But how to get those ungratful SoBs to actually be thankful and vote for me at the end of first term is so far beyond me....
[im getting only 2-12% with pretty much all crisis ended, and social/economy on the run to become a paradise in few turns..]
GDP +34%, Poor Income +60%, Health +20%, Education +13%, Crime -43%
Got 12% of the vote...
Yup, sounds like Greece. Doesn't sound like a fun or plausible mod though.
And the only option i changed was "Compulsory Elections" to "On" - but i dont think it matters, because, as i said, 99% of the population is in my pocket. There is no-one to vote against me.
10/10 would fix world problems again.
*One Term Later*
Challenge. Lost.
This might need to be fixed... Just maybe?
I don't know what determines cheating in this game, but the key to curing the economy is to impose a maximum carbon tax as early as possible.
My strategy was to diversify tax income so I could lower income tax. You can set various taxes very low (or to 0) and get some decent income without many penalties. This is especially true with the flat tax (which may be a bug). You should be able to keep the larger groups of liberals, religious and socialist all pretty happy heading into the first election. This was fun because it involved a lot of religious policies I usually never use.
I'm not sure that having that much "Greek tax evaision" is really needed. Would it be possible to make the game start with this situation active without adding in this factor?
Rabid - No, I've not touched anything like that. People are just very angry because their economy is screwed and none of them have jobs.
Generally what I'll say is that it takes a really careful balancing act of getting the debt under control as quickly as possible without making people too angry, then fixing the economy and doing that fast enough that you can then afford to put in policies and things that people like so that you win the election. You will spend a lot of your first term incredibly unpopular because you're fixing things, but once you have you should be able to win popularity quickly.
I downloaded this just because that comment
