Do the laser antennas with the mod also work on multiplayer online servers? The vanilla laser antennas work very poorly if not at all there.

Any chance you can add a small 2x1x1 Radio Antenna for large grid. with mabe 100km range

ye, i meant to scale it down lol

kinda forgot bout updating it - bc priorit for this change was low, considergn it's meant to be seen from as far away as possible
(idealy i'd up the large beacons' range, by A LOT, instead but that is not possible with simple SBC edits)

Would it be possible for the Small Grid Beacon to have its range scaled down compared to the Large Grid, the way the Antenna and Detector are?

Overall, awesome mod. The fact that a tiny low cost antenna has the same range as a massive one has always bothered me.

sorry to bother you again, but it seems the latest game patch has broken this mod. when installed, antennas do not function and act as if not fully built (incomplete in terminal)

yes, it definitely was mod conflicts, so i cleared them out for now as the extended range is worth it

i hoped order in the modlist would make a difference for the animated antennas replacement, sadly it doesn't though :c
But shifting that around a bit might make a difference for other mods, mind

If he was more available in the comment section i'd ask about doing hybrid mod
i.e. animated antennas release with tweaked ranges etc...

Just tested again,
i'd say, as you said yourself, it may be a mod conflict, i'm pretty sure it is

i also double check the WS release online, as opposed to just checking the local, to be sure.
i recon that's what most modders do, idk

i did notice it sadly not working in conjunction with, for example,
KptKosmit91's 'Animated Antennas' vanilla replacement mod, which i like to use myself
(exept for the DLC dish, which currently works with the mod, although i'm sure that'll no longer be the case, if he adds the Dish to his mod as well)

i've run into a little problem, none of the antennas(including the dish) seem to have the updated max range, only original vanilla values. the beacon works though. it might be another mod conflict but im not sure

Update 2 (i guess... ?)

Added DLC Radio Antenna Dish,
buffed to 500km range (same rebalanced laser antenna)

Extras:

• Included Antenna Dish available for small grid (same physical size as large)

• Included Ore Detector buff (150m for small, 500m for large)
slightly adjusted components-requirement and PCU

hey, would it be possible to add the antenna dish from the frostbite dlc to this mod? with a much higher range than a regular antenna obviously :)

Yep, it grows with the square of range after 200km

that's why i didn't put it in the main title of the mod

But all things considered,
with 2x1x1, (only 3x3x3 smallgrid even) in size
and taking into account the comparatively low cost of a laser antenna,
as the small grid antenna requires only '10' superconductors,
as opposed to '100' for large grid
yet still has the same capabilities
that block should not have 'infinite' range - in my opinion

not to mention that laser antennas still are reportedly
causing performance issues in MP games at times

You say that it's a 'fix' to remove the infinite range on vanilla laser antennas, but they reworked how the LOS check happens specifically so this was possible.
I think it also takes more and more power the further away the antennas are? Not certain on that.
Either way, it's sorta misleading to call it a 'fix' when it's an intentional feature being changed.
