шикарный мод для новичков. Если ты хочешь выиграть, значит должен начать щимить бота быстрее чем он тебя. Правда при постройке пушки бот отлитает от 2 выстрелов)

it will. but only if the map maker included heavy weapons, and they can aim at enemy bases, and the ai doesn't spend all its resources elsewhere

*the AI picks one of potentially many build orders but if the map creator only recorded one then the AI does the same thing every time

The easiest way to beat them is portal make them shoot themselves

@Alex It works if you just enable it. No need to change any settings, not even the difficulty. It will override the difficulty setting.

As for other mods, they only have to support the vanilla AI. This mod only changes parameters of the vanilla AI, so if a mod works well in vanilla with AI on, this mod will work for it too

Is the mod broken?

the ai will try to rebuild but it cannot and it only uses aa but that is it, it was working fine before but it isnt now, any way to fix this?

@JDMK Yes, everything you say is correct, to some degree. This mod only changes parameters of the existing AI, making the AI's behavior unrealistic; it doesn't change any of its fundamental logic. I said in the item description: “I'm certain a good rush strategy can defeat it” because its difficulty mainly comes from its inhuman APM. That's why it's also very dependent on how well the map maker recorded their map's AI — especially how structurally stable the fort is. The map maker determines the possible strategies, and the AI follows a strict path. It's not adaptive. Some smart heads in the community are thinking about how to make a truly adaptive and dynamic AI for Forts, but that stuff is complicated.

The issue of the AI shooting its own doors is known. I might be able to add a monkey patch for the AI that checks more bounds in the right place, but I'm not actively working on anything Forts-related right now

Is this mod broken now or something? I have played it on 6 diffrent maps, beat it basically effortlessly on each map. Every time it just spams early game aggression forever, wasting all of its resources spamming missile launchers or mortars while Im building a fourth cannon 8 minutes in. Also the faster building seems to cause it to collapse itself while repairing otherwise minor damage. And finally it seems like this mod makes the AI shoot weapons faster, but this causes the AI to regularly hit its own doors especially with EMP missiles, basically killing itself for no reason. Right now it seems like this mod makes the AI ironically easier to beat

@XLfoxs Yes, Ultra-Hard AI will use (and abuse) modded weapons, if and only if the mod authors of the mods have added AI compatibility. If the normal AI uses them, this one will, too. However (yes, another catch): the map you're playing on must be built with the Workshop mod(s) and has to require the mod(s) to play with it/them. Also, if the enemy AI doesn't have the modded weapons in its starting fort from the start, the map creator needs to have recorded an "AI build order". You can tell if a Workshop map has an AI build order if it has the Skirmish tag. Sadly, many map creators don't record AIs, even if the map uses modded weapons.

In case you're interested in modding and what I meant by "AI compatibility" in more detail: How mod authors can tweak the game's AI to recognize their modded weapons better isn't documented at all in the official Forts modding guide right now, but you basically need to insert variables inside tables using an ai/ai.lua script, telling the AI script what your weapons are like.

@Soupogen I totally can, it's very easy to work with and incorporate the original AI difficulty setting in the code.
But the purpose of this mod is to be harder than the "Hard" setting, so by enabling this mod, I already assume you want it to be harder, and not be something in-between the existing settings

@Void you have to enable the mod, then enable the normal AI in a match (or use Skirmish against AI). Doesn't matter if you select Easy, Normal, or Hard — the mod overrides the difficulty setting and parameters

@gamemasterEllison if you leave frustration on the ai often builds all the foreground/background bracing before doing anything expensive like placing tech . It would be great if it could switch on frustration mid game in cases that look like softlocks (floating resources?) but idk how possible that is. afaik there isn't a mod to re-enable frustration yet

is there any way to turn frustration back on? the AI makes mistakes with the fort often and sometimes softlocks itself, despite the build order not using small bracings. This unreliability is not good, and so frustration should fix that, right?

@jackkimmy well but it was on more games maybe a uniqe bug and without mod the ai had already cannons compared to with the mod but still thanks!

@IBlack Not actually an error. This mod just makes the AI build quicker and shoot more accurately. It still follows the dev's pre-made AI. For example, if it was on Easy AI without this mod, if given enough time, it would still build the same fort.

I think there is a Problem? my match was 55minutes cause i was testing something and the enemy didnt even build a armory they only atack witch flak or miniguns (it was a vanilla maps first one was balls 2v2 and secound was wingman.
