i noticed 1 minor issue only. artillery ships, such as greek ballista, when set to normal ammo (not flaming) will appear to shoot the flaming ball and it has smoke trail, instead of shooting the plain rock. Or is that an intended feature?
You can see the difference on horses models pretty well:
On the left they lose they all look the same and on the right they have different colors
On roman infantry units it's more subbtle and you will see more differences with celtic factions for example
I just tested the mod and it is working as expected
I will put some screenshots in the description to show exactly what to expect from it
i tried to find a way, but it is not working for now
maybe one day me or someone else will find a way
yes maybe if some developer from ca would tell us it would be easier ;)
For shogun 2, i already tried some things on it, but nothing worked for now (data files are really different from rome and attila so it can't be done the same way)
you still lose details in distance, but now the game keep using the same unit models even when the unit is far from the camera
The result is much better in my opinion: the units on the battlefield don't seem to become all the same when you zoom out anymore
I appreciate your efforts. 5 pixel Sprites in a total war game... would have preferred lower fidelity units animations or skins than basically removing units from the game by LODing them to black shimmering blobs or pixel sliding men.
sorry for late reply
in fact if you want to remove unit lod from the game, you need to modify the 3d models themselves, but i don't have any tool to do so right now
_tables. All of them seem to have their own range settings as well. I'm not sure how these two range settings are supposed to work together, I'll look further into it. Maybe you take a look at it as well?
At the time i thought the modifications i did impacted units too, but i was wrong
So for both Attila and Rome 2 the lod remover works only for trees buildings and equipements
I tried to find a way to remove lod on units aswell but it seems to be quite hard to do
what my mod actually does is removing lod on buildings and trees and on some of units equipements only
sorry for putting wrong description about this mod
