Fox, you do realize that English is based on German, right?
Michael Bone 16 Nov, 2013 @ 1:12pm
@gameboyadvance_333 as much as I hate that rule, it's (as in "it is") true. the english language and its (as in possessive) many exeptions grammatically are annoying, but I guess that compensates for the romance languages giving genders to their words that don't make any sense for the sake of sounding pretty. (although the germans are just a lost cause linguistically)
Bissy Boo 16 Nov, 2013 @ 1:05am
Kindness :D

I'm sorry, but most of the English writing community disagrees with you.

https://www.google.com/search?q=its+vs+it%27s

Basically, would you say "his" or "hi's"? "Hers" or "her's"? "Ours" or "our's"? "Its" contains the same possessive quality as those and "it's" contains the same "[pronoun] is" / "[pronoun]'s" contraction as "he's" and "she's".

The only exception to the "no apostrophes for pronouns" rule is "one's" (as in "One should keep one's peace"). And names always have them, which is probably what creates the confusion for most people in the first place. "Scockeram's correct, but it's easy to be confused by its similarities to other possessive nouns."

("We're" also gets a pass from "[pronoun] is" / "[pronoun]'s" rule and doesn't become "we's" because of the plurality of "we", though some accents force exceptions to that rule too!)

funny.
Joker 14 Nov, 2013 @ 9:21am
Haha Great!
IAMZOD 13 Nov, 2013 @ 6:51pm
Haha brilliant. Great job bringing it to life!
Denethor, Steward of Gondor 13 Nov, 2013 @ 4:17pm
This axe two-handed? It would be funny/challenging to dual wield, and kill with one axe while healing with another.
Echo Stormwind 13 Nov, 2013 @ 2:46pm
@scockeram
The ' (apostrophe) can be used to show ownership, not just for compounding words.
I don't want to sound like a grammar nazi, but forgetting that is just unforgivable.
Lakobus 13 Nov, 2013 @ 12:12am
Jesus Christ that's a funny weapon. lol
Eternie 12 Nov, 2013 @ 11:52pm
My only suggestion for the Axe would be a bigger enchantment so that it took say 50+ hits before needing to recharge with a grand soul gem.

Whereas presently it only gives 13 hits per grand soul gem, before needing to be recharged.

It's great the way it is!
If someone annoys you; you can turn them into bloody mess with no one retaliating, at worst they say" oh don't do that"
Savior 12 Nov, 2013 @ 8:08pm
i use it to heal my horse :)
Juice 12 Nov, 2013 @ 2:01pm
Great idea!!
THe hellp 12 Nov, 2013 @ 12:37pm
Sheer genius, I need one of these things, the sooner the better.
scockeram 12 Nov, 2013 @ 8:54am
Very good, but not to be grammer nazi but "it's" means "it is" and "a good deed is it is own reward" and that doesn't make sense. You do not use an apostrophe when a subject belongs to "it" you just say "its" beacuse "it's" is "it is". Not to be critical, i think it's an awesome idea.
Repeatable 11 Nov, 2013 @ 9:55pm
The world needs more mods like this... :-)
lukatakushimo 11 Nov, 2013 @ 2:06pm
i did not sub to this but I give you rate up just cuz the name alone. any possibility of killing them with kindness?
Rocket_Surgeon 10 Nov, 2013 @ 11:32am
love the name! subscribed! you got me at axe.
Fromageinstein  [author] 10 Nov, 2013 @ 10:04am
To answer a few people's question: Hitting people with the axe of kindness will not result in them attacking you. If enough people want this changed, then I will do so.
kevshears 10 Nov, 2013 @ 5:05am
There was also an axe of kindess in the webcomic Cyanide and Happiness, which predates both this and the tweet.
yuela 10 Nov, 2013 @ 1:16am
I didn't know how much I needed this weapon until you created it. Well done!
prince_of_arfon 10 Nov, 2013 @ 12:25am
Haven't tried it yet, but I love the concept and the pun. And that ale is required to craft it. Brilliant.
Cteklite 9 Nov, 2013 @ 6:46pm
I was uninterested until I saw the "punny" joke you named it.
Urb4n_N0rd 9 Nov, 2013 @ 1:44pm
Perfect! Everytime I'm in combat with allies i end up hitting/killing them, now that wont matter!
Lol, interesting. As said, I immidiately thought of the dagger of friendship from ESIV Shivering Isles
Nefnoj 9 Nov, 2013 @ 9:09am
I realize that the blade of the glass axe looks a bit like a heart.
Eternie 9 Nov, 2013 @ 7:16am
Well that worked well Attacking guards no reaction can really let your steam out. Regardless whether it's charged up or not. Only downside is as it's no damage it also doesn't count towards skill improvement; and at 13 charges (hits) for 1 grand soul gem...
But yep thumbs up for Title!
Eternie 9 Nov, 2013 @ 6:19am
Sounds like the Dagger of Friendship we collected in the Shiverings Isles (Oblivion) which was perfect for training one handed skills as it calmed and healed your opponent! Until you donated it to the museum of oddities, of course. Could it also cast Pacify?
Sounds like fun.

@Best Blackmith in Whiterun:

A good place with moonstone is Alftand (Blackreach Dwemer ruin), or you could check out Darkfall Cave if you've discovered it (Dawnguard DLC).

lucidity 9 Nov, 2013 @ 2:46am
Title was enough to get my sub.
Augoatstina 8 Nov, 2013 @ 6:13pm
how do I get moonstone? can anyone tell me where some of the ore veins are?
DaOtterGal 7 Nov, 2013 @ 3:56pm
Is hitting someone with the axe considered assault?
Jiggyfly 7 Nov, 2013 @ 1:50pm
thumbs up just for the title.
The big juan 6 Nov, 2013 @ 2:53pm
read the description? It heals people hit by it. But if you try and use it in a town or something will it still be considered assault and give you the bounty?
KINGDEATHMORE 6 Nov, 2013 @ 1:03pm
what does the axe do?
