But I fear it's no decal (because I didn't understand how to use them in the right way and make it look good). Maybe I'll reconsider doing them with a republic shield. Besides you are offcourse free to adapt the mod.
@Subutai This looks also very nice, good job. Too sad you didn't released them. I definitely would have subscribed to it!
@SirCartonDeWiart Well I think a big part of the fascination of Rome or in this case its Praetorians can be attributed to the projection screen they deliver us for our phantasy ;-)
This is my Praetorian. Obviously there's quite a bit of influence here from the Gladiator Praetorians. Though I added a crest on mine.
Didn't look into your packfile, but is it just a decal so I can swap it on to make a rep scutum (personal use ofc) ? ;)
@Subutai Well I think many modders startet this way and I'm no exception. Modding the work of another modder makes it easier to lern it step by step without being overwhelmed by all these tables, numbers and the overall filestructure :D
I understand that it is a lot of work. It took me many hours until I was satisfied enough to release it ;-). Nevertheless I'm curious how your Praetorians would look like :)
@GetSomeFriends Actually it is pretty easy to customize the color by modifying the units_variant_colours table. Simply get yourself Rusted PackFile Manager and start modding yourself. There are a lot of good tutorials :)
Amazing nevertheless ! :D
I suppose I could detach the Praetorians into their own standalone mod, but a lot of their variant models are scattered across like three different pack files and I just don't have the time these days to isolate the specific variant models or table entries for the specific officers and unit colours.
I took the Screenshots with the DEI-Version where the Units walk around with the Pilum by default. So i'm not sure but I think they put additional animations in their mod to achieve this. In the DEI land units table under Man Animation it is written rome_man_sword_shield_legionary while it is rome_man_sword_shield in the vanilla table. So maybe thats the place to look for a solution :-)
