From a very cursive look into the code and if you want to get rid of murders and spouses events, go to the events folder and delete dark_ages_assassination.txt as well as dark_ages_spouses.txt. Maybe some stuff also in the decisions folder, but you need to check within each file. If this generate bugs, errors or CTDs I am not at fault... ;)
Dark Ages for CK2 is compatible with everything.
Dark Ages doesn't change a line of vanilla code, so it doesn't touch vanilla mechanics. It is other mod that is causing you pain.
On the contrary, Dark Ages is totally compatible with HIP. I am a big fan of it and certainly always played with both, among many other mods.
In fact and given how it was coded, I assure you Dark Ages is compatible with any other mod out there.
Check your installation before posting false info.
My bad... ;)
Finally I politely invite you to stop your line of argument about this issue as it will not lead us anywhere.
Thank you.
It is not about standing criticism but instead amputating the mod of one of its features, because a single user feels ridiculously entitled to unceremoniously demand the removal of a feature praised by other users before and for about 6 years now.
As far as being a terrible game designer you are entitled to your opinion. Designing games most assuredly for longer than double your age to the delight of so many people, not that the opinion of an entitled kid even scratches my skin.
Have a nice day.
Because you called it a 'tantrum' when anybody says a slight part of your mod isn't so good
MY CHARACTERS went through multiple generations, and the criminal lasted a while.
Sorry kiddo but im not reading a guide book to a very mid mod. especially one that constantly begs for donations when it is so low quality
Criminal rings cannot last "generations" because the mastermind - someone on your court with questionable personality traits - eventually dies, if you were unable to solve the issue before. So, the lie.
I recommend you read the Guide to Dark Ages available in the link of the mod's description. Moreso, you should pick the best option to address the problem by reading the relevant tooltips in the options.
This was coded many years ago but if I recall correctly, the average time to hunt the criminal ring was about 7 years.
It just spams you with endless negative modifiers and stays for multiple generations.
Sorry to read that. So far no complaints have been made about it. I invite you to play Dark Ages for CK3 as Dark Ages for CK2 is not supported anymore. As a plus, there's no Criminal Ring in Dark Ages for CK3.
No, Dark Ages for CK2 is compatible with every other mod out there as absolutely nothing in the base game is changed. I encourage it to be paired with HIP for the greatest play experience in my opinion.
I have a friend who I recently got into the game, he's playing with mods and says he's crashing every, roughly 2 hours or so.
Any way I can go about helping troubleshoot?
Thank you for your kind words. Enjoy!
Thanks for the report. Happy gaming!
Don't have a clue sorry. I don't develop for the mod for some years, so as you might guess I am at a loss.
Thanks for the support, glad you are enjoying! If you like this mod, try Dark Ages for CK3.
[effectimplementation.cpp:2030]: Non Aggression Pact Opinion Effect doesn't have an origin description
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
P.S. GREAT mod!
You need to have wards of at least 6 yo or have focus Scholarship or Theology while not having other lifestyle traits. Then, cross your fingers for the event to fire. It is a very rare prospect.
Thanks for the kind words.
If you own CK3, check the Dark Ages mod for it.
I have moved to CK3 and released Dark Ages for it recently. I am not supporting Dark Ages for CK2 anymore.
This being said, I am sure your issue has nothing to do with the mod. Dark Ages for CK2 doesn't change a single line of vanilla code.
here !
They are in the file dark_ages_family.txt with the ids darkages.7266X (and darkages.72659), where X goes from 0-8, I think.
These events - "A Parental Gift/Curse" - give the offspring the chance of gaining or losing stat points depending how good or bad their parents stats are.
And with 5 or more stats for every child it is getting annoying reading the same messages over and over, if your ruler was very successful in seduction or if they have lots of wives/concubines thus lots of children.
I know the event id through the debug mode. But google search doesn't gave me that particular piece of code, or I'm just blind and didn't see it. Many thanks. :)
I have no clue about what event you are talking about but to hide an event in CK2 you just need to insert a line in the event just above the trigger section with the text:
hide_window = yes
It is a matter of finding the event. You can do that by making a search in the loc files with a part of the text of the event, look up the respective tag and then searching in the events folder for the same tag.
Hope this help!
Maybe I can find a way to do it myself, I'm too lazy to read code right now. Maybe changing the message target to the child instead of the parent, so I will never read them? Just talking to myself.
Sorry to read that but for more than two years now that I ended development of this mod.
Cool mod nevertheless.
Lol! It's too early to see if you like it, much less what you want to include in your mod...
I'll probably release it during vanilla 1.9 timeline. It is already uploaded to Steam, so I can launch it whenever I feel it is ok. Right now it needs to be extensively tested with version 1.9 of the game.
In a departure from my approach to CK2, expect a mod that is about rebalancing vanilla, turning it more challenging, while adding content that helps increase roleplay and emergent stoytelling.
