Buzzerker, they were called Spathas. Its actually what roman cavalry used. It was basically a really long gladius

does anyone remember the movie Gladiator? in the begining they are about to battle a German tribe and Maximus the general is in charge of a cavalry unit and they carry long swords , Roman Gladius type swords but with a longer blade unlike here these cavalry have the short gladius the infantry use.
