I downloaded this map a while ago and just opened it this morning to start a new city. I haven't played on it yet, but this is a gorgeous map. I'm going to have to up my game for your map.

@wellington6012 I think you should drop those in any future maps. Makes people confused and uncertain as to if they can be safely deleted.
wellington6012  [author] 30 Jun @ 1:59pm
They are a component of the vanilla dam. They can be used as a prop, or a vanilla hack to do invisible power distribution.

Hi Angelhearth. Not sure what the problem is with the map editing, I was able to open a subscribed version in the editor and do some brief editing without issue. I get what is being said about the resources, rightly or wrongly, it was an active decision to use the vanilla theme, which the colouring looks terrible, farmland in particular almost fluro green. In hindsight maybe the custom theme would have been better, even a simple theme based on the vanilla, but turn off the oil and farm colouring so they could be placed better. This was a while ago and I did take onboard similar feedback for future maps.

The problem with this beautiful map is that no thought seems to have been placed on it's playability. I agree with @Marvallo in what he writes. In addition there are a few gravel paths and bridge pillars that still hangs around after what seems to be a change in the rail lines. I have tried playing it several times, but it all ends up with me wanting to change things in the map editor. Sadly that's impossible because the map crashes when, or shortly after, you open the map in the editor. If anyone has found out why it crashes the map editor, please reply.
Marvallo 18 Oct, 2022 @ 12:49pm
Started this map recently and it is an absolute gem of a design. So much thought and attention to detail put in. Which is why it is extremely puzzling and disappointing to see such a lackluster layout for the natural resources. ZERO farmland? And you made all of the water oil so I have no option but to offshore drill or make "manmade" islands to build oil industry. Then you kind of just put a ton of ore in the mountains, but not in manner that organically fits the mountainside. Very much vanilla (which was the point I guess) and not at all ideal for industrial play. Almost quit and unsubscribed once I saw the natural resource layout, but will see it through (without agriculture...). Understand if you think "yellow ground" is ugly, but even a small section would have been better than ZERO FARMLAND. Will have to look into a mod that can adjust resources to make this map actually viable for industry.

Thanks Wellington, I didnt realy understood the description about the dam, thank you for your answer. But as said, even though its an old map its one of the best in the Workshop.
wellington6012  [author] 22 Sep, 2022 @ 6:38pm
Hi DerKaiser. This was over 3 years ago I built this, but if I recall, the dam doesn't produce any power, unless you include a couple of workshop substations listed in the description. I think the power comes from a wind farm? You also might need the unlock 81 tiles mod if any of the power production is outside the 25 tiles. You won't need to activate it and unlock all the tiles, just have the mod installed is enough.
HadrianBuilds 22 Sep, 2022 @ 9:02am
First of all, its a fcking beautiful Map. Period.
But I have a quick question for you @wellington6012, or anyone else who probably know the answer, the ''dam-connection'' isnt transfering any Power. It is connected, and hooked up to my village, but I cant get ANY Power.
Sopor42 28 Jun, 2022 @ 12:45pm
Really like the rocky river, looking forward to building on this map!

Thanks Tateos

I love this map so much!
River_x2_ 11 Apr, 2022 @ 1:30am
Glad to hear there will be new maps in the future. I have one suggestion, how about separate rail lines for passenger and cargo lines?
wellington6012  [author] 4 Apr, 2022 @ 11:54pm
Sure do, just click on my workshop link at the top of the page (above the title). Also I've been a bit pre-occupied lately and haven't release any new maps for a while, but I haven't turned my back on the game, there will be more in the future.
elnegritolucas 4 Apr, 2022 @ 11:05am
hi, i love this map, do u have others?
Aurelleah 13 Feb, 2022 @ 8:27am
Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I didn't make that connection lol
wellington6012  [author] 1 Feb, 2022 @ 3:04pm
Hi Aurelleah. It's pre-laid for an optional Power Station v2 (MG), ummmm... as mentioned in the description literally cm's above this comment field.
Aurelleah 1 Feb, 2022 @ 11:23am
and one more clarification: I tried loading the map in editor with no mods except 81 tiles loaded and still, the structures infront of the dam are gone ._. wonder if anyone else has this issue
Aurelleah 1 Feb, 2022 @ 11:09am
to clarify, it was the substation infront of the dam
Aurelleah 1 Feb, 2022 @ 11:08am
Somehow in the latest update, the buildings here disappeared :/ https://i.imgur.com/GA9BElL.jpg Any chance you remember what you used there before/could screenshot this in your game so I can re-make? If that's not too much trouble
Aurelleah 18 Jan, 2022 @ 3:55pm
I love the little easter eggs too, like the octopus under the bridge and the lizard thing c:
wellington6012  [author] 31 Dec, 2021 @ 7:03pm
Thanks Aurelleah, glad to hear it's giving you so much enjoyment and thanks for the awards
Aurelleah 31 Dec, 2021 @ 4:54pm
Hands down this is the map I like the most so far of any I've tried. Fits my personality perfectly; so detailed! I love the intersections, the rural winding roads, the variety in landscape while still feeling sorta "protected" and not out in the open. Thank you! Gave a bunch of awards for the effort, though you really deserve more than awards for the joy you'll be providing me and others during our playthroughs <3 Thank you!
mikmoen 25 Jun, 2021 @ 2:20pm
Ohhh well that's unfortunate, I use a Temperate theme all the time so that's why it wouldn't be available. Such a pity, that Pine would look so much better on my maps than the Redwood.
wellington6012  [author] 24 Jun, 2021 @ 8:10pm
Hi Mikmoen. Yes Vanilla. All themes have a core base theme type underneath, european, tropical, boreal or temperate. While most trees, assets and building can be found across all four theme types, there are a handful unique to each one. That vanilla pine I think is only in european or boreal, where as another example, you won't find the vanilla palm, need to be tropical base theme for that.
mikmoen 24 Jun, 2021 @ 3:08pm
This is supposed to be full vanilla, but one of the trees, which look like Pines, I don't recognize. I haven't seen them in the Map Editor myself.

No worries astridmustang, glad you and so may other are enjoying it.
astridmustang 17 Jan, 2021 @ 1:28am
Thank you for making this map! I absolutely love using it. There is so much detail in the work that you did. I especially like the lights at the dam, during the night. Thank you!!
wellington6012  [author] 2 Nov, 2020 @ 4:38pm
Thanks Josh and Purpleicious, always great to receive feedback, glad you both enjoying it.
josh 2 Nov, 2020 @ 2:29pm
This is my favorite map that I've played. A lot of times I get bored after a while with a map but this one I just kept going and going on. It's great
Purpleicious 21 Oct, 2020 @ 11:38am
This is a stunning map and I am looking forward to building on it. I only hope I can do your work justice. I also hope that you make some new maps as I admire your creative style of map building :)

No worries River_x2_, glad you are enjoying it
River_x2_ 6 Oct, 2020 @ 12:31pm
I love this map. It's beautiful, playable and yet it gives me enough challenge when I'm trying to figure out traffic on connecting highway after getting 25k citizens. It's fun! It has also encourages me to play a bit different way than usually, creating smaller towns across the map. So, thank you. :)
bassrider81 4 Aug, 2020 @ 1:43am
Awesome Map!
red 6 Jul, 2020 @ 12:03pm
This map is so beautiful that I won't want to play it because I'll only mess it up. This isn't a map, it's a work of art.
wellington6012  [author] 30 May, 2020 @ 10:37pm
PianoManO23, how the hell did you figure that out??? Yes, google map'd the coast outline, photoshop'd it into a simple height map, then further terrain work in game, to the point I completely forgot that's where it all started from. I am absolutely stunned and astonished by your powers of observation.
PixelBimbo 25 May, 2020 @ 9:01am
This looks like it was based on Ohiwa Harbour in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand! I just happened to have the area up on Google maps while looking at this, and I did a double-take lol Did youstart with that area as a base? I have to know!
wellington6012  [author] 15 May, 2020 @ 10:23pm
Hi HalfBakedMason. I think the square you refer to is a component of hydro dam used to transfer power from the wind farm, little trick bringer of fire came up with, vanilla alternative to a custom buried power asset. Don't quite understand the road glitch, not something I've come across.
HalfBakedMason 8 May, 2020 @ 9:29am
there are these (blue invisible squares) under roads etc... sometimes you can delete them and sometimes you cant. it makes building a pain. another issue and this one i am not sure if it is map but i created land beside water and it either only wants to make a raised road or a tunnel on the land...
wellington6012  [author] 17 Apr, 2020 @ 6:06pm
HI tjm. Just prop rocks and flood lights. Just install a search mod to find them.
tjm 17 Apr, 2020 @ 1:03pm
i was wondering how did you actually do the glowing rock forming the salamander i also found the octopus but i really enjoy the salamander and would like to make more of em in the wild
wellington6012  [author] 22 Jan, 2020 @ 8:24pm
...ps, glad to hear you're enjoying the map.
wellington6012  [author] 22 Jan, 2020 @ 8:24pm
Hi KittySpill. Unfortunately I've had that problem on occasions too, not limited to this map. During testing loading new games, sometimes the ships would come, sometimes they wouldn't. Never found out why this happened, but did test by putting harbours near edge of map and a rail/road connection to have freight transfers to harbours in the middle of the map, which worked and kinda ruled out shipping path issues and leaned more towards a spawning fault with CS itself. A bit annoying it doesn't become apparent until getting up in population and unlocking shipping. The only thing I didn't try which could work was along with outside connections mod, using a mod in the full game to delete and re-lay a direct shipping route without intersections. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
LooseCaboose 22 Jan, 2020 @ 2:05pm
HELP I can't get any ships to spawn. I've tried various mods to correct the pathways as well as vanilla and modded harbors. Trains and planes work fine but no boats. Love playing this map though. Great work
wellington6012  [author] 3 Dec, 2019 @ 12:01pm
Hi EtherealExistence. Don't know what to say, Trains worked perfectly for me. Spent a lot of time riding in the cab, find it a good way to check for detail errors.
wellington6012  [author] 3 Dec, 2019 @ 11:59am
Hi atward1960. I've looked at doing props, but already spend far too much time playing CS, so its a rabbit hole I'm not quite ready to go down yet. ...but maybe one day
DaBooty_Loosenour 2 Dec, 2019 @ 4:17pm
I have an issue with one of the train routes coming from the circle boi (5th screenshot) that goes across the river. Any idea why it's not popping up for me? I firmly believe it's something on my end lol Wonderful map btw! I spend so long just admiring the roadwork!
wellington6012  [author] 22 Nov, 2019 @ 11:04am
Hi Atward1960. Pardon my ignorance, I had to google what a pro file was. I just did a bit of photoshopping of a stock welcome sign (hill valley back to the future I think) I found online, so it just a jpeg now. Happy to try and help out, just might need a little more advice and instruction how to.

There are two reasons for an asset to appear in this section: (1) The asset is placed in the city but is missing (2) The asset is used by some other asset but is missing.
