@Pizzaguy, You can create your own by subscribing to Agaohonoh's US Third Rail tracks instead.

Afterwards, you want to go into the configuration files for this mod and change one for every track file.

At the bottom of the text file, update the following information:

t.sleeperModel = "railroad/agohonoh/single_sleeper_3rdRail_hs.mdl"
t.trackStraightModel = {
"railroad/agohonoh/2m_3rdRail_hs.mdl",
"railroad/agohonoh/4m_3rdRail_hs.mdl",

"railroad/agohonoh/16m_3rdRail_hs.mdl",
}

This will substitute all of the UK Third Rail models to be the USA Versions. You're Welcome and Enjoy.

So while I absolutely love this mod, I have decided that I needed to find a better way to utilise the 3rd rail into the map, without the clipping at junctions and on level crossings. Can't believe I didn't think of it sooner. I have just changed the specs of the 3rd rail trains in the game files from Electric to Diesel trains. Now I can set up the line un-electrified and add in the wonderful 3rd rail model when suitable. This is so much cleaner and much easier when placing stations as you can use the pre-made ones from workshop :steamhappy:

im also getting it, tried replacing section of track with this so i didnt have overhead cables and i get an error saying the route isnt electrified.

Unless some of the trains that are made for 3rd rail power breaks it, I don't know what to tell you. Only tested with this mod and trains that need it, nothing else enabled. Will have to test again once I get around to doing UK stuff again. May just be some specific trains that break it

it does work in stations. Try it in a vanilla station for starters. If it was working and 'suddenly stopped' working then check which mods you recently added.
There was a point when vanilla stations would not accept custom tracks but urban fixed that. There are some mods that predate that fix that effectively 'undo the fix'.

these don't work through stations anymore. The game flat out refuses to accept the station modules as electrified

been trying to work out how to get the 3rd rail to work, and this seems to be the only "no catenary" mod that doesn't have absurd dependencies. Thanks for the work :)

Hi Agohonoh - :) - Thank you - yes lets work together if there are issues. Due to how TFP2 handles tracks especially in the modular station, in some ways I hope Urban do this themselves and make both our mods redundant :)

I'm glad my mod's gotten some legwork and fostered some more work! It seems like we shared much of the same head scratching when it comes to wrangling with TpF 2 way of handling tracks.

I've gotten a few requests to make my mod properly electrified but I didn't see that as justified and it seems like it actually creates more aesthetic bugs that I didn't know about because I decided not to, which is unfortunate. So I'm glad you've made this so I can maintain my design choice.

Anyways, keep up the great work. I may make some updates to my mod in the future so if it breaks anything you've done please let me know and we'll see what's going on.

@Onlyo - I know - should really be a note in the description about that - Its internal game code - I can't fix it - Game assumes only vanilla track it knows about exists. So this mod tricks it into thinking that 3rd rail is high-speed rail with catenary and then minimises the catenary. Unfortunately when you put it next to another piece of track it doesn't care what I define the 3rd rail to look like and just plops down full size catenary and other things go weird as well.

When third rail electrified as parallel to none 3rd rail track OLE is no longer invisible

update on 3rd rail in stations - Well there seems to be a problem - although I can get the third rail to plop into a station. the game code that does the routing wont recognise it as electrified even though it has all the right settings. Also the code that plops down the track graphic plops it alternately left to right and right to left which is just plain annoying.
