Will this be updated to 1.2?

I'm not sure the patch for vanilla animals expanded - desert is working. When I butcher lions I get lion pelt, a directly usable leather.
Prester 11 Jun, 2020 @ 10:40am
strange bug where i have prepared pelt but noone fills them up. then, when i am preparing new leather another pawn fills the vets. but only as long as the first pawn prepares the new leather.

...

very strange

wood chain works perfectly fine

steel chain is kind of pointless until it supports more ores (gold, silver, plasteel, maybe modded things like mithril, etc.)
Gryphonheart 1 Jun, 2020 @ 8:06pm
Thanks for this ;)

Any chance you could add the ebony wood and cherry wood from zen garden as possible fuel for the tanning liquor recipe from wood?
Dametri 27 May, 2020 @ 6:47am
I went ahead and made a patch for this and Simple Chains: Leather to use Syrchalis's Universal Fermenter.
Uncle Rico 27 May, 2020 @ 1:55am
Pelador's fermenter would be much appreciated.
Alchemyst 28 Apr, 2020 @ 10:58pm
I like your simple chains mods series.
I play a new game with <Vanilla Fishing Expanded> Https:/steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1914064942
Could you see for a potential compatibility?
Many thanks for all the simple chains mods
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 28 Apr, 2020 @ 4:36pm
Also, would y'all like compatibility with Pelador's Fermenter mod? Yes, we could modify the tanning vats or even tweak Syrchalis' universal fermenter to accept more than 75 units at a time, but I've heard of end-game pains of players who want mass-production capabilities. Pelador's mod, at least some of the buildings, can process up to 250 units at a time and I thould would be a good end-game solution. I think I could hook into Pelador's DLL system and design, but will only consider doing so if there's consensus we'd all like to see that happen.
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 28 Apr, 2020 @ 4:29pm
I've got the updates written for dependency on the new DLL that Syrchalis wrote within Universal Fermenter mod, but I've been holding off pushing it out to see whether Owlchemist chooses--or has time--to shift dependency as well. If Owlchemist doesn't, then I'd have to either force everyone to install Syrchalis mod to use this one, or modify all the comp properties [we're easily over 50+ by now] of every patch to recognize both Owlchemist's and Syrchalis' DLL's as some users may not want to be required to install another mod just to use it's DLL properties.

Am I overthinking this? Just don't want to be so imposing, and also don't want to spend all the time adapting both DLL capabilities when Owlchemist could switch dependency and save me a lot of time, or render a lot of my time wasted if i update to recognize both.
San-Kyu 27 Apr, 2020 @ 11:21pm
Does this mod make use of the updated version of Syrchalis' Universal Fermenter? I heard that version has performance upgrades that could be nice to see.
Zer0_Requiem 5 Apr, 2020 @ 7:00pm
Perhaps but thats all Onyx plans on adding really
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 5 Apr, 2020 @ 6:55pm
hmm.. you referring to insulation stats? If so, it wouldn't be that difficult to make customer leathers based on one or many of the mods this patch already targets.
Zer0_Requiem 1 Apr, 2020 @ 5:49pm
So my bad I completely forgot to respond. there are plans in the Future to add something like Hot, Cold and High (Temperate) leathers but thats about it
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 22 Mar, 2020 @ 6:02pm
that'd be cool.

It appears the common dragons now drop a basic dragon leather type whereas the rares drop "True" and "Rich" dragon leathers, versus [for instance: silver dragon leather, cryo-dragon leather, rock-dragon leather, etc.] each dragon dropping their own unique. I have all the code ready if the powers at be decide to adopt how Dragon Mod went about it.
Zer0_Requiem 22 Mar, 2020 @ 5:40pm
I can ask since I've been helping with its development
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 22 Mar, 2020 @ 5:24pm
It's too bad Dragon Mod wasn't fully revived, as there were seven unique leathers it introduced. Dragon's Descent offers three unique, but hey, it's better than none!
Zer0_Requiem 21 Mar, 2020 @ 5:00pm
Oh God Spiders No 3 Mar, 2020 @ 4:02pm
Thanks for putting this together
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 27 Feb, 2020 @ 10:09pm
This patch should be good for 1.1 but we'll continue to monitor the dependent mods for any abnormalities.

Interestingly enough, Megafauna does not introduce any new leathers. Kinda a missed opportunity to make some cool leather types and attributes? I think so... All dinosaur leather types are based on base game leathers, which are precisely what Owlchemist: Simple Leather addresses.

Rephrased, you don't even need my patch to have compatibility with Megafauna, only Owlchemist's leather mod. That would be a fun project, though, making custom leather types for all the dinos!!

Please keep me appraised on developments.
ObsceneNickname 26 Feb, 2020 @ 2:29am
Hello, thank you for your mods :)
I've some questions, sorry if I bother you:
will you add compatibility for Megafauna? it's an awesome mod
I like to complicate the game too :) do you have other mod suggestions?
will you update for 1.1?
Thank you again
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 11 Feb, 2020 @ 6:57pm
I too enjoy making Rimworld unnecessarily difficult. I even modified Owlchemist's Simple Chains: Steel to where I removed the ability to use iron as a building material, meaning I had to process iron with coal to make steel. so many processes! l loved it.

At my height, I was playing with all of Owlchemist's simple chains, himesama's No Water, No Life, dubwise's Dubs Bad Hygiene, LimeTreeSnake's Ammunition ... and really any mod that added layers of realism and complexity.
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 11 Feb, 2020 @ 6:45pm
@Mirith
I was banging my head wondering why my patches weren't being accepted for Fantasy Goblins and Black Widows 2.0 ... only to realize I was being a dum dum and hadn't loaded Humanoid Alien Races and 2.0 JecsTools along side them. The life of a derp sometime haha. You're gtg friend.

@lilwhitemouse
thanks for recommendation on /def/ xpathing. All mods were adjusted accordingly, which everyone should notice a 2-5% increase in load performance!
Mirith 1 Feb, 2020 @ 12:00pm
Hi, thank you for your work - I love unnecessarily complicating my game, and now I can do it all around ;)

Could you perhaps add patches for Giraffes, Fantasy Goblins and Black Widows 2.0 mods?
Dr Zhivago 29 Jan, 2020 @ 6:30pm
Can you link us to GitHub in description?
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 29 Jan, 2020 @ 5:55pm
I created a game with core, hugslib, mod manager, simple chains: leather and this patch, made a roofed room with a tanning vat in it, spawned hide and processed it, all the while hitting G to view room stats and could not recreate that error. I don't recall introducing any new logic into this patch and only mimicked the structure and style of how Owlchemist went about handling in Simple Chains: Leather. This window error is strange indeed!

Donkey leather wasn’t very different from the regular leather, so donkeys have been updated to drop regular hide instead of their own unique type.

I was unaware there was performance concerns with this patch. I added all code to Simple-Chains-Leather-Patch repository on github and would welcome ideas for tuning.
lilwhitemouse 29 Jan, 2020 @ 12:52pm
I poked around in the workshop directory, and while I couldn't figure out what was going on with the error, I CAN suggest some things that would make this mod load faster. Let me know if you'd like to chat?
lilwhitemouse 27 Jan, 2020 @ 2:32pm
(I would look at stuff if the code were available on github or anything?)
lilwhitemouse 27 Jan, 2020 @ 2:31pm
I finally looked at stuff, and I was surprised that you hadn't been wrapping things like donkeyhide into regular leather? I, for one, am happy enough having fewer leather types running around :) Altho I do think luxury soft furs might be a thing ;p
lilwhitemouse 27 Jan, 2020 @ 2:31pm
Anyway, I am getting this error when looking at room stats ('g' on my keyboard?) for any room that has a tanning vat in it.

Exception filling window for Verse.ImmediateWindow: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at Verse.EnvironmentStatsDrawer.GetRoomRoleLabel (Verse.Room room) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
at Verse.EnvironmentStatsDrawer.FillWindow (Rect windowRect) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
...etc

They go away when I turn off this mod, and I can again see stats.

Any idea what's going on?

slapMYmarsupial  [author] 24 Jan, 2020 @ 8:38pm
Martens is a go! Lookout for Sable fur, fancy stuff =D
lilwhitemouse 24 Jan, 2020 @ 6:08pm
Martens, Nature's Little Assassins? ^.^

Probably soft fur ("luxury fur")
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 24 Jan, 2020 @ 5:22pm
We're a go for Beast Man Tribes!
Térraos 22 Jan, 2020 @ 2:18pm
I'm getting a cross-reference error for the Beast Man Tribes mod, is there a way you could include that in this patch? :0c
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 15 Jan, 2020 @ 5:43pm
Updated for :
Vanilla Animals Expanded — Australia
Donkeys

@Thetaprime
I loaded a game with all 11 of Oskar Potocki's Vanilla Animal packs, with Owlchemist's Simple Chains: Leather, and my own Simple Chains: Leather Additional Patch, and could not recrate that pesky cross-reference error. If I stumble across the reason I'll be sure to try and fix it!
lilwhitemouse 14 Jan, 2020 @ 10:29pm
Donkeys, please.

It's so.l odd having magic donkey leather ;)
Thetaprime 10 Jan, 2020 @ 10:20am
Getting:

Could not resolve cross-reference to Verse.ThingDef named Leather_Wolf (wanter=thingDefs)

Just using all of the Vanilla Animals packs.
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 5 Jan, 2020 @ 7:37pm
Apologies on the delay! Jurassic Rim only had 5 leathers to add so it wasn't too challenging :D

I checked on Vanilla Fishing Expanded, and, sadly, no leathers to speak of.
Haraise no Tenshi 18 Dec, 2019 @ 11:28am
Any chance on also adding the Jurassic Rim dinosaurs?
AlexIlTabaccaio 30 Nov, 2019 @ 2:58pm
Hey man. Check the new Vanilla Fishing Expanded B-)
Mistletoe The Bard 5 Nov, 2019 @ 11:03pm
That's really awesome work... you must spent a lot of time on this!
slapMYmarsupial  [author] 5 Nov, 2019 @ 9:26pm
Tried to implement "New Mod Features" dialog after map has been loaded but we'll see if it works. We're up to 22 mods now! I took the time to write compatibilities for Dinosauria and [RF] Fishing [1.0], which were previously only available from rebelscums patches, so we have a one stop shop now ^.^
Mistletoe The Bard 2 Nov, 2019 @ 7:16pm
@slapMYmasupial Thanks for the awesome mod!

You should consider collaborating with rebelscum and combine mods
