I don't think this disable achievements because you don't activate it like a normal mod
Thomas Jefferson 2 Mar, 2022 @ 7:51pm
vodspod, having any mod enabled will disable achievements

The only mod I will ever use
vodspod 15 May, 2021 @ 9:41pm
So does this effect achievements?
Doggo_the_3nd 7 Feb, 2021 @ 5:00am
my favorite has to be the scaled pike (dragon)
ZStoner 8 Jan, 2021 @ 6:18pm
Thx for the context, and it works for me.

Kakka: I feel like translating this would defeat the joke implied by the description. I'm certainly aware of what it translates to, but sometimes it's just funnier that way, yknow?

'nuljaska': It does not translate to slime. In fact, Wiktionary claims it refers to a specific family of gilled mushrooms. As many of Noita's enemy names are portmanteaus of Finnish words, Google Translate can incorrectly translate things on its own - 'Limanuljaska' is actually two words, 'lima' (meaning mucus or slime) and 'nuljaska' (which Google Translate incorrectly presumes is derived from 'nolla', meaning 'zero' or 'null').

It should be noted that the goal of this mod isn't to make the game feel like all of the names were written for English in the first place. For example, I'm using the literal translation of 'Suomuhauki' (scaled pike) rather than the generally-accepted 'Dragon' in order to show Nolla's wordplay.
ZStoner 2 Jan, 2021 @ 2:38pm
True that Google translate doesn't work for 'Limanuljaska',
but it does translate 'Limaanuljaska' to 'Mucus', thus similar to 'slime'.

Regarding 'Kakkakikkare': The prefix 'Kakkak' translates to 'poop'. The Wiki has chosen 'Poo Turd' :) And the item description is in line with both of these ( This mysterious spiral-shaped artefact smells horrible and feels warm to the touch )

Thanks you Lucca for this update! It's appreciated.

FYI: I'm okay with Ukko returning back... enough of the streamers still call him that.
As for the ' sleazebag / nuljaska ' dudes, the Noita wiki currently refers to all of their kind ( including the Mothers ) as " slime s".

Okay, late Christmas present for you all, ENT is finally updated for the Sauna Update!
With this update also comes a re-evaluation of existing translations, including reclassifying 'nuljaska' enemies as Shrooms (seriously, what ARE these things???), adding translations for the Stone items, de-translating Ukko, and refusing to translate Kakkakikkare.

If I missed something please let me know!

DragonKid: Not a problem with this mod in particular. May be a bug with Noita itself. The API for translation mods has not changed.
PepperFoxx 30 Dec, 2020 @ 3:51pm
Not sure why but this mod being installed seemed to have completely broken my language settings. It defaulted to some incomplete language, which meant there was basically no UI and uninstalling this mod made it worse. Might want to look into this.
Right Dude Here 23 Dec, 2020 @ 12:46am
Hey, I transferred all of the current translations to the new post-update translation.csv file. I personally don't know any Finnish, but if anyone wants to add translations I've turned it into a google doc [docs.google.com].
Once the values have been added we should be able to download this as a csv and simply swap out the current file in the mod.
Lines that still need translation:
1444-1456, 2630, 2632, 2719-2723, 2760, 2781, 2843, 2860-2861, 2942-2950.
I left out Kakkakikkare, Vasta, Vihta and Kantele as they are dont really need a translation.

If we did the work and posted english translated names for all creatures here would it help? Or could we PM you with a list? I don't speak Finnish but perhaps that's a solution...
appy aperture 17 Dec, 2020 @ 7:47am
Understandable. Thank you for the response.
Rathbone 15 Dec, 2020 @ 2:14pm
@RobotLucca Big sad. But I get you, there are certainly more important things in life than updating a free mod. Still, thanks for your work friend.
RobotLucca  [author] 14 Dec, 2020 @ 9:10am
I know this is in dire need of an update to support all the new enemies, but I've been quite busy with other things. Unfortunately I don't know when I'll have the time to update this
appy aperture 14 Dec, 2020 @ 1:36am
I concur that an update is perhaps needed.
Tanelorn 7 Dec, 2020 @ 7:24pm
I'm finding many enemies without translations. Perhaps an update is needed?
Right Dude Here 6 Dec, 2020 @ 1:42am
An update would be great. Is there a public github?
Rathbone 22 Oct, 2020 @ 1:05pm
Hi, will you please update your mod? There have been lots of new enemies added.
Old Man 8 Jun, 2020 @ 2:38pm
Assassin Robot should be renamed to Roberto(from Futurama)
Mik1 8 Jun, 2020 @ 12:42am
lot of the enemy names are slang words so its hard to translate literally. the names on wiki are pretty accurate
RobotLucca  [author] 12 May, 2020 @ 9:33am
Go into options and change the language of the game until you hit "English (Enemies Translated)".
Pixelmod 11 May, 2020 @ 4:04pm
How do I enable it? It says I need to use the options menu but I don't see the option to use your mod
Derpy_Penguin 26 Apr, 2020 @ 6:17pm
i honestly don't know how to respond to that
RobotLucca  [author] 25 Apr, 2020 @ 7:38am
While that's what it says on the wiki, it's not technically accurate to the actual name.
Let's take the basic Acid Slime, or "Limanuljaska". There are three parts:
"liman" (noun) -> slime
"uljas" (adjective) -> brave
"-ka" (suffix) -> not

From this you can infer that we have a "Not-Brave Slime", or perhaps, a "Slime Coward". Notably, the word for "acid" doesn't pop up here.

However, your post made me want to investigate this further, and indeed there is a second way to interpret this: "lima" still refers to mucus/slime, though actually it can also mean "sludge" (in reference to the Toxic Sludge it creates; "lima" on its own does not refer to toxicity), while "nuljaska" appears to be a form of slang for an undesirable person. Thus "Sludge Sleazebag" is actually accurate, while "Toxic Sleazebag" is not! This also confirms several other existing translations on the wiki, such as "Happonuljaska" -> "Acid Sleazebag".
I'll be making an update to this sometime soon.
Derpy_Penguin 24 Apr, 2020 @ 10:10pm
the slime things you find from level one onward are actually called "toxic sleazebags" and this is hilarious
Hypogriph 25 Mar, 2020 @ 3:06am
Thanks! You are a god!
SCHNIRZKE 24 Mar, 2020 @ 6:44pm
same
panguino 16 Mar, 2020 @ 11:37am
Finally I would be able to remember their names
RobotLucca  [author] 15 Mar, 2020 @ 11:28pm
Yeah, I probably should’ve checked there first... though here, I tried to match the words with what I was getting out of GT and visible word patterns (such as nuljaska = shooter) as opposed to assumptions from game code and game design patterns. Sometimes I’d have to fiddle around to get any results at all, which may have created a few extra oddities than needed...

And while Salamurhaajarobotti may not directly translate to a Terminator (rather Assassin Robot), since we have Robottikytta (Robocop) I couldn’t help myself.

In any case expect a few corrections here and there tomorrow.
Philadelphus 15 Mar, 2020 @ 10:41pm
I believe all the names are translated on the Noita Wiki, though if you want to do this yourself I can totally respect that!
