The relevant shader code moved and changed a lot, so while it is possible to migrate the mod, it will take some time and effort to do so.

Overwriting shader files in mods seems to crash the game since 7.0 and is likely not on my end.
I shared the issue on the Egosoft/X4 discord. Let's see if any dev can help.

I would like to have more time looking at it but I am super occupied with modding Pharaoh at the moment.

I'm also getting the bug where the NPC comms window is compressed. Ganossa - really hope you're still working on this mod and can fix it, as aside from this issue GemFX makes the game look amazing

There might be quiet a few changes obsolote to be honest, as I did not touch the mod all that much since before 4.0 (they broke some of my pipeline after, which is why MSAA is now recommended).

I am working on other projects at the moment but I believe -given enough time- I do will come back to clean things up here :IGNIZ:

Unfortunately I also just noticed, that GemFX kills the glow effect of nearby stars. Spotted in Black Hole Sun IV. The sun glare and light corona is completely missing. Hoping for a fix.

At the time I worked on the mod, it was only possible t replace the existing number of presets, which is why a single pack is limited to that number.
You will unfortunately need to swap those out.

The vanilla ones are not available with GemFX as I found them to have nearly no impact on visuals (mostly adjusting saturation)

Great mod!
Is there a way to make presets from other GemFX mods show up in the list, like, have presets from all the mods in one list.
And is there a way to add the vanilla colour correction options as well? I'd love to click through all of them comparing without having to toggle things off and on and restarting the game.
It's hard to decide for one! :D

Since 6.0 it seems this mod causes my on-oard npc videos to appear as miniatures in the top left corner of the target/map window :(

The problem is that only MSAA still provides a frame buffer that GEM FX relies on to accurately calculate light sources.
The devs unfortunately removed it from other AA methods in some patch.

I personally use 8x MSAA with AMD FSR Ultra quality. (that is on 1440p)

Ganossa, one last quick question: I know that you recommend MSAA, but I've always used SSAA x 4. Is this just as good, or would you still recommend that I use MSAA instead?

In the Beta 6.0, try
- submod "gemfx_ganossa_luts_02"
- select filter "Undiscovered Country"
- set Gamma to 88
- of course use any MSAA filter to get proper light effects

I tried with the 6.0 Beta and it works just fine.
Nothing has changed on their side in supporting various AA methods, so the current recommendation is:

any MSAA to have it fully compatible

The mod makes the game look nice, but it seems like ships and stations have green lines around them whenever they are far away, how do I fix this?

Oh, I see the black screen problem on entry to new system with highway lines is not for me only.

Not sure about removing suns entirely but it does remove some sun effects that had been looking very artificial in previous patch version. I might remove those changes and see if it improved.

For some reason, this mod seems to cause the sun in some sectors to disappear completely, like Argon Prime or Profit Center Alpha.

I could still consider to get rid of the unpredictable texture entirely until its more stable/equal in all the graphic settings.
Like you wrote, before a certain patch it was fine but then it got iffy.

MSAA, for some odd reason, still has it working as it was before it got all bugged out.

I need to adjust my Real Space project and maybe make a Real Space 2 I think something has happened as my darker LUTs appear brighter than vanilla colour profile now it only changed the spectrum of colours.

That was a issue I tried to fix back in late 4.x

In the "worst" case, I will just stop using that buggy "bloom" texture and tune down the light effects until the devs change it again.

@Ganossa: You sure you mean superhighways? I use a mod that removes all in-sector highways. But superhighways connect sub-sectors, so I m pretty sure you don't want them to be removed.

I didn't try it with MSAA tbh. I'm going to enable the mod again and try it.

Same issue for me when going through accelerator to next system, everything black except for hud and sun in Hewa's Twin II. Disabled mod and restart game all good.

I actually use a mod that disabled superhighways. Do you see the issue also when you select MSAA as anti-aliasing option?

For me everything except the hud turns black whenever I take the superhighway into sector "Averice 1" (is that the right name? In German it's "Habgier 1"). And I use Real Space preset.

EDIT: It works when I DISABLE distortion. GemFX is then still working - at least the picture reacts to changing the preset. And when I enable distortion, everything goes immdiately black again.
But no matter th distortion setting, when using the suprhighway again, the issue appears again. Just like Mo¡stDreams reported-

I figured anything which reloads the sector shaders in some way causes this issue.
