i dont know if its possible but can you make those tiles purchasable aswell? the price for the standard tiles are outrageous as is so i doubt there'll be a lot of balance issues

Thanks :) But alas no, I cannot find a way to make the tiles beyond 3 workable. I have previously researched that aspect to no avail.

Hi dreadanddespair
Great mod, it really makes my city super big; however idk if it is a bug or sth, when i check city's citizens, it seems no one is working on the fields beyond 3 tiles; in other words, tiles beyond 3*3 don't have citizens working on them to yield output

@PlayerNameT I've researched and tried to make the tiles beyond the third workable before and failed. The purchasing of tiles is related to a city being able to work those tiles. It seems one goes with the other.

Great work with this mod so far, theere is however something that has been bothering me and i can't seem to fix it myself so i thought i might just make it a feature request.

While this allows your city to expand beyond the 3 tile maximum it doesn't allow me to purchase tiles beyond the third one making expansion late in the game painfully slow. Could this be added?

I think the fort route is the best. I have looked into them and the only mods I found said fort spam by AI or spam of the unit making forts spammed. I will give your choices a try. Thank you the extra information. :)

There are some mods that may already do what you are thinking of. JNR's 'Culture Bomb for Government Plaza' does exactly what the mod title states. ActJustly.LoveMercy.WalkHumbly's 'Expansionism - Goverment Culture Bomb Policies' gives a culture bomb to all districts, but also has negative effects to compensate. I use TC's 'Strategic Forts' and Geekob's 'Enhanced Forts' to get a culture bomb from forts outside my territory.
Ingolenuru 28 Nov, 2019 @ 9:30am
Now I just need a mod lets me culture bomb within in my own city radius since you can't use culture to flip tiles. If you dream, dream big! lol
dreadanddespair  [author] 28 Nov, 2019 @ 4:59am
Great! : ) I like to have contiguous lands myself. It bothers me to have a small city of someone else's in the middle of my empire. Also, this allows the territory to reach out to places where I don't want to place a city (like a single island in the ocean, where there is no land to build districts or wonders), but has a resource that I want.

I really LOVE this mod. I don't wind up with the AI finding that one half city sized area somewhere in the center of my cities which completely destroys my troop movement routes. :) It consequently does the same for the AIs and they don't wind up all squiggly or crazy and not able to defend themselves against each other and most certainly not against me.
Ingolenuru 14 Nov, 2019 @ 8:04pm
Wow. That would make you Zerg like crazy. lol I occasion played the Zergs on Starcraft so I might do that once in a while so thank you again.
dreadanddespair  [author] 13 Nov, 2019 @ 6:32am
You are welcome. I've now made another mod, at someone's request, that changes the max value to 999. That might be good for you, too.
Ingolenuru 12 Nov, 2019 @ 11:16am
I am okay with that actually. I am sad that loyalty overrides culture but as long as I can swallow up a city state and maintain my borders I am okay. I just hate having a city from another civilization pop up in the center of my empire that I cannot get rid of without going to war because loyalty does trump culture. Thank you very much for coming up with the idea and making it work!
dreadanddespair  [author] 12 Nov, 2019 @ 9:49am
I've made a mod that changes the max value to 24. I think that loyalty overrides culture with respect to a city state rebelling; just enclosing it within your borders does not made it change allegiance. I've done that to a city state before.
Ingolenuru 11 Nov, 2019 @ 12:47pm
I don't know if that would make the city state rebel and turn into one of yours or not but it knowing that eventually you surround the city state without having to worry about one space being left in the range that allows cities to be built.
Ingolenuru 11 Nov, 2019 @ 12:44pm
Well, I think it would be interesting to make it a culture war where there is no limit to the size so that the border was based on who had the strongest civilization. I guess decided by game score with faith and culture given more weight possibly. That would be a very interesting game. If the largest available map was stable then 18 or 24 would be good sizes. It might, perhaps, be my OCD just not liking that it is not divisible into a whole number.

I would really love to be able to encircle a city state inside of one or two cities without losing workable tiles from my cities or the city states. If you could grow a city state out to its full workable tiles while surrounding it with your own borders without have to try so hard to manipulate your own border and workable tiles.
dreadanddespair  [author] 11 Nov, 2019 @ 9:28am
What would you want the max value to be other than 16?
Ingolenuru 10 Nov, 2019 @ 9:32pm
Once again a great dream dies at the feet of Sid Meier's Civilization team.
dreadanddespair  [author] 10 Nov, 2019 @ 11:50am
I've been trying to get a mod that allows the value to be changed from the advanced setup, but it is not working. The UI for the choosing the value is easy, but then the only available way to access the chosen value is lua and I cannot find a way to set a GlobalParameters value with lua.
Ingolenuru 6 Nov, 2019 @ 6:08pm
I want to be able to use the Advanced Setup menu to lower or increase the value of 16. I am heavily medicated due to severe nerve damage. I don't know what program to use to to change sql file so I would need clear instructions to try changing it myself. Thank you for at least thinking about it.
dreadanddespair  [author] 6 Nov, 2019 @ 6:34am
@Ingolenuru To be clear, you wish to be able to change the max value in game? Lower or increase the value from 16? The simplest way would be outside the game, for you to edit the sql file to your desired value. I'll think on a in game solution.
Ingolenuru 5 Nov, 2019 @ 8:23pm
Is there a way to put the maximum border growth on a slider?
dreadanddespair  [author] 4 Oct, 2019 @ 5:23am
Sorry, I cannot think of a way to change the working radius of a city. I know xml/sql and lua and it doesn't seem like it can be done with either. In Civ 5, it was a dll mod that made that change.
Scryehard 26 Sep, 2019 @ 7:05pm
I would appreciate that a lot. Even if you don't want to go through the trouble of making a mod yourself, if you'd let me know how to do it, I would be very thankful.
dreadanddespair  [author] 26 Sep, 2019 @ 5:03pm
Expanding the border radius is achieved by editing a value in the Global Parameters. I'll think on how to change the working radius.
Scryehard 25 Sep, 2019 @ 4:00pm
If you know how to increase the border radius, do you also have some idea of how to increase the working city radius? I'm obviously not asking you to go and make a mod for me, but if you have some idea, please tell me. I don't know anything about modding, but I could give it a try myself.
dreadanddespair  [author] 25 Sep, 2019 @ 7:39am
Not with this mod. Also, I don't know of a Civ VI mod that expands the working city radius beyond 3 tiles.
Scryehard 24 Sep, 2019 @ 11:52pm
Is there a way to make it so you can add districts and wonders to the new tiles?
stevevan1818 2 Aug, 2019 @ 4:32pm
thank you! been looking for a mod like this since the game came out!!

Everyone is Russia?

City working radius is unaffected by this mod. The mod increases the maximum that city borders can grow to, with culture. The bonus, strategic and luxury resources in the tiles beyond the city radius can be improved for civ benefit. There was a mod that did this for Civ 5 that I liked, and I couldn't find one in Civ 6 that did that, so I made it.

can you work the new tiles? If not, I don't see what this mod changes - even without this mod boorders grow past the limit. I think
