Incredibly clever puzzle for just two surfaces. Thank you so much for this puzzle. 9/10.

@mentallentil
Haha that might have made the key move harder to find, I don't think that's the kind of move Teo would use in a map!
mentallentil 23 Jan @ 3:43pm
i misread "leo" and thought this was a teo map

@SpielSatzFail
Ha, I see what you did there with your first sentence ;)
Creative moves such as the one that's at the core of this puzzle often have some downsides, but in my opinion they are still worth implementing, provided they are consistent and not too questionable, of course. As regards the final fling, to be honest I think I could have made it a bit easier but didn't because I wanted to stick to my design idea for the portal surfaces. Very stupid, in retrospect. Glad it "didn't affect your opinion of the map" :P
SpielSatzFail 30 Aug, 2023 @ 4:25am
That was a nice ride :-)
Sometime it dawned on me that a cube swap was needed, and I totally agree to comments such as Leo's "standing on that thin of a surface is a bit of a questionable move to me but as it was clearly the only option it didn't effect my opinion of the map" . Btw not because it might be fiddly but because I usually dislike such shenanigans. In this case it adds to the style :D
Imo the strafe in the end (towards the exit) is feasible but you still need to focus.
Nevermind, thumbs up and a fav :steamthumbsup:

@Mattchew
@cnh2r
Thank you both! Indeed, the core move isn't the cleanest one, but I thought it was funny enough :P
cnh2r 22 Apr, 2023 @ 5:07pm
Another great one. Solved this one in only a couple hours. :)
Mattchew 12 Mar, 2023 @ 10:45pm
I thought this was neat, I really liked most of the steps and my fav parts were easily the cube swap and the timer for the spawns, very clever . I do have a few gripes. Mainly I think the map is a bit big and made traversing sluggish at points. I also found the move of landing on the track platform a bit iffy but i'm ready to excuse it as just me being not very good at strafing Pretty good overall!

@DiDo Killer!
Watched it, thanks again! Very well done solving it rather quickly. For the record, the cross-shaped decorations aren't supposed to convey any religious meaning. I'm an agnostic person myself.

@DiDo Killer!
Oh, interesting! I'll watch the VOD soon, thanks a lot for checking this map out, and for recording your ru :)

Excellent map. My playthrough [www.twitch.tv] during stream

@Gabriel Bacon
Thanks a lot for playing, for the nice words and for the video! The puzzle is not too complex but some steps can definitely be tricky to spot, so well done, you made quite steady progress throughout. As for the music that doesn't loop very well, that's a common issue in maps with a funnel, for some reason...
Gabriel Bacon 11 Mar, 2021 @ 3:21pm
Dang. I might have to disagree and say this is a pretty great puzzle. It certainly threw me for a loop at each step. There were a few unusual moves sprinkled in, but it all flowed very well. You really got me on the last step. I was laying in bed when I realized what I had missed, all went pretty smoothly in the 2nd session. I think as far as the mapping contest goes, you definitely succeeded with this one. The music was dark but good, although it didn't loop very well, kind of abrupt endings. Thanks for mapping!

Here's my (long) blind playthrough

@portal addict
Oh I see, I had forgotten the exact setup. Indeed that breaks most of the map. Thanks for letting me know!

Do you mean you can jump from the stairs, through the fizzler, onto the lift? Even if it's possible, I fail to see how that would be helpful though...
@Aneonen
Thank you very much for playing and leaving a comment!
Aneonen 14 Nov, 2020 @ 8:21pm
Nice puzzle! I enjoyed all the delayed connections/movements.
portal addict 20 Jun, 2020 @ 12:21pm
It is possible to jump on the lift's joint from the stairs

@BehindPortal
Yeah that trick is a bit peculiar! Glad you liked it :)
BehindPortal 26 Feb, 2020 @ 1:35am
evil thought. idea was in mind but i kept aside, later found thats the only possible move to get high jump. :p2blue:fav:p2cube::p2orange:

@Dark Rozen
Well if you don't see it, it can take a while ;)
Dark Rozen 28 Jan, 2020 @ 10:27am
Don't know why, but this took well too long. Well, it was certainly a good map, so I guess it was worth it.

Thanks, I'm happy you enjoyed this one :D

Excellent puzzle, Leo! I found it quite elegant and clever. :)

@可砸
Perfectly intended! Thanks for the video, and I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
@quatrus
Hopefully the timed move didn't frustrate you - there should be more than enough time to make it. As for the strafing, it's not strictly necessary if you do it like 可砸 in their video. Still, thanks for playing!
quatrus 19 Jan, 2020 @ 10:42am
hmm - took a while but there was only one place that had the altitude needed to get to the exit. Just needed to make the timed move to get on it and strafe. Thanks for creating.
可砸 19 Jan, 2020 @ 7:47am
Very advanced lift and creative ideas!Thumbs up!

lol this map is really silly, love it

thanks im glad i did it right yay!!

@bullfrog
Congrats for getting it first try xD glad you liked it!
@jgaultney
Oh come on I updated it to make it easier, and you still epic failed? :P happy you enjoyed it anyway, thanks for playing!
jgaultney 13 Jan, 2020 @ 8:52am
That took awhile to sort out! Very clever. I solved the same as @Narkodes, including
that epic fail at the end. :p A definite thumbs up. :bigups:
bullfrog 13 Jan, 2020 @ 2:33am
What a hoot; this map definitely made me smile - big thumbs up. It looks like I played it before your last update, but I did it have a problem with the last move, it worked first time :)
Leo  [author] 13 Jan, 2020 @ 2:19am
@Teo
I don't know if you noticed that the track platform hitbox is actually bigger than one might think, which in my opinion makes it fairly easy to stand on it. Though I agree it's a bit of a bold move :P Anyway thanks for playing and leaving a comment!
@jandlml
That's the intended solution, great work! I just updated the map to make the track platform go 1 block higher, so now the last fling should be substantially easier to execute :) Thanks for your feedback!
jandlml 12 Jan, 2020 @ 9:44pm
wow this one took quite a bit to figure out the solution. the only thing i could think of seems like an exploit but i flung onto the piston that blocks the stairs ,at the same i had respawned a cube to change the funnel to blue ,which in turn took the other cube to the button that raised the piston. then i could jump off it through a portal and up onto the platform taking me to the door. very difficult for me since my strafing skills are not great.
Teo 12 Jan, 2020 @ 7:08pm
What a funky map; standing on that thin of a surface is a bit of a questionable move to me but as it was clearly the only option it didn't effect my opinion of the map . Great job forcing all those cube moving and respawns :D
Leo  [author] 12 Jan, 2020 @ 3:25pm
@Mikeastro
Wow, that's quite a convoluted idea! But there's no way that would work :P glad you liked it even if it was more simple in the end!
Mikeastro 12 Jan, 2020 @ 2:51pm
I also solved it the same as @Narkodes. Very cool map with a lot of cool moves. For some time I thought that setting up the ending move would require a ghost cube technique with both cubes on the funnel reversal button, respawning the regular cube during the ghots cube interval and thus flinging it into the funnel while the player climbs the stairs. I'm not even sure that would even work out timing wise, but in the end, it wasn't necessary either :p Really nice. Big thumbs up :D
Nobody No-One 12 Jan, 2020 @ 2:13pm
oops, that was in reply to narkodes' comment, I didn't see yours
Nobody No-One 12 Jan, 2020 @ 2:11pm
yep, i did it the same way
i do with it were slightly easier to land that last fling
Leo  [author] 12 Jan, 2020 @ 2:10pm
@Nobody No-One
Ideally, I would have liked to better hide the ending move, but it would have required a massive change of the setup, also I didn't feel like making a hard map this time :P glad you still liked it, thanks for playing!
@Joric
The jump at 1:23 isn't intended, but it was an easy fix. Thanks!
@Narkodes
That's it, all intended! Well, except for the epic fail at the end :P
Narkodes 12 Jan, 2020 @ 1:49pm
Something like that, probably: https://youtu.be/r8VvzVeEHcs
Joric 12 Jan, 2020 @ 1:19pm

Nobody No-One 12 Jan, 2020 @ 1:05pm
Very interesting and creative map. I saw what I needed to do pretty quickly once I realized that there was only one way I could possibly get the required height to reach the exit. . Big thumbs up.
