Yes of course I'd also like to say I am using genesis along with these mods without any issues, Thank you.

@Calgoomballou thanks for sharing that mod. I added it to my favorites.

A good mod+ to this is https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1365830610 new game that offers a huge army right by this specific town with immersive text dialogue.

Hi everyone, I just tested this mod with Project Genesis and did not come across any town overlaps between the Redemption Camps and PG's towns so they should work together.
Faylein  [author] 14 Mar, 2020 @ 5:35pm
@Thundercraft My guess would be that project genesis would conflict with this mod since they add a lot of new content. Perhaps someday I'll work with this mod and Project Genesis to make them compatible but that is a big project and I started a new job recently. When I played Reactive World with this mod, I didn't have any issues. As for other mods, if they didn't add a new town in the same area as the redemption camps then there may not be issues. You could create some game starts with the mod you want to try this mod with and see if there are issues.
Thundercraft 3 Mar, 2020 @ 5:59pm
I just want to ask: Any known incompatibilities with other mods?

Project Genesis, perhaps, because it changes so much about the game?

Also, since this adds '5 redemption camps': Are any of the locations of these camps popular spots - locations that other mods tend to use for adding stuff?

Hi everyone, I just uploaded a new update. I fixed a dialogue issue and added a little more content. The Way will now send reinforcements to defend a base if a player becomes allies with them. This update also allows The Way to assault the player's base if the player becomes enemies with them. If something is not working, please let me know and I'll look into it.
Faylein  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 12:35pm
@D9sinc, I figured out the bug. Apparently, I missed adding a crucial element to the dialogue when the guard talks to a larger squad. Fixing now.
D9sinc 20 Jan, 2020 @ 11:46am
@Faylein I have always tried following the above. I've talked my way out of fights with some bandits using that system, but on occasion I get a guard that comes to talk to me and doesn't have the Yellow Speech Bubble above him. Then of course he gets mad at me "for ignoring them" and they charge after me. In my latest one, I did manage to get out of the camp a mere 2 days after I was thrown in due to them putting me in a cell right next to a guard and knowing the answers by memory. Now I'm building an empire to take out the hives and other factions.
Faylein  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 6:25am
@D9sinc when they approach you there should be a yellow bubble. It is like when starving bandits or similar approach you making an announcement. Typically, in vanilla if you ignore an npc with a yellow bubble they'll attack you. Same thing here. You have a few seconds, should be like 20s or 30s, to talk to the guard before they'll attack you. I think I set it to 3 sentences they'll say before attack. If you talk to them before they say their last sentence, that should open up another dialogue set that'll let you talk your way out of the situation unless you are starving. The Way guards will notice your squad if they are weaker than the guards and you don't have a certain relations with The Way. Also the gate guards will have a yellow announcement bubble, too. If following the above doesn't work, please let me know.
D9sinc 17 Jan, 2020 @ 9:41am
@Faylein, Yeah, I did that with a Southern Hive member and they let me go. I was even able to loot everything, but I was worried they would try to attack me again as I left. OH, btw, occasionally, I'll have a guard from the redemption camps approach me wanting to talk when I'm passing by, but it doesn't initiate dialogue when he comes up to me nor do I get the option to talk to them so they just end up getting mad and attacking me. What could I do to fix that or is it intended?
Faylein  [author] 17 Jan, 2020 @ 7:48am
kk, I know it seems a bit long to achieve redemption but I wanted the player to really feel like they had to work for it. In between conversations, one can work on the character's skills such as farming. You could farm up for yourself a nice batch of crops to start a base with or have some bread. Looting the fields, wells, grain silos, and bread oven doesn't count as a crime.
D9sinc 16 Jan, 2020 @ 9:47pm
@Faylein I was at a camp. I didn't know that I was increasing it by 2 every time I got it right. I felt mad since I had answered a few times, but didn't check the relationship status. I might try it again and see if I was wrong.
Faylein  [author] 16 Jan, 2020 @ 12:22pm
@D9sinc, were you unable to talk to the guards while being enslaved? They should have had a white talk bubble. If you answer with the correct principle of the way, your relations should go up just a little bit. I think I set it to 2. Their dialogue does have a timer. If you get your relations to 30, then you should be able to talk to a guard and get a different set of dialogue that should remove your slave status if you answer this final question correctly. Tip: You may need to refer to The Way's book to know what the principles are and their order.

Another thing that could be causing the issue, were you at one of their redemption camps or were you with a patrol?
D9sinc 16 Jan, 2020 @ 11:28am
@Faylein now if only there was a way to raise your relation with them while enslaved because I kept answering them correctly but they just ignored me so I just snuck off and ran out of there
Faylein  [author] 16 Jan, 2020 @ 6:39am
@Cat in the Hat, I'll look at the numbers of The Way and see about reducing the squad size of their wandering squads. I did set the squad numbers though to increase with that squad size option bar in the game's menu. The Way wandering squads are not meant to be taken down with weak player characters. In fact, The Way are opportunists like the wandering Slaver caravans and if they see a weak character in your squad, they will talk to you. You might be able to talk your way out of the situation, otherwise they will attempt to capture and enslave your squad. It is best not to start fights with these guys until your characters are decently armored and have mid to high level stats. I created them to be somewhat strong so that they can control captured bandits.
Faylein  [author] 16 Jan, 2020 @ 6:20am
If you escape out of a cage in order to talk to a guard, you can still talk to the guard and if you answer their question correctly and have high enough relations, then the guard removes your slave status. However the guard still thinks you are breaking the law since you escaped so your character will have to run. It is best to talk to a guard to remove your character's slave status while working in the field. However, I know that the overseers don't go to all the cages to work their slaves so escaping from a cage is sometime inevitable. The removing slave status is not as smooth as I would have liked it to be but it is the best I could do with my current knowledge of the FSC and dialogue options. If anyone is an expert on the various dialogue options and knows how to get one like Conscription to work, please let me know :)
WuTidi 11 Jan, 2020 @ 10:44am
Nice Idea!
D9sinc 8 Jan, 2020 @ 7:23pm
Do they actually release you or do you have to escape?
Triela 8 Jan, 2020 @ 2:30pm
Good mod, although it may be a bit overkill when I have a street fight involving the Shinobi Thieves and The Way in The Hub. I had a gang of like 8 people and I couldn't beat them because one of their damn Skeletons.
Faylein  [author] 6 Jan, 2020 @ 10:04am
@Sonder Sun lol good comment. I had originally didn't want the slaves of The Way to starve but could not find any options in the FSC to change that slave state. I did set those squads to not be hungry initially but due to game mechanic they become starved slaves eventually.
Sundering Sober Sonder Sun 5 Jan, 2020 @ 8:01pm
Finally! A faction that will save the starving bandits from themselves.

From starving bandits to starving farmers.
Faylein  [author] 2 Jan, 2020 @ 12:07pm
ty :) I like playing with them, too and also had an interesting fight in The Hub the other day. I had created a mod that adds mercenary guild gate guards and a well to The Hub (not released to the workshop yet). The mercenary guild prevailed but with heavy losses. I have also noticed if regular slave traders wander into a redemption camp, a fight sometimes breaks out between The Way and the slave traders with the slave traders losing and becoming new Way slaves. I did set The Way faction to coexist with The Slave Traders and the Mercenary Guild so I'm not exactly sure why they have random fights sometimes. It seems to happen when either The Way or The Slave Traders try to enslave within city walls and the gate guards consider it a crime.

So far i love em ran into a fight with a bunch of em in the hub, good work
Faylein  [author] 1 Jan, 2020 @ 6:23am
@KADGE I don't think they do ask for tribute. That might be something I add later.
Kage 31 Dec, 2019 @ 1:52pm
Also I almost scroll past this since the thumbnail didnt catch my eye, you could go for something with the faction name or something anyway ill try it looks intresting
Kage 31 Dec, 2019 @ 1:49pm
I love the idea and do they come ask for tribute if you build near them ?
