One of the best fighters this game has ever seen, a mix of combo tools and originality is what this character excels in. Can't recommend this enough <3

2 things i would like to see a change in first of all i would prefer the pokemon name to actually be gardevoir for one and 2 the recovery seems a bit broken you could have made her use teleport instead because if an enemy hits you high enough you can just use your up special to stay up there while you recover and they wont be able to reach you therefore unable to do anything about it

Another idea is that she could have command inputs, since she comes from a fighting game you could add inputs that are stronger than using special moves e.g. you could add the input for neutral B and make it stronger. Next is her specials, although they are really good they do so little damage and they should be increased in strength, Sana's down B however needs some changes, to buff it you could make it a reflector however this move needs some nerfs, first slow down how fast she heals her self, next you could make the move have some end lag OR you could make it so that she takes 1.5x more damage when using it. Another thing is her meteor smashes/spikes e.g. down air, they do so little and if you want to spike someone first you would have to get them to 200%+(I'm guessing here) so increase how far they launch people downwards, Finally increase the damage in her aerials and normal attacks.

Ok so I have some ideas on how to make 'Sana' better, first would be to change her sprite sheet and hitboxes because many of Sana's moves are REALLY close range that it is impossible to kill, if you change the sprite sheet and change the hitboxes to be the same size as the new sprite sheet then she would already be better. Next her smash attacks are weak, in a normal game it would kill about 150% so the idea is to make them a bit more stronger.

@Wigd, that was intentional, this was really just made for fun and to see if i could translate a 2D fighter into a smash character, but you raise a very good point.
I've kinda put this all on hold for now, work and life kicking me in the ass, but if/when i come back i will definitely change that.

I'm not sure if I downloaded an old version somehow, my game is bugged, or something else, but Up-b seems a little insane. Currently, my rivals of aether client is running in the background and the match has been going on for over 10 minutes and up-b still hasn't run out. I suggest putting a reasonable time limit on how long the platform lasts for. Though if this character is just designed for some dumb fun then feel free to ignore this message.

Incase anyone is curious as to why this is a problem for balancing, all you'd have to do to win almost everysingle match (even against most other workshop characters) is get the stock/percentage lead and then double jump from the highest platform on the stage, get as close to the blast zone as possible, up special and now virtually no character can reach you safely (or at all in most cases). Taken any damage at all? Just down special and heal yourself to full. And the enemy literally can't stop you depending on who they're playing

I havent abandoned this, I've just been busy and waiting on Dan and Co to update the website with more code info.

Character seems pretty good. I experienced Rivals crash while checking out her moves in training mode (I was using her recovery a couple times if that helps.) I don't remember exactly what the crash log said it was about but it may have been a null reference exception?

@uno ah. Ok. That makes sense actually, would you like to throw in some games to sometime? Like I said, I dont actually have anyone to play against and the fact that I made it means I have a set way In my mind to play, that's why i didnt notice dstrong being op, i didnt use it a whole lot.

I somewhat get what Deno is referring to, but i think he sees the cause but not the right effect. her aireals are not bad, actrually quite good, and her bair beats out zetterburn up b, so thats fine to me, but i think what he's referring to (and correct me if im wrong), those aireals which are p good, are overshowdowed by the strenght of her on ground gameplay, making her play style feel "unecessary" cuz doing some of the stuff it seemed u intended (with aireal combos, and having to have good movement to hit those combos) are overshadowed by her incredibly strong ground game. Thus making her "optimal" playstyle be very different from what it seems like you intended. (also i dont have a problem with her slow dash speed cuz of how fast her aireal drift is, so i woudlnt change that, i think thats the main thing that plays well

She probably is weird. Feels ok to me, but I played Absa and mess with around with Samus in melee. Both of which I've heard feel odd compared to the rest of the roster.

@Lotus | Deno not sure what 'unnecessary' means; I wanted it to kind of revolve around wavedashing/landing and extending combos with nspecial. If you (or anyone really) have time and are willing could we get a few matches in? I don't have any people to play/test her against and cpus are far from ideal opponents.

I feel like this character is so freaking weird. Like her aerials are all bad no lie. Really small hit boxes on them. Her dash is unreasonably slow. But then you flop to her strong attacks and they're small but do such massive damage. Her specials feel strange too. I like her, but her play style is unnecessary. I think if you were to re-do how she works a little to make her feel more fluid and comfortable would make her better. I love the idea!

@uno ah i gotcha.
Maybe i could lower the KB a good bit, increase the scaling, and add some end lag. Allows it to be a reliable kill at higher percents, but lower % you have better options, and keeps it from comboing into itself, and allows for a punish.

the damage part is fine, she doesnt NEED more damage output, but if dsmash was nerfed she prolly could use like 1% more on some moves, but its not that important. In terms of stacking up to other characters, she has a whole lot of meh stuff, and then she has jab dsmash (ik im really going ham on this dsmash thing, but it just kinda takes some of the intrigue away from her imo cuz the most optimal thing in almost every situation is to dsmash, if i get a nice stun with side b, unless there below 40% i honestly dont have a reason to go for a good combo extension cuz it would prolly get me less damage than a dsmash into tech chase, and the whole intrigue of the side b and neutral b is kinda lost when u can get just as good of a follow up off straight jab. So thats why i think what i think, but i super respect your work and thats just what ive noticed from my sessions of playing her.

@BagOfPINGAS i see what you mean, but jab 1 combos directly into dsmash, and so its p easy to get one and its even better since cornering someone isnt super hard (cuz of the projectile) so corning them and then hitting them with jab into dsmash is craaaazy good. Straight kills at 70% good, and in a game where getting early kills is rough, and it being so incredibly much better than all her other kill options, theres not much reason to use anything else. Also dsmash into they tech, can be p easily comboed into dsmash again (which the first one would push them far enough to the corner to make the second one send off stage). But yeah, its just that dsmash kinda makes her other options not as relavant cuz of how much better it is. Like her super dope bair just isnt the best option to use when edge guarding either cuz dsmash is just safer and works just as well when it comes to covering lower recovery.

@uno, Downsmash is strong, but its shallow angle makes it easy to tech. I'll may nerf it a tad if other people say something.
I'm not sure about increasing overall damage, I never had problem stacking up damage with her, just finishing off a stock.
I'm just not sure where she sits on the Broken-Worthless scale. I'm shit at the game so my judgement is not great and not many people are saying anything about her.

Shes super dope, but her downsmash might be a little much, while her fsmash might be a little too small, however her damage output overall is kinda low, but u may have done that on purpose. Other than that i do really like her, nice!

@AframDrank, yeah someone else said she was loud. I guess i didnt notice since i never play with music on. I've already lowered the volume of everything. All i have left to do is get the AI running, which is posing a huge problem as i can't seem to detect what the AI% is at.

It just has a long cooldown. I'm changing that when i update it.
You will be able to place and remove it with only a second or so delay, but the third jump is going away.

I've already made some changes mentioned in the "Some Criticism" discussion by Fallen Feces, one of note being FSpecial will have more use.

I'll update the fighter Friday after I get off work.

If anyone else has suggestions or opinions on balancing/changing hitboxes please comment here or in the discussion.
