Jerry is that you?

Tbh though i have 200+ mods but noticed it happened when i installed this one so i wrote it down to incompatibilities. If i get a chance i'll show you it was pretty funny everyone being smith but all had different coat of arms.

Do you have a screenshot? I want to see the Smith world.

I'm not really sure how the shattered world feature works in the background so I don't think that I could fix that.

I started a shattered world with flat technology in the year 1 start date, however the technology wasn't flat. It seemed to take the default values of tech for the 769 bookmark instead (for example, Military Organization and Legalism were level 4 in Constantinople).

Is there any way to fix this?

If the problem fixed itself then that's fine. If it shows up again then let me know. If I end up seeing it then I'll try to figure out what causes it.

So I tried running your mod (without any other mod active) and everything was fine...Then I tested your mod combined with the other mods I used by enabling them one buy one and...Everything's fine. So idk what happened. Sorry.

To clarify what my issue was, it showed all tech having 0 bar + no gain.

If you're a count or nomad then you can't research anything. I was playing earlier with a fully tribal shattered world at year 1 and technology all started at around 1 bar per technology. Research was able to start once I became a Duke. If you're talking about the technology levels of other countries without shattering the world, I'm unsure how to fix that if there's truly a problem.

I'll see if I can replicate the problem.

I don't know if the problem comes from my end but if I start a game prior to the earliest vanilla start game or past the latest vanilla start date all technology will be set to 0 and will not make progress, which thus makes the game basically boring...

It would be interesting to have a mod that lets you play in BC I know that any date before 1/1/1 is a negative number like 1/5/-5 but don't you think it would be cool if you could play in 164 BC

@WaKKO151
you can instead try and see if the game works past 9999. If not, make it end a century before just to be safe, then edit the savegame (might wanna program that) to wipe out all family trees and reset the game date to 0001. You'll also want to wipe any pending events in the savefile. I wouldn't say it's worth the effort, but your time is yours, good luck ^_^

ok thanks for responding. really enjoying this mod. streaming a full tribal full random game start.

"Does this still work?"

There shouldn't have been any updates since I created this version of the mod so there's no reason why it wouldn't work. I can check it out later to confirm that it works.

"Would it be possible to create a mod...(continued)"

I don't think that kind of system would be possible to create but you can always ask someone that's decent at modding. This is an extremely basic mod and I don't have enough expertise to be creating one that's much more complicated than it.
WaKKO151 15 Jan, 2020 @ 11:33am
does this still work. And would it be possible to create a mod that started at 1.1.0001 and when it reaches 9999 it kills every one that is 19 years old or older and resets the date to 1.1.0001?
Vaeringjar 14 Dec, 2019 @ 5:52pm
alright, thanks for the info
Junoh  [author] 14 Dec, 2019 @ 11:08am
I think that it's based on the starting year in the defines.txt. It even happens in shattered worlds so you should use the original version if you're not going to start in the earlier years.

The mercenaries have tens of thousands of people and cost hundreds of gold per month if you start in the 1300s. This makes them almost impossible to use unless you've got a lot of gold or high income.
Vaeringjar 14 Dec, 2019 @ 10:35am
why and how does it break mercenaries? and does it affect randomised worlds?

Works good, thx Junoh

The earliest I could find a civilization is 100.1.1. It's a country to the East. I believe that you need to have one of the expansions to play as them since they're a Hindu nation. Feel free to comment here about other early civilizations you can play as.
