I have created a simple companion mod for this. It just makes broken blades unlock as a craftable grade as you unlock Basic Weapons Smithing.

I get that, but I am fairly certain at this point that the problem is still related somehow to the fact that game for some reason cannot figure out how to autogenerate the correct icons for the new weapon manufacturer you have created, and thus, there are no inventory icons for those weapons. I don't know why that is. Probably it is looking for an icon file that follows a specific naming format. Or something. I honestly do not know yet.

The rest of the mod is now working.

I don't change weapons, only grades.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 5:15pm
After a little research, I believe the problem is most likely being caused by the fact that the icons are autogenerated for each weapon class. However, I don't yet know of an easy solution.

Also, I apologize for posting 1 zillion comments to your mod page, lol. I'm just very interested in perfecting the small problems with your manufacturer expansion because I feel it is fundamentally better than the others out there.

We're halfway there.

2D inventory images still aren't displaying, but if you purchase and equip a weapon, it now appears correctly in the 3D game world.

Could you tell me where in the FCS inventory images for items are specified?
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 2:37pm
Awesome - I will of course let you know if I see anything else.

I had one more thought while digging around in the weapon files - it would be nice to add a lore-friendly description of the Bluntwalker weapon manufacturer. I haven't played enough to write one yet, but I would be happy to offer one of my own when I feel comfortably versed enough in the world's lore to do so.

Thanks, updated the mod to fix this.
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 2:13pm
Yeah I think that might be the culprit then, copy and pasting lol.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 1:35pm
(these are bluntwalker weapon model specifications)
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 1:34pm
I found the problem. I've pulled up the mod in the FCS. There is a problem with the models for:

Blunt Type 1, Blunt Type 2, Blunt Type 3.

Both the normal and texture map filename are missing leading zeroes (ie. Instead of "8_HI.dds" it should be "08_HI.dds")

This should fix the problem!

TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 12:38pm
I started a new game with just two mods - yours and one that adds a start with a character with good stats and ridiculous money. I then journeyed to Heng (where I have been finding most of these weapons that are not quite working correctly, and unfortunately the problem was still present. So far, I have only noticed it again with the Bluntwalker weapons.

I'm not sure if this helps at all, but last night I noticed also that the jitte was using the model for the guardless katana when I tried buying one to test how its 3d model fared. The texture was also missing, and the model was entirely black.
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 4:46am
I've looked into the data, all of them has texture and normal maps, so I don't get why it does this.
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 4:46am
You can start one of those scenarios that gives you the best chance to find a weapon shop that offers many weapon varieties.
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 4:45am
Try starting a brand new game rather than importing, it might retain the data when you import with items.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 1:09am
Well, I did some further testing by removing all other mods and importing my save. Unfortunately that showed that the problem is definitely caused by your mod.

I also found several more Bluntwalker type weapons with this issue - horse choppers, desert sabres, guardless katana, and jitte are all affected.

If I knew more about modding, I would probably attempt a fix myself, as it seems that there must be something simple missing somewhere.
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 12:43am
Its possible its a conflict with another mod that uses texture or manufacturers since the grade is there but i dunno what else was changed
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 12:42am
Yeah whatever texture and normal maps used, weapons are finicky on which ones they use.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 12:35am
It appears that not all bluntwalker weapons are experiencing this issue - naginata katanas, for example, appear to be just fine.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 13 Feb, 2020 @ 12:31am
I have found a few more things.

It also appears that Bluntwalker type weapons are experiencing an issue where they have neither a model or texture in the inventory.

If you equip one, the model is displayed, but the texture is still missing. Instead of being white, this time it is solid black. Strange.

I noticed this with nodachi, naginata, and also with katana.
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 11:24pm
How odd, maybe its because putting in texture and normals doesn't work with those weapons?
I mean you can't put a highest quality texture on a stick right?
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 9:14pm
(This was noticed with an iron stick, specifically. But as the issue was present with the nodachi as well, I would suppose there are others)
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 9:13pm
Yeah, it seems the 3D textures for broken blades are fine, but the inventory textures are still missing. I'm pretty sure the issue is limited to only the broken blades.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 4:25pm
So far I have encountered other grades you added that look fine in both 3D and inventory. I haven't encountered any more broken blades yet, or if I have, I didn't notice, because the texture is in place. I will of course let you know if I do see anything else that looks to be wrong.
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 3:38pm
Yeah it's just texture, the game plays fine without it.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 3:34pm
All I have seen positively since you applied the first fix is the nodachi I mentioned. I have not encountered additional weapons with this problem as of yet, but then, I haven't explored much yet since that upload.

It is possible that future broken blades I encounter may not have this issue, but I'm not sure why this would be the case. I have not imported since the last update you did, but since this is just a texture reference, an import should not be necessary, right?
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 3:17pm
It also might be save file related?
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 3:17pm
I'm not sure which ones is affected, what is it specifically?
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 3:03pm
I spoke perhaps a bit too soon. While it is corrected in the 3D game world, It does still appear to be very washed out white in the inventory screen. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. If it is, could I suggest perhaps using one of the more worn textures for these blades in ill repair?
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:59pm
Seems to be resolved. I'll let you know if I spot any other little oversights like that. Thank you so much!
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:57pm
The culprit is that any weapon with the grade 'Broken Blade' which is weapon level 1 and rarity of 125% (very common) is that there were no normal or texture maps over said weapon models.
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:56pm
Fixed it and uploaded the latest version.
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:53pm
Oops, actually I didn't refer to any texture maps or skins for the broken blades.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:52pm
I don't yet have enough play data to be able to tell the extent of the problem.
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:51pm
Another possibility is that the 'texture' for said weapon skin is not right for said weapon type? Is it only specific weapon types that are white?
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:51pm
Specifically, I have noticed it with a nodachi of model: Broken Blade and manufacturer: unknown.

I have also seen this problem with other weapons - I believe there was an iron club variant that showed this problem as well.
dr46onfusion  [author] 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:50pm
It's actually because I copied the model and texture files of each grade of weapon from the previous one, I think it's a issue of the mod loader and other mods affecting manufacturers or something.

I stopped working on the mod after some time and started playing other games like KCD and such though. But it should be possible to open said mod in the editor to take a look.
TRUMP GAZA IS #1 12 Feb, 2020 @ 2:48pm
I may have noticed a problem with this mod, although I have several mods in my modlist and it can be hard to tell for sure. But after installing this (and other mods) I began to notice that some weapons appeared to be missing their textures (or something). When this occurs, the weapon is entirely white.

Interestingly, it seems to occur both in the game world and in the inventory screen.

I would love if you could help me resolve this, as the expanded grades for weapons really adds to the game for me!
dr46onfusion  [author] 14 Jan, 2020 @ 2:00am
Since I make changes sometimes to tweak things here and there, the screenshot showing the list of changes can vary, but it's not very far from the modded stat.
dr46onfusion  [author] 14 Jan, 2020 @ 1:34am
After a few testing I realized that my 'Holy Sword scenario' with a Vegabond having -1 Dex and a 2.85x cut Nodachi (Edge Master Type 2)... He fights like crap because he only does 20 damage... LOL!
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Jan, 2020 @ 12:12am
So beware of cranking up the global damage modifier when using this mod, you may overshoot it and end up having limbs be dismembered in a single hit if you piss off faction guards...

But you still might get dismembered in one hit if you piss off any characters with Skeleton to Cross grades and has really high stats in the 50+.
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Jan, 2020 @ 12:10am
But like the screenshot shows, the weight increases the better the gear... The Holy Sword scenario may result in you having a 11kg Nodachi that has REALLY high damage output and really good attack buffs.
dr46onfusion  [author] 13 Jan, 2020 @ 12:09am
Also note, that the upper limits of damage modifiers are way higher, with Cross having 1.6x max cut cap and 1.4x max blunt cap.
