Sorry for the late answer! Sounds like you enjoyed it a lot, and I'm glad to hear it! Good job for solving it, this one is definitely a tough nut to crack.
@mentallentil
Sorry to you too for my unresponsiveness to all your comments on my workshop lately... I will go through them all in the coming days to answer them. In the meantime, thank you for playing this one!
mentallentil 18 Jan @ 6:51pm
dude i overcomplicated this so much my solution was 20 minutes long and didnt get me anywhere but hey the puzzle state was different i guess. good map i managed to figure out the easy way that actually works
Mattchew 17 Oct, 2024 @ 9:16pm
My god what a beast. Room 4's (or should I say 2 and 4) logic is unreal. I heard this map made very good use of the futbol, but its magical seeing how well it was used here. Figuring out the ultimate purpose of Room 2 gave me life. All of that for a ceiling surface! God damn. I also enjoyed Room 3 as well, I liked how many times you have to remove/re-insert the futbol. Faved without a doubt!

@SpielSatzFail
Big congrats for solving this one! The last part in particular can indeed be quite overwhelming. You're right that the move you said you skipped is quite minor, so I don't mind. All the crazy stuff you mention that's possible with futbols was indeed not what I wanted to go for. In fact, it made things considerably harder for me to design the maps because I had to take into account those crazy moves as potential unintended solutions. Initially, I also wasn't sure whether I would include futbol throwing as part of the solution, but it felt way too difficult to prevent entirely so I chose to embrace it. Anyway, onto the main dish now...
SpielSatzFail 6 Sep, 2023 @ 5:19am
Ok I think I got it now. I was able to skip a tiny part in the intended solution video by Joric. I skipped the futbol maneuver @5:00 and never used the ceiling panel/portal. As far as I can remember that was because I previously swapped cubes in room #2 somehow (with a later sacrifice) - which was hard work! So I'd say it was a far more complicated way that made me skip a rather insignificant move. I could try to reproduce that and provide a video if you like...
SpielSatzFail 5 Sep, 2023 @ 6:24pm
Made it. Took me ages to complete (in a single continuous session). My brain is dried out. My problem is that right now I have no power left to check the walkthrough, and once my sanity returns I won't remember how I solved this beast ;D sorry but an ON/OFF map this size, with futbols and the backtracking can't be less than a 7...
I already struggled with room no.3, but no.4 was just insane. The last move ( intentionally erasing your portal gun ) was cool though.
For me the difficulty does not come from what you have to do, but what options you have to eliminate . You need to see what correlates. The end move was clear, but working with room #2 was tough.
In summary these ON/OFF maps are not my favourite ones. I'm glad the futbols weren't used in additional crazy ways (juggling, parking, swapping...). I give it a subjective "only just" thumbs up for it is really clever and got me out of my poor real life for some time ;-)

@cnh2r
No, thank YOU for playing! You've been breezing through my workshop for a while, when I was away from Portal, and I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner to all of your nice comments.
cnh2r 6 May, 2023 @ 2:00pm
Another brilliant puzzle. Thank you for creating.
Leo  [author] 28 Mar, 2022 @ 3:04pm
@Mr Fab
Well done beating it, the last room is definitely no small feat!
Mr Fab 19 Mar, 2022 @ 10:59am
I like chamber 4 ! Great logic with the portal button and the futbol :steamthumbsup: Favorited !
Leo  [author] 17 Feb, 2022 @ 3:42am
@realbeing2453tyhr
Understandable. I would have preferred to not use it either, but it seemed hard to me to prevent it causing unintended solutions, so I embraced it instead. If I had to make another of those maps now, perhaps I would change my mind on that.
Lasse Hölderlin 2 Feb, 2022 @ 4:32am
I really hate futbol throwing.
Leo  [author] 30 Apr, 2021 @ 3:09am
@Aneonen
Good job solving this tough puzzle! The move you were able to avoid isn't the cleanest so it's interesting that you found a way around it. And a quite smart way, at that! Anyway thank you once more for playing and for leaving a comment
Aneonen 23 Apr, 2021 @ 1:51pm
Nice puzzle! The return of the 2nd room was fun to return to, and it was quite cool to see a nice utilization of short 1-tile flings. Rejecting the 2nd room's advancement in the last step was clever, as others have mentioned.
I was able to avoid the toss-shoot-catch move as seen in the hint by juggling my futbol between two floor surfaces then shooting the ceiling to casually catch it.
bullfrog 16 Oct, 2020 @ 10:30pm
Even though I remembered most of the moves, this still takes a while to solve and is still an excellent puzzle.
Leo  [author] 17 Jun, 2020 @ 11:11am
@Spider_Dawg
You were indeed so close, really you can proud to have made it that far, this is quite a step up in difficulty from #1 already. Again, #3 is yet on another level, I wish you luck and courage! Thank you for playing and commenting, I really appreciate it :)
Spider_Dawg 16 Jun, 2020 @ 5:02pm
My brain hurts. After spending all day on this, I gave up and watched a solution video. Turns out I was about six seconds from finishing, but didn't think to intentionally dissolve the cube . I got all the hard stuff! Was just too concerned about losing my portals . Fun puzzle, now for number three.
Leo  [author] 1 Jun, 2020 @ 2:00am
@Senator Brainstrong
Yeah Pandemonium was definitely meant to be played last haha! Again you're right that your move at 2:06 is not required, but this time it doesn't skip anything. Also I want to say that it feels really nice watching you play, at 6:30 the way you executed the flings was highly satisfying!
It's not completely out of the question that I make a 4th one some day, but I really doubt it would be harder than #3. If anything, I think it would be around the level of #2. Anyway thanks for playing all 3 maps!
Alric 30 May, 2020 @ 11:47am
I played this series in a weird order, starting with #3 and ending with #2. Pandex and Cradle felt like a walk in the park after Pandemonium, maybe I would have strained my brain less had I played it last :D I liked and favourited all the maps, they have a unique atmosphere and feel satisfying to solve. Is there any chance of a 4th, even harder map? I guess it would be painful to playtest and prevent all the unintended solutions, but I'm sure many would appreciate such a challenge!

My solution: https://youtu.be/6qfFHm8sni4
I'm sure I once again did an unintended move at 2:06 :D Hopefully the video quality is slightly better this time.

@Teo
Thanks a lot, and well done solving this one! Crazy is a pretty good word to describe it ;)
Teo 13 Mar, 2020 @ 12:37pm
Jesus christ my dude, that last room is insane. Super unique layouts with really crazy logic. Great job
Leo  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 1:16pm
@Spacekitty
Thanks a lot for the nice words! The last room is definitely very challenging, great work solving it in the end! I'm glad you enjoyed the experience.
SpKi 13 Feb, 2020 @ 11:24am
Finally solved this one. I was able to figure out the first two rooms at a somewhat reasonable pace, though the third room gave me some trouble. But that last room was madness - the way you linked the 2nd room with the last room together was very clever. Tons of great ideas and reuses here, aswell as some wonderful visuals. One of the best maps I have played recently, I gotta say. Thumbs up and favorited.

@nock
Thanks a lot for the very, veeeery interesting video. I'm happy you enjoyed how this map expands on the concept. And yeah, I definitely didn't want to make a multichamber map without linking some rooms together.
nock 7 Oct, 2019 @ 1:10am
I loved this one. What a great extension of the original puzzle. I loved how intricate the moves were (especially in the final room) and that you reused elements of the 2nd puzzle in the final one . Great Job Leo!

Admittedly this isn't my greatest work, and as you said maybe you weren't in the mood. Either way you absolutely have the right to think it's awful, I'm fine with that :) sorry you wasted your time on a map you didn't enjoy, and thanks for playing anyway!
| \_/ () 24 Sep, 2019 @ 6:27am
Maybe I'm just not in the mood, but all the rooms felt tedious. Only in the last one I made some progress that that made me think it's not so bad, but later, after many minutes, I was so close to the end and then it dawned on me - what I was trying is impossible and I had to start thinking of a strategy all over again.
Hopefully there's nothing shameful of admitting defeat. I give up.

I saw Joric's video and it had almost nothing to do with what I was doing.

@tuleby (CZ)
Yep this one is definitely not easy. Thanks for playing, it's an honour :)

:p2aperture: Nothing for newbies, nice medium puzzle. Thanks :SpRad_ThumbsUp:

@asears16
I'm happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing and for recording your run :)
asears16 20 Sep, 2019 @ 4:10pm
An excellent group of puzzles that I feel expanded on the concepts from the first map quite well! It took me a very long time to solve the final puzzle. Fantastic work!

yeah the time zone thing screws up alot. most of you all are in a zone where its early evening here and early morning there. oops its not bulldog its bullfrog. im so sorry bullfrog. i saw it as dog all this time. oh boy. some how it works though , everyone is so nice ,especially when i get stuck like that and annoy everyone with my constant questions. love you all !!! :steamhappy:

@Nobody No-One
Lol. Dark Rozen begone!
Leo  [author] 11 Sep, 2019 @ 1:27am
@jandlml
Sorry I would've watched you play to try and help you, but the timezones make it difficult. I'm glad you did it eventually! I'll thank bulldog as well. Thank you bulldog!
@bulldog
Thanks for the fav :P
bullfrog 11 Sep, 2019 @ 12:18am
I incorrectly thought I’d already added this map to my favourites - now rectified :)
jandlml 10 Sep, 2019 @ 11:27pm
oh my gosh. i finally finished this map. excellent!! i have to thank bulldog for keeping me sane and helping me without actually telling me any moves. the move that had me stuck for 2 days is throwing the futbol up and quickly making a portal in the ceiling. i had tried to do it with a portal but it kept breaking. i knew everything else. its so frustrating when you go blank on one move. definitely faved!!
jandlml 10 Sep, 2019 @ 8:25pm
i can get the futbol back to its holder or get up to the pedestal button. but not both
jandlml 10 Sep, 2019 @ 8:13pm
oh and dont worry about the difficulty rating. i think its subjective.
jandlml 10 Sep, 2019 @ 8:12pm
i just wish i could have someone watch me play and kind of tell me where to look but not give me the move.
Nobody No-One 10 Sep, 2019 @ 2:40pm
Well personally I think the most appropriate difficulty for Room 4 was 1/10 but maybe I just got lucky :P
Leo  [author] 10 Sep, 2019 @ 4:23am
Godammit. 6.5/10, I won't change it again :P
Mikeastro 10 Sep, 2019 @ 2:10am
I personally think 6/10 was very appropriate but maybe I just got lucky finding the solution relatively quickly
Joric 10 Sep, 2019 @ 2:04am
@Leomievs yeah from his starting point it takes less than a minute to finish the map, but it's so hard to guess the right sequence, that it affects the difficulty rating.
Leo  [author] 10 Sep, 2019 @ 1:19am
@jandlml
Joric is right, you're almost done. Your 2 goals are correct (you do need to get to the pedestal button that opens the exit of course, Joric probably thought you were talking about the one that spawns the futbol). You know you can always watch the short hint video I added in the notes in the description. It only shows one move.
@Joric
Because of how jandlml seems to have trouble and your opinion, I did change the difficulty rating to 7/10 ;)
Joric 9 Sep, 2019 @ 11:57pm
you don't need pedestal button anymore
jandlml 9 Sep, 2019 @ 11:47pm
well i guess third time is not a charm. have to try again tomorrow. hardest game ive played in a long time
jandlml 9 Sep, 2019 @ 11:26pm
i dont know why this is so difficult for me. i have 2 more goals to set up the solution. get the futbol back to the door receptacle and get myself to the pedestal button. ugg
jandlml 9 Sep, 2019 @ 10:54pm
ok great. moving along. not 50 seconds worth but moving none the less
