Thanks much. However, RimWorld actually support multi-version mod, so maybe you do not need to make another mod package and workshop page. This page may be helpful: https://gist.github.com/pardeike/08ff826bf40ee60452f02d85e59f32ff

will this mod be updated to 1.1?
Cotton Joe  [author] 10 Feb, 2020 @ 12:38am
I seriously regret my mistake, I accidentally hit the update button instead of reuploading the mod.
Cotton Joe  [author] 9 Feb, 2020 @ 11:46pm
Unfortunately fixing that issue, would cause a game breaking bug for anyone using the mod. I can recreate the mod with a fix, so anyone wanting the updated version can switch to it for a new game. or COMPLETELY remove everything from this mod from their game, and load the new mod instead.

Whenever I load up the game the debug log opens and has 9 error messages of
Config error in SculptureSmall2: ends with a numerical digit, which is not allowed on ThingDefs.
Verse.Log:Error(String, Boolean)
Verse.DefDatabase`1:ErrorCheckAllDefs()
System.Reflection.MonoMethod:InternalInvoke(Object, Object[], Exception&)
System.Reflection.MonoMethod:Invoke(Object, BindingFlags, Binder, Object[], CultureInfo)
System.Reflection.MethodBase:Invoke(Object, Object[])
Verse.GenGeneric:InvokeStaticMethodOnGenericType(Type, Type, String)
Verse.PlayDataLoader:DoPlayLoad()
Verse.PlayDataLoader:LoadAllPlayData(Boolean)
Verse.Root:<Start>m__1()
Verse.LongEventHandler:RunEventFromAnotherThread(Action)
Verse.LongEventHandler:<UpdateCurrentAsynchronousEvent>m__1()
It doesn't affect gameplay but it's pretty annoying and I thought I'd report it.

This mod does nothing that could possibly cause that. Sounds kinda cool tho.

Another issue, although not annoying, is that the model of the sculpture changes from time to time, shapeshifting sculptures! :-D Maybe is mod related...
juvilado 23 Jan, 2020 @ 12:33am
oh yes! i didn´t notice, it works! i was looking into the ingredients, not the recipes themselves, thanks!
Cotton Joe  [author] 22 Jan, 2020 @ 6:47pm
@juviado, the mod adds new recipes at the sculpting table, that have (chunk) in the name. You have to use those recipes instead of the default ones. This will also put (chunk) in the name of the new sculptures. This allows for easy cancellation of bills and removal of sculptures if a person decides to remove the mod.

Maybe im mising something but it doesnt work for me... niether at an existing save nor at a new game
pgames-food 11 Jan, 2020 @ 8:47pm
ah ok cool ,i forgot its 20 blocks per chunk :)
MurlocPally 11 Jan, 2020 @ 9:52am
Alright, thanks!
Cotton Joe  [author] 10 Jan, 2020 @ 4:05am
yes it can be added. but like all other mods that add content, you will have to add the new sculptures to stockpiles, and if you remove the mod, make sure to get rid of any of the new sculptures first.
MurlocPally 9 Jan, 2020 @ 5:57pm
Can this be added to existing saves?
Cotton Joe  [author] 9 Jan, 2020 @ 3:56pm
As is, crafting with chunks saves a lot of total resources, since 1 chunk can only be made into 20 blocks. and sculpture costs are 50/100/220. It should be noted tho that a sculptures value it determined by its resource cost. So if you craft sculptures for use in your base, its more "Profitable" to use chunks, but if you want to craft them to sell, you are using more crafting time on less valuable pieces. I have not done any math to look at, value of total crafting time with blocks and with out, and total value of mats, transport weights or any of that. the actual value calculation would be very complicated. I feel like the costs are fine as is, but if some one wanted to put in the time to get a calculation of value and balance, I can update the mod to reflect it.
pgames-food 8 Jan, 2020 @ 6:51pm
or possibly only medium or larger ones are from chunks?
pgames-food 8 Jan, 2020 @ 6:47pm
btw, this mod concept of making a sculpture out of 1 big rock, makes a lot of sense (especially as that is how sculpting has been portrayed wherever ive seen it :)

having this mod is cool, however... there are probably pros and cons to both methods in reality (as i think about it some more), such as:

having 1 large block, ends up "chipping" away a lot of un-used stone, just to end up with a skinny face or vase or something
and making smaller sculptures/objects probably waste less resources because not as much needs to be chipped away - but, then making a large one from lots of small blocks, is probably more time consuming since all those smaller pieces need to be fitted together.

either way its nice to have this mod, and maybe there is room for allowing larger sculptures to be made with same time, but smaller sculptures to take longer when using blocks (just so that there is a reason to use both Chunks and Blocks)? :)

hehe i have been using a helicopter to transport as many chunks as i can find, back to base :)

i still have to work out the cost of getting chunks, (and making sellable stuff) vs the chemfuel costs to make several trips, but it "feels" like i will make a profit lol :lunar2019piginablanket:

btw, this mod concept of making a sculpture out of 1 big rock, makes perfect sense (especially as that is how sculpting has been portrayed wherever ive seen it :)

Ya it sounds like a mod that just consider the realistic side of design but not focusing on the balance. I think I never ran out of chunks unless I am playing on anything lower than the small hills. This mod prob only sounds realistic and nice when you are playing on sea ice imo. It makes sense when pawn wanna be more precious of the few meteors dropped from the sky to make sculpture when they are on sea ice. In practical stance, we will more likely to build more rooms with those meteors if we play on sea ice though.

It is cheaper and easier than making the vanilla recipes. The work to make the sculpture is the same, but you don't have to spend the time to make blocks first. And the larger statues take less chunks per statue than if you made blocks first. The reason for this is, the way I see it, it would be easier to sculpt statues out of large rocks than lots of bricks. You can cut the chunk as needed and avoid a lot of waste that would come from losing material when cutting blocks and lose material again when shaping the blocks. This way of crafting is strong early game, but when your map runs of of chunks they are harder to come by than more blocks, that you can get fairly easily from bulk traders. To be honest tho, this mod dosen't stress balance, and is more of just something that makes sense to me.
Luizi 7 Jan, 2020 @ 8:51am
Shouldn't it be a bit less cost efficient? Or was your goal to replace vanilla recipes?
Mistletoe The Bard 7 Jan, 2020 @ 8:15am
I think the receipts are more material and work efficient than making chunks into blocks then into sculptures, right?
