@UnexpectedPenguin Thank you so much for playing and commenting! Glad you enjoyed :)

Very nice map, enjoyed figuring it out! I was stumped for a bit, but realizing i had to coat not just the "unlocked" grated portal panel(good use of bootstrapping by the way!) but place speed gel through the laser portal was a great "aha!" moment. Having to use to cube to access the gel room without crossing the fizzler is a small thing that makes it all the more tricky. I also like how the angled panels pop out of the floor. It that a hammer-editor specific trick?

Love all the re-use of the speed gel, and I especially like how you used two gel dropper pointed at one surface. It makes coating the floor much easier, so you don't have to worry about not coating the floor right in front of the portal.Think I'll use that trick in my own maps! Just a very nice puzzle with all bit of little details and steps for a difficult(for me at least) but fun experience

I thought the ramp to the gel button was useless at first because I could get there with portals, then a few minutes later when I needed it, it all just clicked in my head. Really good map

This map is so unique, I love it so much. Been a few years since I first cracked it...almost better the second time around! :p2aperture:

This is quite different, but interesting and fun. Didn’t take too too long but wasn’t super easy either. Had the most trouble getting to the second laser platform since I didn’t realize that it was possible to have a runway on the starting side of the fizzler[/spoiler)]ceiling portals though :P
zigzagtenniscoe 31 Mar, 2024 @ 9:26pm
Everything fell into place pretty quickly after that as I began turning everything I could into a runway, including the initial laser lane at the end… I loved how, like in many of your chambers, you force the player into realizing there’s more than one purpose for things - and the secondary purpose isn’t always immediately obvious.

My only issue? It’s not very clear what the elevated area near the start is for. Halfway through my solution I had to jump on the laser cube, as you’ll see, to see what was what. Hard to tell that one was supposed to be a bootstrapping laser. If it were me I might have put that behind a 1-tall glass that one would still have to fling over.

Difficulty: 6.5/10
Design: 9.5/10
Enjoyed: 7.75/10

Nice straightforward puzzle with a logical solution.

This took a lot of time was worth it. Medium rating is well deserved. Literally putting orange gel everywhere. The bootstrapping of lasers is nice too !

Excellent. Thanks for creating.

I just completed this puzzle and man was it a lot of fun! Took me quite a bit to grasp the concept, and I kept hitting blocks where I didn't know what to do, but eventually overcame them. Good puzzle, very cleverly thought out and designed.

@TheMadLadChadMcgee Thank you! <3 Really glad you enjoyed it :)

Oh wow. Piecing together the different parts of this level was very satisfying in the end, it took some time to figure out. Amazing chamber design. My favorite test chamber!

@Portal2Player Thanks very much for the continued support! :) I've been a little busy lately (mostly University studies, and working on Portal 2: Desolation) hence the lack of workshop puzzles in the last six months, but I'd love to make more soon too. Hang in there!
Portal2Player 1 Jul, 2020 @ 1:41pm
I really wanna say that I love your puzzles and have been playing them for years. I hope you can make more of them soon. :). by the way, I would love it if you checked out some of my puzzles, that would be real great. keep making puzzles!:steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy:

Follows the rule: If there is a portal, create a speed runway! Thanks for your excellent work!

I liked this puzzle. Thank you for using two gel dispensers for maximum coverage. I wish more creators would do this.

Very nice. The layout was intimidating at first. Then closer observation leads one logically through the steps necessary to reach the exit.
Mrk 21 Oct, 2019 @ 11:23am
Cool puzzle! I liked how the logic of the puzzle flowed so smoothly until the final clever move
metadavid 12 Oct, 2019 @ 10:21pm
Wow. That was enormous. I've no idea how I managed to solve that. Even less, how you managed to design it. A lot of fun and very satisfying to finish it

Great gel map!
Demon Arisen  [author] 5 Oct, 2019 @ 1:55am
@Jade BGE Yep, that's totally intended. The second laser is purely there to make the receiver it's attached to activated permanently. Thanks for playing!
Jade BGE 4 Oct, 2019 @ 6:15pm
This was a very fun map. Wasn't sure about the second laser area though as I didn't really use it. I aimed the main laser through it's portable surface through the portable grated ceiling at the receiver to turn the secondary laser on. If you get my meaning?
Awesome job. Always a treat to play your maps! Thanks

Great puzzle! I liked the way the logic flowed in this one.

This is why I like gel as a test element - even if I'm not sure where to splat it, it's usually best to paint wherever possible. Later it usually turns out that "Oh, I DID need gel there!" - it's instant progress without even realising it. That's always a good motivation to keep testing.

I had a blast playng. Excellent work!
Leo 24 Sep, 2019 @ 3:31am
Cool map! I like the setup that automatically respawns the cube even if you don't want to. It's a very elegant way to force more steps. Great work!

Very cool puzzle! I figured out the ending sequence while struggling in the middle bit, that gel speedway combined with the laser emitter was really clever Favorite :)

Nice puzzle, Got near the end, just to realise what I needed. Here's a short run I played on stream https://youtu.be/P-b_XtNyMpY?t=324
Mikeastro 17 Sep, 2019 @ 11:20am
@klaus.sfc01 Just because this time I was willing to give your upcoming map a go once it comes out, does not mean that everyone will or should. If you are afraid your map is too similar to the original and the author does not approve of your work, just let it rest and try to come up with more original designs. @Demon Arisen my apologies for letting this drag on
Narkodes 17 Sep, 2019 @ 11:16am
Lol
Demon Arisen  [author] 17 Sep, 2019 @ 11:02am
@klaus.sfc01 No way dude, I don't want to spend my time policing your workshop. Just please don't copy my puzzles.
klaus.sfc01 17 Sep, 2019 @ 10:58am
just a question. i already asked mikastro and he confirmed that maps inspired by the map makers will be online for a short time and the map makers decide if it will stay online. so for short. i will upload them for a short time. and if its inspired from one of your maps you can decide if it stays online or gets deleted.
klaus.sfc01 17 Sep, 2019 @ 10:55am
so i deleted the stolen puzzles and hope that this never happens in future again.
quatrus 17 Sep, 2019 @ 10:54am
Nice orange paint puzzles. Thanks for creating again.
Demon Arisen  [author] 17 Sep, 2019 @ 9:22am
Just the stolen ones. Taking inspiration is fine and welcome, but stealing/copying/plagiarism is not.
