is it possible to upload this map to my table for dnd, if so, how?
noxiousimp 21 May, 2023 @ 12:40pm
Amazing work on all your maps! This one loaded most of the assets (missing 2 from the loadout, but none that I can tell). Chapter 2 and 3 aren't usable but looked great from the images. Thank you for sharing!

Is it possible to pause or remove animations on the map?
Dumbass With A Phone 10 Oct, 2022 @ 3:08pm
Hey I just downloaded this map and Its not loading the mods through properly. the only models that loaded in were 2 houses and that what it. is it a problem on my end or yours?
Nanabug 17 Jul, 2022 @ 1:20pm
Thank you for these maps they have and will bring a lot to the adventure I'm running.

Sorry, I'm not sure I follow... export the terrain from Unity or make it someplace else and import it to Unity?
Searanger  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 4:55pm
@Ermitaum -- One thing that isn't documented anywhere. If an asset doesn't have a link to a mesh file it won't pack into a unitypackage. You can get around this by exporting a mesh of the terrain and applying it as a mesh collider.
Ermitaum 3 Jan, 2022 @ 1:35am
Hi there! May I ask how you made this? Did you use Unity Terrain? If so, how did you do it? I've tried time and again to export my terrain from Unity to TTS, but it's always missing textures (the dreaded pink). Everything else works: river flows, trees and grass blow in the wind etc.

Absolutely amazing stuff!!! My wife and I both played in 'Hoard of the Dragon Queen' several times so when I found this by accident my mind was blown, and so was hers once I showed her.

Hi, these maps are really awesome.... but is there any chance of making them WITHOUT stuff on it, like houses etc, so that we can use them as "templates" to make our own Adventures on them?
ArdiV 8 Jan, 2021 @ 4:38am
Спасибо, прям ОГРОМНОЕ! Мне уже нравиться карта и надеюсь моим друзьям тоже!

He Searanger! This stuff is epic. Thanks for the work! I am having a issue however. For this map, it seems the main asset does NOT load for 1 of my players. 3/4 works perfectly. He basically has 3d for a small percentage (like 10%) of the houses (which are different assets). Any ideas?
Rico 9 Nov, 2020 @ 3:04pm
Your maps are awesome! How did you do the river?!
Searanger  [author] 9 Sep, 2020 @ 1:40pm
@Bunions - Nothing is missing this is a normal part of the map. Unfortunately I did not know how to fix the edges at the time when I made this map and going back and fixing it now would be difficult. It's just a quirk of the way I make maps.
Bunions 9 Sep, 2020 @ 10:51am
You're missing assets on the hillside of the map picture included - https://i.imgur.com/HHUU70O.jpg my mod cache was off when I took this shot.
deMello 26 May, 2020 @ 6:25pm
Hey, you think you can make the animated riber into separate assets? Animated rivers are really missing on the workshop right now.
Searanger  [author] 5 May, 2020 @ 5:05pm
@D1nkster Just loaded the map. Everything seems fine on my end. Try turning mod caching off and reloading the map. See if that fixes your problem. It is a 90MB map so i may take a moment to download.
D1nkster 5 May, 2020 @ 4:53pm
@Searanger The Unity Map won't load. Only the first two assets.
Searanger  [author] 5 May, 2020 @ 5:58am
@_Tails are you able to provide a screenshot of the error.
_Tails♡ 30 Apr, 2020 @ 4:41pm
For some reason I keep getting a scripting error. Any help?
Ermitaum 24 Apr, 2020 @ 3:22pm
Your work is amazing! Truly, the work of a pro! Mind if ask which programs you've used for modeling/texturing etc?
Searanger  [author] 11 Apr, 2020 @ 8:55pm
@Cpt_Riva I use this mod to project grid lines onto my maps. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1755772682
K.I.P 11 Apr, 2020 @ 6:59pm
Is there a way to project the grid over the terrain? It runs under the map currently and I'd like to raise it to be level with the grass so I can tell players how far their movement range is.
OneDeadDonkey 31 Jan, 2020 @ 8:02pm
@Searanger Are there any particular tutorials you went with to learn how to scale your landscapes in Unity? I have been wanting to create fully 3D maps for my upcoming tabletop game but I am not familiar enough with Unity to understand what scales and such are needed.

Thanks much for your contributions to this community and thanks for any advice you can offer.
Searanger  [author] 8 Jan, 2020 @ 7:09pm
@Karmakilla - It's done with a shader. It's just a flat plane with tesselation and other effects on it. The mist and ripples are done with particle effects.
Karmakilla 8 Jan, 2020 @ 10:00am
how do you get the watereffect working. i´m trying to build a hexfield with watereffect. in unity the effect is there but in TTS not.
Mallumvox 17 Sep, 2019 @ 11:23am
Thanks for the answer. Where can I get the script?
Searanger  [author] 16 Sep, 2019 @ 7:09pm
@Mallumvox - I have a script that generates a mesh collider based off of the terrain data. I do this as a final step before importing into Table Top Simulator
Mallumvox 16 Sep, 2019 @ 6:33pm
How did you create collision on your map?
Dread 14 Sep, 2019 @ 12:23pm
Mordekaiser approves.
alright 14 Aug, 2019 @ 11:34pm
@searanger thank you for the information.
Searanger  [author] 14 Aug, 2019 @ 9:51am
@You know i had to do it to em - They are not from sketchfab. They were purchased from the unity store.
alright 13 Aug, 2019 @ 11:20pm
Do you have a collection on sketch fab for the houses you used?
Searanger  [author] 7 Aug, 2019 @ 7:10am
@rondenelli That's very kind of you but I don't think I'm good enough for professional work. I think I'll keep this as a hobby XD
Andros 6 Aug, 2019 @ 5:24am
If you aren't already and if you're interested in such employment, then I would imagine this would be an incredible resume example of your talent. Awesome stuff. You need to be at a studio doing this full-time.
OsamaBinLaggin 4 Aug, 2019 @ 5:16am
he does not, you can view his workshop list from his profile.
Crabs Are People 29 Jul, 2019 @ 1:26pm
do you have one for water deep dragon heist?
alright 28 Jul, 2019 @ 10:51am
Might i ask if its possible to find the buildings you used in your build?
LeonHard 27 Jul, 2019 @ 6:42am
Impressive work! Thanks for sharing. It's inspirational.

A couple of questions, if you don't mind.

1) Did you write the water shader yourself? Many water shaders for Unity rely on scripts and don't work in TTS. I have been looking for a nice water shader for months and I ended up modifying Sean's Water Shader ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Unity3D/comments/9borx7/seans_water_free_water_shader_see_comments_for/ ) for private use (I'm trying to build an hexagonal geomorphic terrain tileset and need World UVs to make sure the tiles are invariant under rotation and translation).
But your water looks way better than what I managed to achieve. So I'm exploring all the avenues :)

2) The models of the water reeds: did you make them yourself or are they available somewhere? If so, could you tell me where?

Thanks again for sharing such a beautiful creation.

This is incredible work Searanger. This is an immediate favorite and thumbs up form me. I am now a huge fan of your work, and cant wait to see what you have instored for us next!
Searanger  [author] 12 Jul, 2019 @ 5:22pm
@kevinjohnson make them, buy them or find them for free on sites where people share their work like sketchfab
MagicUser 12 Jul, 2019 @ 5:19pm
How do you find assets that have meshes and don't have any scripts?
Searanger  [author] 12 Jul, 2019 @ 4:50pm
@kevinjohnson95 I made it inside unity then imported it as a unity assetbundle.
MagicUser 12 Jul, 2019 @ 4:10pm
How in the world do you make this?
Khyz0r 28 Jun, 2019 @ 4:51pm
Map looks gorgeous, makes me want to get back into D&D. May I request you upload assets individually though so we can use them in other game maps also?
DonnieLove 26 Jun, 2019 @ 1:51pm
I'm not much for DnD but I have to say that you have outdone yourself here. This is gorgeous.
Joystick 24 Jun, 2019 @ 3:48pm
@searanger that part about scripts is exactly the missing piece of info I was looking for. I’ll check out some other water assets that don’t rely on scripts and go from there. Thanks a bunch, your work has been super inspirational.
Novalesk 24 Jun, 2019 @ 3:46pm
As per the norm, this looks fantastic! You never disappoint!
Searanger  [author] 24 Jun, 2019 @ 1:33pm
@limpnoodle The game developers themselves provide basic tutorials on how to import unity assets into TTS. I would recommend you start with those. After that you will have to learn how to use unity. It's not complicated and there's lots of documentaion availible.

The only other pieces of advise i can offer are. Nothing with scripts will work. If your asset relies on unity scripts it won't work with TTS. Also if the asset you are trying to import does not have a mesh it will no render ingame.

Best of luck. It's going to be a lot of trial and error.
limpnoodle 24 Jun, 2019 @ 8:16am
hey searanger, im a newer DM and a huge fan of your work. id like to make similar stlyed maps for my current campaign but im not too familiar with unity and exporting asset bundles to TTS specifically. any advice on where i can find some useful tutorials for making maps like these and getting them into TTS?
