The vehicle is very well made and has a TON of possibilities.
Parachutes, hydrogen thrusters and gyros help a lot!
Personally, I just feel that the settings are giving me a un-realistic feeling when turning.
That's my own personal preference, I like rovers that steer with their turning wheels and only use gyros for better stability or boost.
I've played enough with the suspensions parameters to set those up to my liking without DAS. However, you have to adjust those parameters when the ground is changing (when driving on ice vs stone - when your cargo is full vs empty - when going up a very steep hill vs flat terrain).
So althought I agree with you, this vehicle is very user friendly, especially for new players.
It is welded and go on all situations (survival, creativity, x10 or x2 inventory)!
At the end of the day, personally, if players don't want to touch parameters and have a more realistic feeling I still advise the DAS script :)
I encourge everybody who wants the LARV to perform more dynamic, to play around with the wheel-settings. I've set it up to be as user-friendly as possible, but if you have a good level of experience with ground vehicles, there's a lot you can do to push the cars limits before turning to scripts.
However, of course scripts are fine too. I've played around with DAS a lot and it is definitely an awesome tool. But personally I would not use it on this vehicle.
I've added the DAS script recently and it makes the vehicule so good you can't flip unless you want so. And you can turn without the need to control gyros !
I got used to checking the wheels everytime before I'm going on a trip and use the handwelder on them/let the vehicle roll over a repair-platfrom, even if they're at full health. A friend mentioned that damage on the tires can spawn scrap metal inside the wheels, causing even more damage and eventually will let them explode. Wasn't able to verify this yet, but welding the tires regulary did help to prolong their live. Doesn't always work but it is noticable.
Also, I need all the help I can get to refine my designs, and since yours are really amazing I'd be happy if I could get some advice from you if it's not a bother.
@Mackinaw: All my submissions on the workshop are free to use for screenshots, videos and other SE-related content without my explicit permission. A link to the original file is always appreciated, though.
By the way, I'm thinking of using some of your ships to take screenshots for my new design's workshop page (because frankly your ships are amazingly good-looking)! Would you be okay with that? (I'll give you full credit of course, but that's a given.)
No pun intended. Try to press "1" or "P" to disengage the brakes.
(I also accidently discovered how equally good this vehicle is at tobogganing down a mountainside at terrifyingly high speeds. Once I stop shaking I'll tell you how fun it was.)
Looks: 11/10
Handling: 11/10
Durability: 11/10
Terror: 11/10
Jokes aside, this is an incredible little rover. Amazing work!
Muy buena explicación de los comandos
so yeah, removed that and its all working fine now! yippee!
Is this only on my end or the workshop having issues? Also, there a fix or am I just going to have to rebuild it based on the screenshots?
Seeing an item go from nothing to five stars in about seven days is definitely a new high for me. Thanks to everyone who subscribed, voted and commented on this thing. I know I don't reply very often, but every single rating and any form of feedback is much appreciated and I hope you all have a lot of fun with the scout car.
More ground vehicles will follow very soon. But before that, I have another large grid ship to finish...
