@Sex Gimp Stalin - There are some Coca farms in the Swamps. There is a large abandoned drug farm on the West side of the Swamp, bordering Spider Plains. Farming a Coca farm requires high skill of farming so take care not to use an incompetent farmer or you will fail trying to farm the Coca. Also I believe you can buy coca leaves from some traders in the Swamps although I have not tried to farm Coca in a few years and used multiple mods at the time so can't be sure.

I googled "dwarf fortress kenshi mod" in the hopes of adding beak things to dwarf fortress, and this came up. Thought it was a DF mod and became visibly confused when trying to install it.

Cant be sure, as I normally only use this mod, but I assumed all peelers were called Marijuana Drying Machines to disguise their true intent.

Any possibility that the marijuana drying machines not be peelers? in my game every peeler is a marijuana drying station and i have some people i want turned into stubby worms

so i have found something strange.. the crafting expanded mod ( stolen version of the famous drugs expanded mod ) if activated along with this patch the patch works. i dont have access to the original mod and i was just fooling around. just putting it out there i might test it but im worried

ok I did everything you said but the mod is marked red in the modmanager
and cannabis is the only thing showing up in game

Just a heads up, you may have noticed.
When you open the link to the mod, there is a button at the top right of the page that you click on to download all at once.
When I went ot he page 1st it said 'Create a Zip'
Click this and it will pack all the files into 1 zip file.
Then click 'Download All'
This will download all the files in 1 folder.
You may need a zip program. I use WinRar. Its free to download and I find the least hassle of them all. You may not need it, but its good to have this software either way.

You need to make 4 folders and sort the files in the respective folders.
1st make a folder named oil, this will be the mod title folder

In this folder place all the files
make a new folder in here named items
In this folder make another folder named icons
In this folder place all the .jpg and .png files (photos) either by dragging and dropping in or cut and pasting.

Make another new folder in the oil folder named leveldata
In this folder place all the .level and .zone files

When you have this completed you should have only 3 loose files left,
_oil.img
_oil.info
oil.mod

Just went through the motions from your perspective and it was all loose files.
Sry I have it in my games folder, even when I delete the game from Steam, Steam only removes what files it installed so leaves the mod for me.

It seems the folder names don't download from that link
Its not a big hassle as its only a few files to rebuild it.
Use the layout I stated below and use the pictures from the last link for reference.

Yes download it all.

The files may need to be sorted.

This is the structure of the mod;
'oil' - This is the name of the mod folder

Inside this folder you have 2 more folders and 3 files, they are;
1. 'Items' - Folder (inside this the folder 'Icons', inside 'Icons' folder all the .jpg files)
2. 'Level Data' - Folder (inside all the .level & .zone files)
_oil.img
_oil.info
oil.mod

Also regarding mod not loading in game with Gen Mod.
I load Oil before Genmod.
You may get incompatibilities somewhere, but I have not found any yet

The drugs Expanded download on http://catalogue.smods.ru/archives/9963 has a corrupted disc image file, and the mod will not load in game along with Genmod

Original Mod is still blocked on Nexus, but the community has kept the mod alive, and will never let it die ;)

he guy who made the "Fear and Loathing in Kenshi" mod before the "Drugs Expanded" creator shut hum down added cactus farms for mescaline in the deserts, and mushroom farming which worked well in the swamps. Any plans to add these features in your version?

I had a mod created off the back of "Fear and Loathing in Kenshi" which I shelved due to the drama, but this might make me start it up again if there's shroom production.

I don't want to deal w/ talking to the "Drugs Expanded" creator after that whole fiasco or I'd do it myself, but seeing as you're actively working on this I thought it was worth asking.

Alex, when I released today's patch, I exported the modfile right beforehand. By chance, see if this fixes your problems. If it does, I will likely need to do the same with my other mods.

Alex, I've been thinking about your problem and I can't think of any good reason you should still be seeing that markup. By chance, did you manually pull any mods into your mod folder? (other than the oil mod) All I can think of is that an older version of the mod is being loaded somehow.

House, I start a new game with only 3 mods, GenMod, durg expanded and this patch, check the price in FL directly, Hashshi still +400% while opium block is +50%

Alex, I checked just to make sure, and I definitely have the margins for lawless areas reduced across the board. Specifically Hashish is set to 90% as there is no enforcement in lawless areas for smuggling hashish.

Are you certain you do not have another mod that loads after mine that alters trade values?

Yep. There's a lot of tweaking to do with trade margins, so we will have to attack it in sections to get all of the various markups back to where they need to be. It is impossible for me to catch every item the first time around. I am actually trying to remove all margins that exceed around 200-250%. Most margins should be between 80 and 150%

For example margin of cocaine HCI 1kg is more reasonable, if you going to smuggling, you need to spend 16k (from swamp) as starting fund, and will get around 4-5k margin (100% in way station 110% in black scratch but you need to get through deadland, venge or the unwanted zone), but if you grow and manufacture it in Gut/Stormgap Coast, you can earn a lot, but take to risk to set up outpost there.

Above just a player prospective might give you some idea how to adjust the Eco system in kenshi world.

I start a new game, I will trade more stuff lately, but apparently the hashish mark-up in Flats Lagoon is crazy to me (I believe this is the famous route in Kenshi vanilla game, and new player who try your mod will definitely find out this route), 97% mark-up brought from swamp and 400% sold in flats lagoon, according to the base price of hashish is quite high compared to vanilla game, around 2k, which means you can easily get around 8~9k per unit(smuggling 10 unit will earns all cash from 3 shops and 2 bars) from a single short trip and a very low weigh, only need to worry little about the beat thing and swamp ninja.
Base on your idea, the one who grow and manufacture the stuff should earns most of the cash, then Lawless area should not have that kind of marks up, overall I think, 10%~30% margin of the base price should be fair enough for trading, which means the one who manufacture it can get 3~5 times reward than trading.

Please let me know how the new trade margins strike you. You aren't supposed to make ridiculous margins. If you want to make a lot of money, you need to trade a lot of the good. Hopefully it is still balanced so that you can make SOME money, but really the people who are growing and manufacturing the stuff themselves should be making the real cash.

I get it, actually this mod is based on the latest original drug expended the creator released on Nexusmods, not the one in steam(which you list on the description)

I really like the original drug expended idea, but i try both your basic version and GerMod version, it pops up warning message that i missed some mods or in incorrect order, but I do set those two mods before this one. And I start the game it just stuck it the beginning. Anything i still missing?
