I hope not. Historical accuracy makes it more fun. Nobodies ever seen a black hasidic Jew. Ethiopia invented another son of Solomon THAT IS NOT IN THE BIBLE = Heresy

Hmm. I agree with King Arthur, to a degree.
While the Hasmodeans were hardcore, far-right extremists very focused on a return to traditional ritual, observance and culture, it would take time to take effect.

My point is that their culture was more similar to the Ptolemaic Egyptians than to Eastern culture and if you don't create a separate culture than Eastern or Hellenistic they are culturally more similar to the Hellenists in most of their culture during this period, calendar, holiday features, and building style Even the paintings of the clothes of all the priests and kings were completely Hellenistic, I live in this country and I see the The culture stayed here, and it is also part of the studies here

Regarding the "Sikarikoi" or Sicarii, while they were indeed an extreme faction, the broader resistance to Hellenization and later Romanization was not limited to such fringe groups. The fact that the Jewish population retained its identity despite centuries of foreign influence underscores the complexity and resilience of Jewish culture during this period.

Cultural exchange is rarely a one-way process; it's a negotiation where different elements are accepted, modified, or rejected. Thus, while Hellenistic elements were certainly present and influential in Judea, they did not fully replace the existing Jewish cultural and religious identity.
Nor Dogroth  [author] 22 Aug, 2024 @ 10:21am
The Hasmonean dynasty itself, despite its Hellenistic elements, was born out of a rebellion against forced Hellenization, highlighting the tension between Greek influence and Jewish traditions. Furthermore, while some Jews might have embraced aspects of Greek culture, many others maintained their distinct religious and cultural identity. This is evident in the persistence of Jewish religious practices, the maintenance of a distinct Jewish calendar, and the eventual opposition to Roman and Hellenistic influence, as seen in the Jewish revolts.
Nor Dogroth  [author] 22 Aug, 2024 @ 10:20am
It's true that Hellenistic influences were pervasive in Judea, especially in certain aspects like the names of rulers, the adoption of Greek symbols, and the construction of Hellenistic temples, such as the one dedicated to Dionysus. The geographical and political context under the Seleucids and later the Hasmoneans undeniably brought Judea into the orbit of the Hellenistic world.

However, it's important to recognize that the adoption of certain Hellenistic elements does not equate to the wholesale assimilation of Greek culture by the Jewish population. The presence of Hellenistic names and symbols among the ruling class or the existence of Hellenistic temples does not imply that the broader Jewish population fully embraced Hellenism. Cultural identity is not solely defined by the external symbols of power but also by religious practices, social customs, and collective memory.
king arthur 22 Aug, 2024 @ 4:08am
The temple and the symbols were Hellenistic, the kings had completely Hellenistic names, Hellenization has already existed in the place since the conquests of Alexander the Great, and after 3 generations after the Hashmonaean rebellion, most of the people already adopted the culture, the calendar and the geographical area was under the influence of the Hellenistic world, there were areas The completely Hellenistic temples in Judea itself such as the great temple to Dionysus in general the Jews who took on Eastern culture were the extreme faction of the Sikriks who were always a minority

Culture always thrives in exchange with others, and it is nearly impossible to fully represent this real complexity in a game. The blending of cultures does not imply the erasure of one by another, but rather the creation of a unique, hybrid identity that reflects the influences while preserving its essence.
Nor Dogroth  [author] 22 Aug, 2024 @ 2:06am
The notion that the existing culture disappeared with Hellenism and that the population became purely Greek is highly questionable. Hellenization was not a uniform or complete process; rather, it was a complex interaction where certain segments of society, particularly the urban elite, adopted Greek elements more readily than others. While Greek ways of thinking were considered and reflected upon, as exemplified by the Book of Ecclesiastes, the underlying culture retained its distinct characteristics.

It’s important to note that not all population groups were equally influenced by Greek culture. In rural areas, traditional practices and values often persisted much longer. Even later, when the Romans came, not everyone suddenly became Roman. Jewish culture, like any culture, evolved by integrating new elements, but it also consciously resisted and maintained continuity in core aspects, especially in religious and cultural practices.
king arthur 21 Aug, 2024 @ 7:12pm
Why use an Eastern culture when historically most of the Jews at that time were culturally close to the Hellenistic for several decades(and more the that)?
Nor Dogroth  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 12:33pm
Just subscribe and activate it in the mod launcher.
Feargys 19 Jan, 2024 @ 8:13am
I simply can't get this to work. Is there a link to download the file or do I just press follow?
Nor Dogroth  [author] 7 Dec, 2023 @ 11:55am
Make sure you have activated all necessary Mods, then check for mod conflicts by disabling other mods.

Nor Dogroth  [author] 18 Feb, 2023 @ 3:26pm
Take a look at the IA unlocker, it requires the main unlocker mod.
Scorchie 17 Feb, 2023 @ 12:39pm

Aristoxenus 17 Jan, 2023 @ 12:55pm
Oh ok, great. Hey btw I think the Jews should have their own culture, they are grouped as easterns but should have the Star of David in the Diplomacy options
I got the idea playing the mod: The Jewish revolt, 69 AD
Nor Dogroth  [author] 17 Jan, 2023 @ 5:14am
Judea is playable with my faction unlocker for the Imperator Augustus campaign
Aristoxenus 17 Jan, 2023 @ 3:47am
Is this the only mod required to play Judea? I tried to install it, the Judean faction is completely absent.
Do I need another mod? Which one?
I tried Nordo faction unlocker, nothing changed except all factions (all except Judea) are playable
Nor Dogroth  [author] 30 Jul, 2022 @ 2:30am
No, I do not mod for Attila, but thanks.

Nor Dogroth  [author] 23 May, 2022 @ 1:16am
Looks like you have a mod conflict oder your save file is corrupted after changing mods during a running campaign.
[RPPK]Elites 22 May, 2022 @ 9:29pm
It keeps crashing in the middle of the transition between turns. Do you know what the issue could possibly be?
Nor Dogroth  [author] 28 Nov, 2021 @ 3:31am
@Phallus Darkblade Thank your for the amazing video, I've added it to the mod page.

@pvanpeu: Click subscribe, start the launcher, make sure the mod is activated, start the game.

Working Joe 27 Nov, 2021 @ 6:07am
Hey Nordo, big fan of your work! I love this mod and recently made a video spotlight on it. I was wondering if you could put it in the video reel? I noticed you don't have any and I would be honored to have the showcase featured there!

Here's a link: https://youtu.be/3OArO3Ts66w

Sounds like you have a mod conflict.
-= Sk1F =- 9 May, 2021 @ 5:16am
Do i have to do something in addition, cause I can not switch to imperator augustus, game crashes.
Tried to delete mods and resubscribe, doesnt help.
Nor Dogroth  [author] 8 May, 2021 @ 1:52am
Thanks for reporting, the effect is fixed now
-= Sk1F =- 2 May, 2021 @ 9:47pm
It is still broken.
For some reason game doesnt count eastern cultural influence towards total.
After building a religious building it shows in province bar only local traditions religion, character influence e.t.c. so basically temples dont add any religious bonuses. Not sure if they add anything else.

Maybe the issue is that in the main game this faction was hellenic and You change it to eastern ?
Nor Dogroth  [author] 17 Apr, 2021 @ 2:02am
The issue with missing text should be solved now.
Nor Dogroth  [author] 16 Jan, 2021 @ 4:07pm
DEI is not my business, I'm sorry.
Sacred Cow Slaughterhouse 16 Jan, 2021 @ 1:59pm
Is there any way for a DEI submod/unlocker mod compatible with DEI?

I haven't seen an unlocker compatible with DEI and this seems to be the best Judea mod out there.
Alessar 🐺🦄🦅 1 Oct, 2020 @ 12:37am
Maybe it is possible to add the unit names and building in the first line of the description? Like that we can read it with the encyclopedia
Nor Dogroth  [author] 6 Oct, 2019 @ 11:59pm
Read my comment from the 8th July
Roxorlulz 6 Oct, 2019 @ 5:55pm
I'm also having a problem where Unit and building names aren't showing up, what is the reason for this?
Nor Dogroth  [author] 9 Jul, 2019 @ 8:17am
No, the localisation is correct. The bug is not caused by the mod as wrote before.
OndAtRa RodenTia 9 Jul, 2019 @ 6:39am
// In some units I can't see their names.
Thats because your game localisation different from mod version.
Jason Wolf 8 Jul, 2019 @ 6:58am
Thanks
Nor Dogroth  [author] 7 Jul, 2019 @ 4:11pm
Impossible, that bug has no known reason modders can fix. All names are implemented correctly, ask the game developers.
Alexander The Greek 7 Jul, 2019 @ 2:37pm
In some units I can't see their names. Please, fix it.
