Hello Haywood, I'm working on a fix for this mod. Can you tell me if/which sniper rifle items you try on your characters that do not get agile overwatch? Thanks!

Hi, is the mod supported anymore? It doesn't seem to work and says it's outdated. I only have the base game and not sure if the DLCs are needed. I'm subbed to both this and DLC mod.

Hi Oinari, the heritor cane is not a sniper weapon (it's a repeating staff weapon) so I will probably not be modifying it. However, there are a couple of sniper rifles from DLC that I may do. However, that will be uploaded as a separate mod so people without the DLC can still play.

hey overlord.
normally, it takes 3 action points to overwatch with a sniper rifle.
with agile overwatch, the cost to overwatch is reduced from 3 to 1.
you still only make 1 attack, but you have more movement before activating overwatch.
make sense?

@Overlord Cthulhu Sniper rifles require 3 AP to fire so it changes only the Overwatch on the listed weapons to Agile Overwatch so they are able to fire using Overwatch.

I was thinking Agile Overwatch is only for Repeating wepons:

Sniper Rifle Are full atttac wepons and don't benefit from Agile Overwatch.


Examples:

Repeating wepon + Overwatch and 1 AP left = 1 attack on the enemy

Repeating wepon + Overwatch and 2 AP left = 2 attack on the enemy

Repeating wepon + Overwatch and 3 AP left = 3 attack on the enemy


Repeating wepon + Agile Overwatch and 1 AP left = 3 attack on the enemy

I'd say upload it anyway just as an option for making a more 'balanced' modded experience for those who want it. It's definitely something I'd add in just so I wouldn't have to resist the urge to do goofy cheese strategies with snipers or something.

sounds like exactly how snipers should have been. theres a secondary/pistol slot thats near allways short tomid range for a reason!

No it's not on steam. I only have it locally, I wasn't sure it was a mod people would like. Basically, enemies within 3 range of a sniper are too close for the sniper to hit them with regular attacks or overwatch. It means I have to keep things away from my snipers, or have my snipers retreat back into cover and overwatch again when enemies get to close. It's kinda neat.

is that mod on steam? sadly havnt seen one that did anything like that, and would love for a sniper to actualy have range of more then just 2 above rifles.

I use this in combination with a mod that adds minimum range of 3 or 4 to sniper rifles so its a little more balanced and positioning is more important (and I think fun).

This would pair well with the Vanguard Sequential Kill mod with refunds one action point when you land a killing blow. This would allow a sniper hero to kill and overwatch in the same turn. Of course, commanders with Ruthless Killer starting trait can already do this without the mod or Agile Overwatch.

Ahh! hadnt played around with kirko yet (basicly everyone else lol) so didnt realize this lets them move then overwatch.

Hi Dusk Shadow.

Most (all?) sniper weapon's main attack costs all 3 action points to use, so if you are attacking with it, you cannot move on the same turn. The same is true of overwatch. Normally, you cannot activate overwatch for a sniper weapon if you have 2 or fewer action points remaining.

With agile overwatch, you can activate overwatch with only 1 action point instead of 3, even if you have already moved (as far as purple) and don't have enough points to make a regular attack.

This lets you reposition a sniper hero at the start of every turn to get a better angle, at the cost of not choosing the target for your next attack.

does this actualy do anything for snipers? because even w/ all 3 actions for overwatch sniper overwatch is only one shot. and overwatching for snipers allready requires all 3 movements unlike repeating weapons that the actionpoints going into overwatch counts for the number of shots when triggered.....
