I'm no longer working on GMOD addons and decided to no longer update this;

If you want a good adblock take a peek at StarLight's Adblock/Anti-adware

Lord Tyler advertises his VJ base mod all of a sudden
"Lord Tyler blesses this server with his workshop content"
Would be great if you could add that too.

With this current state all this addon does is hook remove. It is not this addon that causes long load times.

takes so long to load into servers that have this mod on

A lot of workshop mods are honestly just as guilty as scummy DarkRP server owners.

Here before all the RP server owners start sweating their greasy hair off trying to get around this.

No not community chat tags, more like for instance if there is an addon that has chat advertising in it and it has like [<Addon Name>] This server is using X by X; visit <website> to learn more.

what do you mean by chat tags, just like "[poop] username"?

Hi Vuthakral,

Thank you for the questions.

I'm finishing my exams, and after the exam period finishes (48ish hours from now) I'll be going through and re-writing logic such as better config options.

The configuration options will allow servers as well as players to add their own hooks without the need for me to add them in manually.

So I think that will eliminate the chance of me being buyest, I'll be effectively implementing the same concept as browser adblockers (pattern matching and end-user config).

As to your second question; As mentioned pattern matching I think will play a key role in this, but the end of the day will just count on the community to report hooks as well as any ads I encounter.

For example; If someone WANTS an advert to appear I can also add a whitelist option.

If you're serious about this, I can appreciate what you're working towards, but I have two questions:

1) You will be checking the reported hook names for being used for "advertising" or other scummy displays before just outright adding them right? I imagine a lot of people would try submitting legit hooks to try and cripple addons.

2) Once someone's shitty hook gets added to your list, whats really just stopping them from renaming their hook?
