When a pack is opened, it runs a script that determines whether the pack contains a rare, ultra rare, etc. Next, it randomly selects an appropriate card for each rarity slot, searches the deck, and destroys all other cards in the deck. This means that each pack contains every card in the set, and in later sets they contain duplicates of the commons, uncommons, and rares to act as reverse holos. So, opening a pack is searching and selectively deleting from 52 to 463 cards. I get similar lag when manually searching a large deck, so I suspect that is the source of the lag spike. This idea is supported by lag time differences between sets of very different sizes: try opening a Fossil pack (smallest set) and a Cosmic Eclipse pack (biggest set)!

Hi everyone! With Lotus Assassin's blessing, I have re-uploaded the mod with the additions of Battle Styles (BST) and Chilling Reign (CRE). I intend to support the mod indefinitely, so you can expect to see the Evolving Skies expansion as well when it is available!

@TheKuhlOne I'm okay with you taking the reigns and reposting the whole mod; after all it is a lot of work to maintain and if you pull it off, it'll be your baby then.

As for the box art, the images never come flat. It's a lot of photoshop, scouring the web for good shots of each side, screenshotting youtube videos, and using images from auction sites. For the new sets, you should be able to get all you need from the official Pokemon TCG store when the set page is up, or leaked official store images, and also some youtube videos for any missing sides. Flatten and clean them up in photoshop, color correct so that they all match (if they come from different sources), then you can put them in the template psds from the source files and you should be good.

@Lotus Assassin The only thing I haven't been able to replicate is the box art: I assume you're making the models, but where are you getting those flat-pack images/textures? Also, I'll be ready to add on BST and CRE booster boxes soon: is it possible to give me editing permissions for the mod, or should I repost the whole mod myself, or do you have another idea? Feel free to DM me to proceed if you prefer :)

@TheKuhlOne Unfortunately, I don't have the time to give a step by step process. But what I can do is share all the files I used to create new sets, which includes photoshop files and some text notes with reminders of the steps. It's not especially organized but it's better than starting from scratch for anyone who wants to take over. Not going to lie, it's not an easy process so best of luck to you brave soul.

Is Blastoise from the Base Set actually in the Base Set? I've gone through lots of Base Set boosters trying to find it and couldn't. Is it just super rare?

FlamezOfGamez found naming errors in TCG mod, that also apply here:

"Holon Energy FF (Dragon Frontiers 85) is mistakenly named Holon Energy GL. (All other Holon Energy cards are correctly named.)
Scoop Up Cyclone (BW Plasma Blast 95) is named just Scoop Up."

In the same comment Pokemon Catcher errata is mentioned:

"Additionally, I've noticed that Pokemon Catcher (BW Emerging Powers 95) requires a coin flip, which is an errata it did not receive until XY (in the XY Kalos Starter Set), where it was reprinted with updated text. The secret rare version of Pokemon Catcher (BW Dark Explorers 111) does not have errata text. Is this intentional? Should the secret rare be changed as well, or should the original be un-errata'd?"

The Energy Counters have now been updated to support all Special Energy. Please report any bugs or missing Special Energy in the comments. You can also click on the energy icons to quickly retrieve energy cards without searching the Energy Counter bags.

@Solstar Nope, this mod focuses exclusively on randomly generated booster packs. Ryomyking's excellent Pokemon TCG mod has you covered for everything else like full lists, starter decks, coins, mats, etc.

@Silge It depends on the set size, the more cards the set contains the longer it takes to open. 20-30 seconds is not normal though, 1-5 seconds at most in my experience. Also, opening more than one pack at once will definitely slow it down more so stick to one at a time. It seems to be a cpu/pc performance issue as far as I can tell. Closing all other applications might help, or of course upgrading your pc will probably make the game run faster ;)

@Manicket Nope, this mod focuses exclusively on booster packs and sealed play. Ryomyking's Pokemon TCG mod is a good option for picking out cards and deckbuilding.

the mod is beautiful and works perfectly, but I only have one question, can I choose/search for a specific card?

Hey, I love just opening packs for collection's sake, and this mod is just perfect for that, thank you! I do have a problem though... some packs take way longer to open than others, the game will freeze for like 20-30 seconds when I open a pack, while other packs basically take no time at all... I don't really get it, is there something I can do to fix that?
