I think there's a couple of consoles around the map, one opens the doors to a couple of "janitor cupboards" with a bunch of stuff in. It's been 4 years my memory is a tad hazy :steamfacepalm:
should be at about 3 of the rooms around.
Highrocker45 17 Mar, 2024 @ 1:54pm
Where is the water machine? I can't find it anywhere
cannonf0dder  [author] 28 Jun, 2023 @ 12:30pm
Yeah the UDK for KF2 is a Frankensteins monster of an engine, lots of other bits stitched on-top the base engine, so it's not really compatible with base udk stuff.
I was planning on doing Lockdown but after this one, I wasn't sure I wanted to go through it all again.
Best of luck to you if you do, look forward to seeing it.

holy that sounds like a lot but seems worth it ive been thinking of making zed landing thanks for this info cannon :ccknight: you have great maps
cannonf0dder  [author] 28 Jun, 2023 @ 12:22pm
What I had to do was open up the maps in the KF2 editor, manually extract each mesh/texture/skeletal whatever. Then open those up in 3Dsmax, scale them down and strip the 4th uv layer off them. Then convert them back new fxbs or skeletons, and re-import those in VCD. Bit of a chore tbh but was worth it in the end.
At least I think that's it, it's been a couple years since I did this map.
{ST}jkcrmptn 26 Jun, 2023 @ 2:51pm
Hey if you are okay with answering how were you able to port over the maps? i know they are same engine but umodel doesnt open the kf2 packages for me and they dont open in viscera for me
keith 20 Jul, 2021 @ 4:47am
Please make one or more maps from Killing Floor 2. I really liked these ones. True, the minus is that the physics of corpses and the scale of the map turned out badly, but I still like it😁😁
FreedSnipers 15 Jul, 2021 @ 3:01pm
Any plans on doing more KF2 maps :D! please!
cannonf0dder  [author] 15 Jan, 2021 @ 5:43pm
Thanks again Raeven, still have my hang ups on this map, but I'm glad you found it both enjoyable yet challenging. :vcdjanitor:

Another awesome map! This one was quite challenging due to coloring, lighting, etc... and so many bullet holes and casings! Really enjoyed the giant flamethrowers areas as a means of disposal. It was fun to just load those up as I went along and then run around and watch them burn. So nice touch there! The red light made me so nervous every time it activated (I figured it wasn't going to kill me, but still...). Very enjoyable and I loved the way everything looked! Great work! Thank you!
cannonf0dder  [author] 30 Nov, 2020 @ 12:41am
Cool, glad it's better now. I'd love to do more eventually but the process is such a long one it's a bit off putting. I actually do have some assets half done, but even it's taken what feels like forever. Sadly it's not as easy as export>import, despite them both being udk games
The Renegadist 29 Nov, 2020 @ 11:49pm
Had a chance to finish, definitely much more enjoyable than it was before. Only had one bullet casing stuck in the floor near the Bin control panel but was easily able to dislodge it with a mop swing.

I hope someday you port more KF2 maps because the potential here is great, especially with the props you've already ported.
cannonf0dder  [author] 28 Nov, 2020 @ 4:17am
Ok, sound re-tweaked, a few more gibs and stackables added, also increased the stacking bonus.
cannonf0dder  [author] 27 Nov, 2020 @ 2:17am
Ok tweaks to the flamers are up, added the timer, some more fire around the floor, sfx and it also kills you if you get close (within the red box)
The Renegadist 26 Nov, 2020 @ 5:09pm
Yeah, I'd just extend the time of the flamethrower and increase the sound a bit since it's a gigantic flamethrower.
cannonf0dder  [author] 24 Nov, 2020 @ 3:53pm
Nice thinking, I have to re-tweak it anyway, as I forgot to make it kill the player, so I can do that whilst I'm in there.
The Renegadist 24 Nov, 2020 @ 3:41pm
Well, a good midground would be to increase the burn time.
cannonf0dder  [author] 24 Nov, 2020 @ 9:20am
Ok, with some heavy tweaking, I got the items in the blast area to light up as if they were in a furnace. Also got some zapping sounds going with stuff entering the barriers. Need to apply them over the whole map, so I'm working on that presently. On the flame toggle, I dunno, I might have to cautiously disagree for now, else you can just toss stuff in and forget, personally I prefer to load up the areas, blast them down, then repeat. That may change though.
The Renegadist 23 Nov, 2020 @ 6:34pm
Late but I would still say the best way to increase cleaning satisfaction on this map is to make the flamethrower toggleable via the console, add burning sounds while it's active, increase the radius to fit more than just the tiny square in the middle, and add electric zap sounds if items touch the electric barriers.

These changes would make cleaning on this map a lot more fun.
cannonf0dder  [author] 9 Oct, 2020 @ 7:03am
Looking at investing a bit more time into making this map more fun and/or satisfying to play. I do realise just bullets and bodies isn't great, but struggling to see a way to better it, given it's an arena shooter map. Ideas are all welcome!
cannonf0dder  [author] 5 Oct, 2020 @ 8:44am
Small update to put signs on the consoles. Couldn't think of another way to do it, hopefully it helps those who get confused with how to get access to the bins/buckets.
LeeSuss 31 May, 2020 @ 2:39pm
Thank you!
cannonf0dder  [author] 31 May, 2020 @ 9:30am
There's 3 consoles in the map. One drops the barriers (bottom floor) one near the start to open the bucket and bin rooms and the one on the raised super computer platform to turn on the "furnaces"
LeeSuss 31 May, 2020 @ 7:49am
Can you drop the barriers in this or are they permanently up?
cannonf0dder  [author] 8 Oct, 2019 @ 12:53am
It shouldn't be silent, there should be an ignite and looping flame sound, plus the games normal item burning sound.
I think I mentioned earlier in the comments, the size of the burn zone was initially the whole square, but due to the size of the flame gout it just didn't look right (stuff not being touched by flame being burned).
I may come back and take a look at a few things at some point.
Thanks for the feedback
The Renegadist 7 Oct, 2019 @ 8:22pm
I was surprised, despite this map being very well made it's not very satisfying to clean. The only two disposal methods of either the flamethrower or electric barriers aren't fun to use compared to the satisfaction you get from an incinerator or wood chipper.

If I could make a suggestion make it so the flamethrowers are toggled via the console so they stay on or off and add sounds for when objects burn because right now it's silent which gives no satisfaction to the player. It would also help of the radius is increased to be that entire square instead of the little circle in the middle.
deathmetalindian 1 Oct, 2019 @ 5:41pm
seems well made but just not very user friendly...
Luclone 5 Sep, 2019 @ 6:03pm
Thanks (✪‿✪)ノ
cannonf0dder  [author] 5 Sep, 2019 @ 5:31pm
You can place stuff on the fire symbols and use the console near the big computer tower to set off the flame throwers
Luclone 5 Sep, 2019 @ 5:23pm
are there more methods of disposing other than throwing it to the laser barrier?
Zoop 2 Sep, 2019 @ 7:01am
garbo
Just_Julius 26 Aug, 2019 @ 4:46pm
yes, yes, i love this. i play a lot of KF2 and always wondered who cleaned up the mess
Tiretracker 26 Aug, 2019 @ 10:36am
The crossover that was meant to be. Honestly I waited way too long for this to exist.
cannonf0dder  [author] 23 Aug, 2019 @ 2:32am
The only reason I didn't add more blood is because my fps started to dive bomb at the point it is now, otherwise I would have. In the intetest of making it ok for most to play I stopped there.
Glad you enjoyed it
Catalinalyra 22 Aug, 2019 @ 8:49pm
Excellent level, lots of fun to clean and runs very smoothly. My only feedback is more blood please. And maybe add floodlights to the vendor.
cannonf0dder  [author] 19 Aug, 2019 @ 12:49am
If the next map used anything from this map, then yeah it'd save that one job. This map had over 200 meshes and over 400 textures, and only about 70 of those meshes were made for the Die Sector map, the rest have been cherry picked from Biotics lab, Paris and the Prison. I'd have to be lucky to have those same ones pop up in another map.
Either way I'd want to re-make them anyway to get the map more to scale, this one was a 1:1 conversion and it's pretty over scale.
The Renegadist 18 Aug, 2019 @ 8:01pm
Because you've ported assets already for this map does that save time for other maps or do you have to port everything all over again with each map?
cannonf0dder  [author] 17 Aug, 2019 @ 1:35am
Could I? Yes, yes I could. Would I? Now that's a whole other question... Lots of work to completely migrate stuff over from KF2, if it used the ue3 engine it'd be easy, but it uses a custom ue3 engine so I have to make a lot of changes and conversions, then re-make everything by hand. It's massively time consuming, I did want to make Lockdown, but the map was simply too big to do within a good time frame, at least on my own.
Manly 16 Aug, 2019 @ 7:38pm
Im curious if you're able to make the Burning Paris or Nuke from the game?
:vcdbucket:
A JANITOR 15 Aug, 2019 @ 11:17am
runs very well on maxed out settings=100+fps:)
cannonf0dder  [author] 14 Aug, 2019 @ 5:19pm
That's just a collectable, all consoles are just click to use.
Raspberry Muffin 14 Aug, 2019 @ 4:26pm
I don't know if I'm just really stupid but how do I insert the dosh?
The Evil Soultaker 13 Aug, 2019 @ 2:37pm
Ok thank you!
cannonf0dder  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 2:35pm
Purely decorative, I was thinking about making them sentry turrets but couldn't find a way to keep them from killing you every chance they got, and I didn't want to add that type of frustration to the map.
The Evil Soultaker 13 Aug, 2019 @ 2:29pm
Are the giant red eyeball camera thingies decorative? Or do they do something?
highlytrainedpaw 13 Aug, 2019 @ 1:31pm
ok cool! thanks
cannonf0dder  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 1:09pm
Blue supply pod doors, one of the consoles will open those doors.
Same goes for disposal methods, use the consoles.
highlytrainedpaw 13 Aug, 2019 @ 11:45am
Looks nice! Where is the bucket or how do I clean my mop? Hint? :)
green.lily 13 Aug, 2019 @ 12:05am
What are the disposal methods ?
