The mod's updated to 1.6. There's also some changes to how the mod stuns mechanoids, so mods like Combat Extended don't cause the mod to obliterate a mechanoid.

I don't think there's any changes in 1.6 that would've broken the mod, but I'll work on releasing 1.6 later today.

As for the long standing quirk of friendly mechanoids dying, it's a known interaction between mods, like Combat Extended, that add physical damage when they're EMP'd, which the mod simulates to stun the mechanoid. At the moment, there's no plans to address that interaction.

Also I didnt see this destroying friendly mechs in 1.5 just a week ago. They remained stunned during the solar flare.

if I add this mod during a solar flare and call down a mechanoid ship for the quest would the attacking mechanoids be stunned upon landing?

I've had numerous solar flares.

Most mechs survived the stuns.

Had them all bunched up charging just now.

One mech was super explosive. That one died

3 other mechs died from the explosion.

Great mod...10/10...I hate it though

Heads up; this mod does not cover EMI fields (which can be caused by mech clusters, so this is probably intentional, but still _very frustrating.)_

I downloaded Kosh's fix and put it in my mod folder to replace the other one. I then tested it in dev mode. No difference with CE. I have not tested it yet with a real playthrough but so far the results havent been encouraging

This mod makes it harder for you than it does for enemy mechs if you're a mechanitor, since they will very rarely raid you while a solar flare is going. Though I'm okay with that since it adds an additional challenge to the game.

I made a fix for this. You can get it here( https://github.com/NightKosh/Mechanoid-Solar-Flare/releases/tag/CE_fix ) or wait while @randoo apply the fix to the original mod.

Yeah, Combat Extended and this mod have an interaction which causes Mechanoids heads to explode (literallly of my mechs heads exploded the first time this happened). Most likely because CE adds a damage function to EMP events.

@randoo he talked about "Combat Extended". I guess, you stun mech in the same way as EMP weapon do. But "Combat Extended" additionally add mech damage for EMP weapon, so, I guess, this is the reason of this problem.

I can look into it again, but the part of RimWorld this mod uses doesn't seem to have changed. It should just be a stun, unless something changed in biotech or you have a mod that changes that, like combat extended.

This is great... but if there were a way to insulate the mechanoids in the ancient evil on your map so that that is a challenge, that would be perfect. Otherwise you just have to wait a year or so and then GO IN

Nice, it even works on modded mechanoids! I noticed that the auto turrets from the mech clusters dont get stunned however. But its fine, it keeps things challenging.

@Nuclear Newspaper, it's been mentioned before, but it sounds more like a quirk of CE. All this mod does is simulate an EMP stun on mechanoids during a solar flare.

Just a headsup from another workshop author, you can link other mods as requirements. This will warn the user to first sub to that mod before subbing to this mod.

perfect mod except if you use it with misc robots++ because it instantly kills all your hauler cooker bots etc and then you have to repair them (costs more then you get from them)

Might be interesting to give the mechs a stuttered stun during flares. Like they only work for 2 seconds every 30 or something. Just a thought.

@Khabraxis The new additions that came with mech clusters are not supported. They have their own way of calculating whether or not they can operate. Maybe down the road I'll revisit those structures.

@TheToric This mod checks for whether or not the solar flare event is active. If it is, it'll stun any mechanoids on the map. Since the check is fairly basic, they should get stunned while in a shield unless the modder decided otherwise.
