Pink aliens... I think Peter Griffin would say; "Oh, that's gay." for some reason... (PS: Peter Griffin is Peter Griffin, he will always say random stuff that might be interpreted as rude)
Midnight Sun Highlander 26 Oct, 2023 @ 11:54pm
Kinda surprised nobody's made this for Allies Unknown yet, huh
Deadput 10 Dec, 2021 @ 5:44am
It can work alongside them, I've used this with my own with no issues since this mod just adds skins but doesn't replace any like my own does.
Nero 9 Dec, 2021 @ 11:13pm
so how does this work with other reskinner mods?
Red110 20 Mar, 2021 @ 10:31am
Update with new skins?
Knight of NSFW 12 Jan, 2021 @ 12:38am
@TheGamingArchaeologist: You need to find the right ID for the alien but I can confirm it works for at least the first skin in the Armory, I do not know if ingame it will show the randomised mix or not. The IDs are typically in the source folder, on the file "[SomethingElse]_Characters.uc". They are typically in this format:

CharTemplate.strPawnArchetypes.AddItem(" GameUnit_Chryssalid.ARC_GameUnit_Chryssalid ")
N.C.V. 26 Dec, 2020 @ 10:00pm
Is this compatible with the diverse archon mod?
The Gaming Archaeologist 25 Sep, 2020 @ 1:50pm
Can this be used to reskin ally aliens from mods like Allies Unknown?
gliscor96 9 May, 2020 @ 12:15pm
this mod seems to work as intended, for the most part. other then the pod cutscenes being strange, this mod seems to mostly work.
tastiger841 30 Apr, 2020 @ 6:58pm
I think the reason playable aliens doesn't work is it uses different names. But the order card does change the skin for the accompanied allies on missions.
Mad Grenaider22 27 Apr, 2020 @ 11:54am
I don't think it works on allies, just played a game with playable aliens and this mod installed. All the enemy sectoids were all of a different color, while the one I got was stock colored.
GrimRose0w0[TTV] 27 Apr, 2020 @ 10:45am
yea big question, can this work on allies? The white skin for Viper is like Torque from Xcom:Chimera Squad, so I would really like do use it.
Nade 27 Apr, 2020 @ 3:37am
i like rainbow aliens lkike a pony
Ace-1 26 Apr, 2020 @ 7:32pm
will this work on ally aliens. I'm using a mod that allows aliens to be recruitable called playable xcom 2 races
Nii 26 Apr, 2020 @ 4:45pm
Shame this is for WOTC only, I still have to get that sometime.
Lord Arrojacast 26 Apr, 2020 @ 2:44pm
@Ace Noice
@Arkhangel Right, I get that, but that is what I instinctively assumed
Arkhangel 26 Apr, 2020 @ 3:29am
@Cryoflair: there's already a Shiny golden Sectopod. With jump jets. CX made it. It shows up if you leave those Pygmy Sectopods (Hunters) alone long enough to call one.

@Arrojacast: in fairness, that game literally just released.
Ace  [author] 25 Apr, 2020 @ 11:23pm
I have a Chimera Squad update planned ;) @Lord Arrojacast
Lord Arrojacast 25 Apr, 2020 @ 9:40pm
I saw the title and immediately assumed that there were going to be green mutons like Axiom.
Guess I need to be less hasty.
Cool idea still.
Ace  [author] 24 Apr, 2020 @ 7:40pm
I'm sticking to Alien because most trooper mods are differentiated entirely by color. With aliens, typically they use different models so some color variation won't cause as much confusion.
Cryoflair 24 Apr, 2020 @ 6:33pm
Are the recolors going to be exclusive to aliens or will you (later) move onto advent and their robots?

I'm hoping for a shiny golden sectopod
Ace  [author] 24 Apr, 2020 @ 1:41pm
@Cyber Von Cyberus Thanks! Glad I was able to make them more likeable
Cyber Von Cyberus 24 Apr, 2020 @ 11:55am
I love the new overhaul of the skins, makes them much more pleasing to look at
Nikolajgs 24 Apr, 2020 @ 11:13am
question. if i use playable Xcom Aliens. do these Skins become available? can i have a White or Red Viper? or will they still be just the standard ones.
tastiger841 24 Apr, 2020 @ 4:37am
Chryssalid next? Though IMHO it is best to have say couple variant and closer to its default color (no white because of the TLP dlc).
Ace  [author] 23 Apr, 2020 @ 3:22pm
v3.0
-Added 4 new Archon skins
-2 new Berserker skins
-1 new Viper skin
-Brought back the green sectoid skin and toned it's colors down
-Toned down colors on a number of the more saturated skins. Pretty much every sking should be realistically colored now, minus the Darth Maul muton.
-Lowered the purple berserker's size to be 1.15x instead of 1.5x
Cryoflair 23 Apr, 2020 @ 1:14pm
Though the purple berseker is a bit too large.
Cryoflair 23 Apr, 2020 @ 1:13pm
Hey, that seems like a great idea! Animals, even within the same species, will tend to have some variations in size so why not aliens as well?
Ace  [author] 23 Apr, 2020 @ 6:58am
@tastiger841 No way to shrink her size in the inis, but I'll tone the size down in the next update to a more reasonable level
tastiger841 23 Apr, 2020 @ 4:00am
Love the new look mutons, is it possible to reduce the size of the purple berserker a bit? I was a bit shocked to see her the first time, the one was next to her must wet his pants :steammocking:
Deadput 22 Apr, 2020 @ 6:29pm
Hmmmmm this could be a way to incorporate (with permission from the original authors) the skins of alien units like the ABA or LW ones could instead be used as alternative looks for existing base game enemies.

Centurions and Elite skins might look weird on normal Mutons but it could help for variety.
Arkhangel 22 Apr, 2020 @ 5:54pm
@ryousanko: Actually makes more sense for them to be differing due to how the public would view them if seen. Kinda more obvious they're "Battle-thralls" if they're identical. Gotta remember ADVENT's main power on Earth is their good publicity and how they twist the media.

That kinda thing gets shot to hell when folks start noticing all the aliens are carbon-copies.
Ace  [author] 22 Apr, 2020 @ 5:21pm
you can turn off what you don't like in the config now. @brain nibbler also which colors did you feel were too extreme? I wanna try and make some more realistic skins for those interested
Brain Nibbler 22 Apr, 2020 @ 2:15pm
It's a cool idea but I wish the color variations weren't so extreme. I just want the enemies to look like they're separate entities, not from different dimensions.
Azure 22 Apr, 2020 @ 1:25am
One Snek, Two Snek, Red Snek, Blue Snek...
Cyber Von Cyberus 22 Apr, 2020 @ 12:55am
Oh nice ! Thank you both for this update
Ace  [author] 21 Apr, 2020 @ 7:59pm
@PM_Zigg Price
I've updated the mod to run an Enemy Reskinner. It should have been compatible before, but if it wasn't it definitely is now.

@Stackboy101
It should, test it and find out

@MrMister
That was a great idea. Just updated the mod.
Ace  [author] 21 Apr, 2020 @ 7:57pm
LATEST UPDATE:

-Mod now requires Enemy Reskinner
-Added Muton with orangish skin and white armor
-Added Muton with greyish skin and red armor
-Added Sectoid with dirty red skin
-Added Kool-Aid Man Andromedon per request. Disabled by default because of model switching issues, but won't break the game if enabled.
Slackboy101 21 Apr, 2020 @ 4:31pm
This work with Allies Unknown?
MrMister 21 Apr, 2020 @ 3:26pm
Also, Enemy Reskinmer knows not to do stuff when either a unit or a skin referenced im it doesn't exist, so you could potebtiaññh include skins for modded units amd players who don't have those mods wouldn't have any problems with you doing so.
MrMister 21 Apr, 2020 @ 3:23pm
If you don't want to have to make your own user-editable config dependency, you should definitely make this mod dependent on Enemy Reskinner . It's kinda like WSR, but for enemy skins. You can then simply pack your mods with just the new skins in .upks and an EnemyReskinnerRedux.ini that adds one skin per line.

Read the instructions in the mod's ini, as you can specify that new skins don't replace old ones and knstead add to the pool of possibñe skins a unit can take (like vanilla does with male and female advent troopers/captains), which is exactly what you want to do.
Zigg Price 21 Apr, 2020 @ 2:51pm
How does this interact with enemy mods, such as A Better Advent? Will it mess with the colors of the new enemies, or will it just recolor the vanilla enemies?
Jet Sunstrider 21 Apr, 2020 @ 2:41pm
Fancy flashy colors. Me like. After all the hours and completed playghoughs in Xcom 2, this will be nice to freshen things up a bit. looking forwards anything you may add to this.
Ace  [author] 21 Apr, 2020 @ 11:30am
@KHFreack Not exactly sure, but if you end up testing it yourself please let me know so I can adjust the description accordingly.
Arden 21 Apr, 2020 @ 10:28am
could this work with https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1218007143
so you could change the color of the aliens that you recruit?
Ace  [author] 21 Apr, 2020 @ 10:17am
It actually started to bother me too, so I just replaced it @Cyber Von Cyberus
Skarsatai 2.0 21 Apr, 2020 @ 9:58am
possible to tweak the ini so that I can i.g. change only the vipers color ?
to get all WELL ACKSHUALLY, the only ones we know are clones are sectoids, advent hybrids, and presumably vipers. even then, hybrids still exhibit genetic variety! so technically this mod could be lore-friendly
Cyber Von Cyberus 21 Apr, 2020 @ 8:51am
I like it, sadly I find the green sectoids a bit weird but, oh well.
Flashstriker 21 Apr, 2020 @ 8:26am
I mean considering some of what we've since in CS' trailers, this might be more lore friendly than you think. Nice one!
