You can toggle the skybox on and off from the settings menu (F10).
So, you could leave the mod installed and just turn off the skybox while looking for the fallen debris. @-₪EPIC₪- Fail
@hdparm
In the meantime, if you open the menu with F10 and click the button to change the terrain selection, the glow tubes will not be replaced until you restart the game. So if you just open the menu, cycle through the terrain options until you get back to the one you're already using and resume the game, the ReplaceGlowTubes function will not be called again until you restart the game.
However, on my machine (in an existing world) the mod makes FPS drop from ~60 to ~40-50. The FPS drop appears to be caused by the ReplaceGlowTubes() method. Could you add a setting to not replace glow tubes?
The update is in version 6.
Thanks for reporting the issue.
So I will patiently wait for a fix. Thank you for the mod btw, it really makes the hell of the difference.
Ok, thanks, so the problem is here in the StackItems function.
https://github.com/Droog71/FCE_Atmosphere_Mod/blob/master/Atmosphere.cs#L352
If you modify language_data_russian.xml for those 3 entries, it should solve the problem.
There might be a function available to get the localized name of the block. I will look into it.
I think you can test it if you hold Left Shift + F1 (for german, just tested and bug is there too) while the game is starting.
I even reinstalled whole game (including removing folders in AppData) and bug is still there =(
I started to gather info (mod's version is 5, game's version is P25.0 Secret Fixes), but I think I found the problem. The problem appears when I use russian localization. With english localization it works great.
It's strange to see that localization breaks the game in that weird way... Any ideas how it can be fixed? I'd prefer to keep localization on...
Do you have the latest version of the mod installed?
Which block are you trying to build with?
I tried creating a new world, digging up some terrain and building with it.
I also tried enabling the mod on an existing world, getting some organic detritus from a storage container and building with that. Then, tried digging and building with the terrain blocks in that world as well. I could not reproduce the problem.
Strange, but I have that exact problem (with latest version of the game and no other mods). It goes away if I switch to vanilla terrain in mod's settings. Is there any way to fix it?
For me, copper is purple and tin is blue when pinging with the scanner.
I think this is normal.
You can just delete the TerrainData.xml file in the mod directory and the terrain will no longer be changed but glow tubes will still be turned into a tree or cactus and the skybox will still be changed.
If you just want to disable the fog, you could use this mod:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2158515961
However, I must second Myrianne's question: All I wanted to do was change the fog. Is there any way to NOT change the terrain? I tried to change the <iscolored> values in the Terrain.xml file. It worked... to a point. It made the rough hewn rock and organic ditrius blocks completely black when placing them in the world.
Is there a mod that only disables or allows us to change the fog? That's all I really wanted.
"Is there a way to preserve THIS usage WITHOUT having to re-colorize it?"
Yes! This was implemented in the last update. See my comment below from September 2.
Originally, I thought this was not possible, but it is.
If I recall correctly, it has something to do with the TerrainDataEntry class and was fixed along with terrain blocks not stacking in the inventory.
Each block is now given the same value which allows it to stack and be placed in the world.
You mention the fix for building with rock is to change it's "iscolorised" state and mention it defeats the purpose of the mod?
I don't think any of us want it to be colorised; we just want to build with it (and wood and detritus) MOSTLY to be able to fill in gaps in landscape. falling into a cave and being able to pillar out or cover the hole with landscap blocks is simpler than having to use paste.
Is there a way to preserve THIS usage WITHOUT having to re-colorize it?
Fixed terrain blocks not stacking properly in player's inventory.
Fixed not being able to build with terrain blocks.
Added cactus that replaces glow tubes instead of pine trees when dirt terrain texture is selected.

Added RGB sliders for fog color in options menu.

Thanks to everyone who reported bugs.
The game's draw distance has always been low. This mod just makes it more obvious because it removes all the fog, mist and dust effects that mask the edge of the terrain.
If you press F10 in game to open the mod's menu, you can turn on fog, adjust the fog color and draw distance and toggle the mist and dust effects on or off. This way, you can find a happy medium where the edge of the terrain is not so obvious but the world is not completely obscured in mist and fog.
However it seems to have nerfed the in-game 'draw distance' setting. Everything is nice and clear, but all I can see around my base is a little bubble of terrain.
is there something i can tweak in the mod config files to fix this?
If you want to build with rough hewn rock:
Go to: "steamapps/workshop/content/254200/2015426791/Xml/"
Open TerrainData.xml.
In the rough hewn rock section:
Change "<isColorised>false</isColorised>" to "<isColorised>true</isColorised>"
If you plan on using a different preset, also change Snow.xml, Grass.xml, whichever you choose.
Please note that this will defeat the purpose of the mod, returning the terrain to it's original multi-colored state.
Droog71, may I suggest you also change the grass and the flowers colors, to make them more realistic?
Overriding the recipe did not remove the organic detritus requirement, so I just reduced it to zero.
I was going to add a new requirement, but since you are surrounded by millions of organic detritus in the game, the recipe is basically "free" to begin with and I don't want to make it harder to get a paste grinder.
So, the recipe is left as is:
Organic Detritus 0/0 = 1 paste grinder, aka: free paste grinders.
Organic detritus cant be used to build my paste grinder. :( Thats a deal breaker for me.
Rough hewn rock can't be built with anymore because I removed the "colorised" flag which makes the rock all different colors throughout the world. I'm not sure if there is a way around that or not.
Also, glow tubes are now pine trees. =)

Seriously though, this looks gorgeous, and much preferable to the default "vomit of colors" look. Thanks!
