Doesn't toggle.

The Residential GINI computed here is not really a measure of the wealth dispersion of the citizens as described near the top. It is more a measure of the dispersion of the residential building levels weighted by the number of citizens in each building. The way the calculation is performed in this mod, a GINI closer to 0 indicates the residential buildings are close to all the same level while a GINI closer to 1 indicates a wider variety of residential building levels. The GINI can never get to 1 because that would mean 1 citizen is in a top level building and all other citizens are in level 0 buildings and there is no such thing as a level 0 building.

@StayHungryStayFoolish @roberto tomás
Please see my More City Statistics mod that includes most of these statistics.
StayHungryStayFoolish 19 Feb, 2022 @ 4:58pm
@roberto I see you had no luck. I have skipped this mod, due to the insistent button.
roberto tomás 28 Jan, 2022 @ 8:10am
I submitted a PR to make this button repositionable: https://github.com/alfoirazabal/ecostatsmod/pull/1
roberto tomás 21 Jan, 2022 @ 4:40pm
how to move this button?
StayHungryStayFoolish 29 Nov, 2021 @ 9:50am
If you are interested, this could be a great mod, but the button is placed to the wrong part of the screen and it cannot be moved. Dear alfoirazabal, I see that you are not around, but if you would add these features, it would be great. If not can Watch It! get this statistical information?

Peakeriser 29 Feb, 2020 @ 3:42am
Could you make the button movable since my screen cuts off the stats ?
Hech 16 Feb, 2020 @ 12:40am
Could you make it so we can see these stats for districts as well?

:)
saves me making excel spreadsheets each time :)

I wouldn't count on the city income (whether residential or commercial or any other) in this game - the more you have savings the less you earn (doesn't matter your town grows or has same population level). Unfortunately, CO didn't do it right and we cannot have fun here (unfortunatelly)!

Sorry to spoil the fun :) I am disappointed myself.

Capt__Krunch - for that message "Not Enough Buyers" I had to start using public transport to drag shoppers from other corners of the map to that specific area where shops couldn't see many customers - it helped immedietely but then... it was a very specific town i had (or rather few seperate ones, and one had too many shops).

Hi @Aqua Sama, I've just added the "calculation process" and how we are able to come up with a GDP value and a GINI value using the existing available data and figures of Cities Skylines, and trying to translate them to the real world formulas on the section "More in depth 'Economics' and technical info" below "How the indicators are calculated/obtained" in the description.
If you're intrestead, you can also view the source code right here [github.com]
Hope this satisfies your curiosity!

@Capt__Krunch I honestly didn't tought about the problems it might solve when I developed it, I tought about just making a comparison tool between different cities, and the coolness of getting some kind of "real world" adapted statistics, but I can see where you're going and you might be right actually. I'll consider adding an option on the main menu for setting the location of the indicator on the future, it would be nice if you could comment on some different locations. Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated!

For me this has the possibility to be very useful once I learn how to interpret the data for example When we get the "Not enough Buyers" message we might find we have a high "Res. Gini #" which could mean our sims don't have enough disposable income so maybe they need better jobs, education to earn more to spend in Comm. zones. instead of just increasing the population never fixing the problem. Then we'll be able to forecast whats going to happen by the numbers, I don't know Just spit-balling, but this may add another dimension to the game trying to interpret the numbers. I like it, I just wish it wasn't so close to the edge of the screen

How are the individual incomes obtained?
Is there a value measurement for the goods produced by the vanilla industry? Or a value for what's in the shelves, locally produced or imported?

I'm curious!
Best regards!
alfoirazabal  [author] 11 Feb, 2020 @ 6:52am
@André It's mostly a tool of comparison between different cities, I added a section called "What do these indicators tell you" on the description, so you can see what they mean.
André 11 Feb, 2020 @ 2:56am
oke But where for in the game you need this
Or How can this data help me to inprove the game
Thanks
