A final note, i think you streams also do harm to this development as well. Not entirely but in terms of always saying 'maybe'. So it fudged what was being worked on with maybes and possibilities that allowed people to imagine what the released project might be. And I guess that's the entire problem.

I have to stress this, I have nothing against you as a person. I think for the most part you made some neat ideas. But my criticisms or judgments are not and should never be considered a slight against you.

I don't think it is worth $20 IF you are only using 1 aspect of the game. I think that is fair. That is the only comment I've ever made about the game. I also said the same when it was less and you had less to show.


Well its too late for that sort of roadmap as the plans for release seem to be ch5/localization/porting. I only speculate what the impression of people would be if people knew ch5 would be the last chapter before release? Usually that is a key feature in buying a EA game. Looking what the game will have when its released. Mainly because there are no guarantees there will be more content added after release.

I suppose my argument comes down to now that it's not that we need a roadmap its more that we needed one. The past is past. But it still sends ripples to the outcome of the present.

Our development process don't support the sort of public roadmap you wish we had. Sorry if that is disappointing.

I really do consider it dishonest to sell them the game just because I play it. Just like for you to tell them to buy it because you are making it. We both profit if they buy it. But in the end I'm not here to conciously or unconciously mislead someone. I want to make sure they make an educated decision. So if they are asking me in my stream I will of course answer them with the best of my ability.

The $20 as a refund was your intent, maybe. But as I understand I never asked for a refund but accepted the conditions of $20 for "not asking for a roadmap anymore". With that in mind, it might have first been a refund but it quickly became a bribe/payment to stop asking for something.

About the others, what I was trying to explain in discord. Kids who aren't exactly major money earners come to me asking if they should buy it. I can't say, well i play for 1k hours cuz i make money streaming so you should. That would be insane. I ask them what they enjoy about the game and then I explain what the game offers and that there is no promise any of those features to be expanded upon in the short term. Short term being 6 months. So I'd suggest to wait for another update and buy a game they will fully enjoy now and not buy a game that's still in development that has no clear path of a promised feature list.

Well as I tried to say, Its not about me but about others. I play the game for 1000 hours not because I straight out enjoy it but because I earn money and have a community built around this game. If I wasn't streaming I would have never bought this game. Although, I admit that would be a mistake as I do think the story is interesting enough. But overall not interesting enough for $20. Maybe $5-10. I just don't utilize LBS/Map Tools. And as said I only utilize twitch mode because i stream. If I wasn't streaming , then I wouldn't be using twitch mode and that would delete about 99% of my play time hours.

Hey hey! Just to pop by and say: The $20 was intended as a refund. It makes me a bit sad that after playing the game for 1000 hours you still have doubts on whether it's worth any amount of money.

I didn't ask for a refund. they offered me a refund. I never accepted a refund or denied one. I only doubted they would give money. My issue was that I can't say a game is worth spending money on if I have no idea as the state or future of the game. It's pretty obvious. THe current state the game isn't worth $20. So why would i tell someone to invest money in something with a unsure future. So they offered me $20 in lieu of them providing a written out road map. The talk of refunds were all from developer side for some reason.

Its not the first incident. Back after ch4 came out, the twitch extension didn't have the new enemies as spawnable, so I asked on support if they had an ETA on when the extension would be updated. I was given the response by Eric himself of "Two week to never". He later apologized on stream and DMd me. I think maybe the team may just too small and too inexperienced (as they admit) to really keep all the game modes up to date and current. We might just expect too much out of them.

I feel like this incident could be a sign that CDDZ is going to have a slow and painful death... (no updates for years and the player base will slowly die off)

As you can see at the bottom of the screen, there is a picture of the dev giving this person $20 to stop asking for a roadmap. If you really are quite a stickler on firm proof, go join the clone drone discord, keep scrolling up on the #general chat and go back to August 22, 2019 to see the entire conversation between the dev and paranoidmelon, out in the public for anyone to read.

The devs payed someone $20 to stop talking about adding a roadmap for this game. What a deal, paying someone to not suggest an idea that should be added to the game to give reasons on why to buy this game. Oh well, the devs will just assume that 1 person is the only one asking for that idea, even though other people asked for it. But hey, no roadmap of the game means no knowledge of the future of this game, so now you are just gambling on a game you have no idea what it will offer in the future!

Well he's a minority of the clone drone community that pays attention to that stuff. A majority of the clone drone community never pays attention to anything except murdering robots.
