very strange
wood chain works perfectly fine
steel chain is kind of pointless until it supports more ores (gold, silver, plasteel, maybe modded things like mithril, etc.)
Any chance you could add the ebony wood and cherry wood from zen garden as possible fuel for the tanning liquor recipe from wood?
I play a new game with <Vanilla Fishing Expanded> Https:/steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1914064942
Could you see for a potential compatibility?
Many thanks for all the simple chains mods
Am I overthinking this? Just don't want to be so imposing, and also don't want to spend all the time adapting both DLL capabilities when Owlchemist could switch dependency and save me a lot of time, or render a lot of my time wasted if i update to recognize both.
It appears the common dragons now drop a basic dragon leather type whereas the rares drop "True" and "Rich" dragon leathers, versus [for instance: silver dragon leather, cryo-dragon leather, rock-dragon leather, etc.] each dragon dropping their own unique. I have all the code ready if the powers at be decide to adopt how Dragon Mod went about it.
Interestingly enough, Megafauna does not introduce any new leathers. Kinda a missed opportunity to make some cool leather types and attributes? I think so... All dinosaur leather types are based on base game leathers, which are precisely what Owlchemist: Simple Leather addresses.
Rephrased, you don't even need my patch to have compatibility with Megafauna, only Owlchemist's leather mod. That would be a fun project, though, making custom leather types for all the dinos!!
Please keep me appraised on developments.
I've some questions, sorry if I bother you:
will you add compatibility for Megafauna? it's an awesome mod
I like to complicate the game too :) do you have other mod suggestions?
will you update for 1.1?
Thank you again
At my height, I was playing with all of Owlchemist's simple chains, himesama's No Water, No Life, dubwise's Dubs Bad Hygiene, LimeTreeSnake's Ammunition ... and really any mod that added layers of realism and complexity.
I was banging my head wondering why my patches weren't being accepted for Fantasy Goblins and Black Widows 2.0 ... only to realize I was being a dum dum and hadn't loaded Humanoid Alien Races and 2.0 JecsTools along side them. The life of a derp sometime haha. You're gtg friend.
@lilwhitemouse
thanks for recommendation on /def/ xpathing. All mods were adjusted accordingly, which everyone should notice a 2-5% increase in load performance!
Could you perhaps add patches for Giraffes, Fantasy Goblins and Black Widows 2.0 mods?

Donkey leather wasn’t very different from the regular leather, so donkeys have been updated to drop regular hide instead of their own unique type.
I was unaware there was performance concerns with this patch. I added all code to Simple-Chains-Leather-Patch repository on github and would welcome ideas for tuning.
Exception filling window for Verse.ImmediateWindow: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at Verse.EnvironmentStatsDrawer.GetRoomRoleLabel (Verse.Room room) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
at Verse.EnvironmentStatsDrawer.FillWindow (Rect windowRect) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
...etc
They go away when I turn off this mod, and I can again see stats.
Any idea what's going on?
Probably soft fur ("luxury fur")

I loaded a game with all 11 of Oskar Potocki's Vanilla Animal packs, with Owlchemist's Simple Chains: Leather, and my own Simple Chains: Leather Additional Patch, and could not recrate that pesky cross-reference error. If I stumble across the reason I'll be sure to try and fix it!
It's so.l odd having magic donkey leather ;)
Could not resolve cross-reference to Verse.ThingDef named Leather_Wolf (wanter=thingDefs)
Just using all of the Vanilla Animals packs.
I checked on Vanilla Fishing Expanded, and, sadly, no leathers to speak of.
