@Astral Descend - Given that it is now like 4 years, can I assume that the stable/non-beta version of CHL has now been updated to include the fix for idle suppression?

As much as I loved the chaos of big firefights, a lot of the time it would destroy my framerate and eventually crash. Thanks for this mod of a mod lol

Great mod for a mod. I agree the original Idle Suppression mod was too distracting. Reducing the frequency of the suppression shots fixed it for me and it's working great so far.

@legodude17
The beta Highlander fixes only the performance degradation caused by Idle Suppression over the course of the mission. It caused event the most powerful PCs to begin struggling after enough time spent on a tactical mission with Idle Suppression.

@Astral Descend: I use the Beta CHL and I still get performance issues with Idle Suppression.

Thanks Astral

For those that are using this mod due to performance issues with the "default" Idle Suppression: that is a base game bug and simply increasing squad size and enemy pod size (even without Idle Suppression) would lead to the same performance degradation. THIS HAS BEEN FIXED completely in CHL v1.22.0. At the time of this comment, you need the beta CHL:

I got it to work using the Game Files thing.

I'm sorry to hear that, but there must be a mod conflict between whatever you have installed, as these mods are still working for me.

If you tried to remove them and it's not working; sometimes that happens - Steam fails to remove the mod files when you unsubscribe.

To fix this, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500 and delete these 2 folders to fully remove both Idle Suppression mods:

1469163357 <--- original mod
2077547986 <--- My "lite" version

If that still does not work, right-click XCOM 2 in your Steam Library, select Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files. It will reset your Settings to the defaults but should fix any problems.

The folder number is 2077547986 :)

Update... I tried actually going to the config file to see if it was a problem in there, but I couldn't find the actual "1588383250" folder... I think neither mod has installed properly.

@alex_nares
For some reason, this broke the Idle Suppression mod for me... Even when I uninstall it, the original mod just doesn't work... I've even tried reinstalling Idle Suppression but that doesn't work... They just don't do anything anymore.

To make custom edits, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1588383250\Config\XComAnimation.ini

I will put this in the description.

Alex Nares  [autor] 1 MAY 2020 a las 15:56
You can configure the chances in the INI if you please. Even at these settings, there is alot of activity.

IdleChance at 20 and Fire again at 8 should be better

Marvelous, thank you for this.
Baka Racker 29 ABR 2020 a las 17:30
Awesome, I love that mod but it always leads to lockups.
Mac Dog64 29 ABR 2020 a las 5:20
Brilliant thank you, I wanted to give the original mod a go but was worried my game would crash. Hopefully this version will be good:)
MementoMori 28 ABR 2020 a las 22:29
Thank you for this Sir
Alex Nares  [autor] 28 ABR 2020 a las 18:38
@Mr. Bibbles
It doesn't crash with me, but I did not create the original mod. This mod just edits another mod. You should ask your question on the original mod page so that the author might respond. There is a link on the right side of the screen under Required DLC.

It looks like the author has an FAQ for such questions.
Mr. Bibbles 28 ABR 2020 a las 18:27
Just making sure: Is this safe from crashing the game?
kenanthebarbarian 28 ABR 2020 a las 16:58
Brilliant!
