this easter egg***
Silhouette  [author] 11 Nov, 2013 @ 10:27pm
Thank you for the feedback! :)

My latest three maps (1) (2) (3) should make better use of the easter eggs I have placed.
In fact I had planned on maybe changing this ones (as well as maybe a couple other ones) easter egg to make it part of an alternate, harder-to-find path. With my latest maps I have been trying to better implement easter eggs into the tests (as alternate paths that cut down the amount of time to complete the test).

Well, this was a decent map. A little bit of thinking but easy overall. I saw the easter egg by chance because I'm an explorer. This is perhaps the first easter egg I've run across that is actually functional. Nice.

cool, nice, glad i could help you.

Ok, made some changes, including the flip-panel you had shot too early, thanks again [Tom K] for showing this to me. Also changed those light-bridges that you had spotted, they're not meant to draw your attention too much until you have discovered the easter egg.
Silhouette  [author] 29 Sep, 2013 @ 9:41pm
Ack! I forget about making the shot over edges like that >.<

Thanks for the feedback! Going to remove that flip panel you shot a portal into next to the exit. You were right, that wasn't intentional and i'm glad you found that. :)

Hello.

Cool map. Not sure if i did it intended.

Here is my blind play of your map. I hope you enjoy the video. To access your map directly, just check the description. There are multiple maps in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxvKITusQfM

Thank you for your careful observation. Now that you have mentioned this I feel my one big gripe with this very map was elements without anlines or signage that are linked to the easter egg, I didn't like the idea of players seeing these and wondering if there was something vital to the test itself they had missed. I may try to find a way to hide these elements better if it helps. Sorry about the misunderstanding and once again thank you very much for your feedback! :)

Well, I am judging by the editor image to the right of the slideshow pictures. It just looked and felt like I skipped something vital by accident.

I'm guessing the companion cube featured in the last screenshot is the part you think you're bypassing, but if that's the case the companion cube is intentionally not part of the test and meant to be beyond actually reaching the exit as an easter egg. Otherwise I'm afraid I still don't know what you actually mean.
wildgoosespeeder 29 Sep, 2013 @ 12:04am
Once I get the light bridge enabled (picture 6) and get the light bridge redirected (picture 3), I can toss the laser cube (picture 7).
Silhouette  [author] 28 Sep, 2013 @ 11:54pm
Forgive me but I'm not sure what you mean.
I had made an update only minutes before you posted the comment, I'm hoping that this covers the issue if it's what I think it is. The update added an extra laser-catcher for the exit-door itself rather than the exit sharing the same catcher as the nearby angled-panels.

I don't have the connection strength to do co-op, but I will try your singleplayer maps. I already tried 'Hop' and thought it was really nice, I will try the others now when I get the chance

Once I activate the light bridge, I can toss the cube where it needs to go. It is tricky, but can be done, bypassing some of the puzzle. After that, the rest is manipulating the light bridge to get the laser to not activate the door to close.

Try my coop map?

Silhouette  [author] 22 Sep, 2013 @ 9:53pm
Okay, I switched some things around, including the wall that you managed to shoot over. Thanks again for pointing that out! :)

Other details are in the editing notes.
Silhouette  [author] 22 Sep, 2013 @ 6:47pm
Nice, thanks for spoting that, I will try to fix that right away. Thank you for the feedback!
Chatarrata 22 Sep, 2013 @ 4:08am
Nice map, anyway!
Chatarrata 22 Sep, 2013 @ 4:08am
Hi! I try your chamber and I have a cheat to pass it easy: You can put the cube reflector at the end of its area and jump to see the white wall. From there you can shoot and make a shortcut to the exit.
shark 21 Sep, 2013 @ 6:11pm
No problem
Silhouette  [author] 21 Sep, 2013 @ 6:09pm
Ok, thank you for the tips.
shark 21 Sep, 2013 @ 5:38pm
That is useful for hammer
dont use it allot
shark 21 Sep, 2013 @ 5:34pm
Its hard to use
If you make your own one
then... this will happena
(some point)
You spawn in a cube
:3 very strange

(Hammer is a hard Tool that can make Maps this way -CLEAN- -DESTORYED- -Wheatley-)
(IMPORTENT) When you first useing hammer Allow it to take up allot of ram and GB Per sec
By clicking [CRTL] [CMD] [DEL] And clicking The Thing on the right and allow it to take up
That much ram and GB Per sec
(IMPORTENT) Hammer will Glitch and Lag and take a few seconds to load the maps...
I recommand you dont use it that often it will kill your computer if you do

(IMPORTENT) Some maps Loaded May Be black that is the sign of your computer is killed
Give your computer a rest and some time to cool down

Before you start useing hammer
I think its possable not a really good thing to use everyday

I will continue to try and work on my mapping with just the puzzlemaker for now, but I am interested in using Hammer at some point if I continue to get better.
shark 21 Sep, 2013 @ 5:16pm

But if i were you

Use Hammer Portal 2 tools?

Silhouette  [author] 21 Sep, 2013 @ 5:14pm
There...
Now the portalable panels covered with the laser-grid on the right side have been changed. Before you could create a portal on the laser covered panels, walk through and place a second in the right-area from that very position too early. But now the laser-grid is flat up against the wall, keeping players from making a shot there without burning themselves first.
Silhouette  [author] 21 Sep, 2013 @ 4:55pm
Thank you! :)
Right now I am working on a small update for the laser-grid in front of the right-side.
