One day I want to re-write this entire thing so I can merge all this sound mods into one script that the user can change the file paths themselves. Just haven't had the time or motivation.

The effect should play for all players. The command is vnt_voip_filter_timeout <integer> to set the filter timeout.

Nice, what's the command? And that is a good way to think of it. Also, is the overlay there for other players as well?

You can adjust the length of the overlay with a console command. I had issues with the overlay getting stuck on during high latency so I just made it cut off. Think of it as the comm channel stabilizing.
