I tested the MOD on my dedicated server. Unfortunately the Server crashed after the 1st (and only) Dino died. The Spiderboss and all Minispiders stuck and nothing happens anymore. After a Minute in the Boss cave I lost connection and rhe server was dead.

Sad, I love the Idea of this Mod.

the amount of logic that went into this mod just to detect that you're in a boss fight... its like 90% of the mod lol.
but it was very brittle if they changed things then it'd break.
and bosses released after this was last updated would not likely to be detected. especially since they dont have the usual arena style fights.

from my experience the first few items work, well they give the buff but I've never let a dino die to actually know 100%, I'm starting my "Go through each map, all bosses 100% notes" runs and will conduct some test to see if the buffs are actually working, keep your eyes peeled here for my results in the near future if you are curious and don't feel like testing it yourself

Other than looking out for the interests of players, I'm mostly in it for those juicy stones (If I ever get the chance to play again). The fact they can buff user and those around him will come in handy!

I have it in the server but had not had a chance to properly check it out yet due to life. I'll have to check in with the players or check it myself personally on the weekends.

I'm using it as well I just had to reduce my servers down to one because I moved to Vegas and had to get settled and had to take care of my mother. Trying to wait patiently for her medicaid to be approved which already is pre-approved but definetly want to start working on taking care of my mother but it has been a slow process. Once I start earning Income I can bring up my servers again. for now I'm mostly messing around with trying out different mods for fun.

thank you i love the mod i love ark but hate working weeks on a dino to have him die trying to see if im strong enough for the boss fight this let me try and we killed gamma and beta monkey and died on alpha brood so good that we keep them all and add a few to our group thank you for this.i have a life and ark tries hard to take it lol

As long as dinos die before you die that will work.
If all players die, arenas purge all within. This mods main advantage is handling for that.
The arenas supported are in desc. Other support will eventually be added.

the mod does dynamic costs based on the map. i think thats why i never posted craft overrides.
i believe i did put a check though so it doesn't override them if you have them.
here are the item names if you want to try that.

I'm not finding it in the listing any chance you have the overrides for crafting requirements somewhere so I can change them like your other recovery mod? I don't want to cook or go get more copies of those artifacts to summon a boss

Also something to consider- why not just run the maps with the same mods so all the same items are available? then it would not crash when trying to load the items.
Or is it possible you removed a mod since that data was saved? If so, re-add whatever mod/s that was and then it should load ok.

The mod's save files are located in your Ark directory:

\ShooterGame\Saved\SaveGames\BWR\

There are separate files for the type of data saved.
Normally in a dedi svr environment each map would be running under its own Ark directory, or using the launch argument to use an alternative save directory. Not sure if that would work for SP or how much help it would be..

Is there a way to remove one of the profiles? If it is saved in one of the mod directories, I may be able to manually remove the profiles I want gone.

On other maps that I died on, they still show up on in the "Player Recovery" option. I attempt to recover my items on Aberration, but it pulls from every map, and I end up crashing due to it trying to load items from other maps. Any suggestions? All the maps previously, as well as the current one, were in singleplayer.

hehe so was that yes its coming or just yes it could be done, but not planned?

One other question/request is there a way to set it so that this could be used more generally than just with bosses? I like the mechanics of the buff being needed to recover dinos that die during the boss fight, but wouldnt mind having a way for just general use beyond that, especially for things like the Orbital drops or Elemental Veins. Using Dino Storage V2 as well, which has a death auto trap, but not sure if enabled how that will interact with this Boss Wipe Recovery during boss fights

Could probably do that on a map by map basis. Would need to target the map's specific Boss Arena Managers / Teleporters, remove them, and replace with my own custom versions that would run similar but tweaked logic on teleport etc. Its hardcoded in the BAMs to block dinos based on drag weight from teleportation as well as how man can teleport.
Its not some kind of actual limitation other than the arbitrary limits set in those invisible map actors.

Food for thought, would you ever consider using this mod to loosen boss arena restrictions, like number of dinos and types of dinos? The recovery is excellent, but I'm always sad I can't bring gigas or flyers to certain fights. No pressure of course, just loosening the strict vanilla boss restrictions seems in line with this mod.

yes, need an update to the kit so i can determine what the arena config needs to be set to.

also planning on making some changes to the mod soon, things like...
- make the arena added buffs off by default, so they're opted in via INI only
- make the AoE recovery buffs not apply buffs to everything until they are "arena active", so everything at base during boss prep does not end up with the buff
- add handling for other persistent buffs on dinos recovered, reapplying them on release from recovery pods

I've still got to try this on test server where I can lose stuff and not care but I did just try it again on alpha brood and alpha gorilla on island using greater stone. None of my dinos died though, killed both bosses.

I think I am going to change the way the AoE buff works though when I can get back to this. I dont like that the buff is applying on everything in my base before I go to arena.

Yes that is my best bet at what happens. The clients doesn't crash, they simply hang until they timeout, we also don't get a messages saying a dino has died, as it crashes the server the messages is never send to the clients.

So this is just a guess. The reasoning is:
Originally when we used it, before you patched it, on Broodmother, the crash would happen around the time where we lost dinos without a stone, and it coincided with her aoe poison attack, which does heavy damage.

on Alpha Megapithecus the crash came late in the fight, we had a dino on low health, and he was attacking in that dinos general direction. On our follow up attempt without a stone, that same dino died, but we didn't crash.

Unfortunately the host I'm using for the server isn't producing any useful log files for the crash, it simply goes down.

We are using a greater stone, I've disabled the aura/buff of it.

So you're saying during the fight a dino dies and it crashes the server?
Does your Ark client process crash too, or just hang for a while until it realizes server no longer there?
And do you not get any error message/s?

Maybe this belongs more in a discussion than as a comment by now... Anyhow thanks for the quick response and fix. Unfortunately it still seems to crash on dino death, at least our attempt at the alpha Megapithecus crashed hard with the stone active. Without it there was no problem. I am unable to find any meaningful log from the server. if it works for you it could however simply be other mods on the server interfering.

I really like the design and idea behind the mod though. The crafting table for it is bloody gorgeous!

Yeah I think could do those things. Might be very map specific though depending on the approach required. The existing boss arena teleporters/managers only have certain things exposed as 'variables'. Ideally it would just be scanning for them and editing some of their values.
But might require replacing teleporters/managers with custom versions instead.

I may have a few ideas for INI settings. Is it possible to make settings that allow you to change the time limits, the limit to the number of creatures and, the limit to the kind of creatures you take into the Boss Arenas and the Tek Cave.

also while waiting for kit cook to be fixed, i am making some changes to the arena active buff defaults. they're way too much by default lol...
lowering all of their default values across the board. i'll update it on the config discussion when i post the fixed version.
