I haven't played Chimera Squad in a long time but I'm coming back in and I'm slapping some mods on to freshen things up and make things more interesting. I'm worried that this mad will buff my team too much, I understand that lore wise, Chimera Squad should be pretty elite and strong but is balance taken in to consideration as well?

Redgrape, are you not seeing the same level of buffs to the epic weapons in the game? You should as I modded all three tiers of weapons. Epic weapons are tier 3 and in most cases I adjusted them with the same amounts i describe in the details. The vanila game sometimes only offer a single additional point of damage between tier 2 and tier 3. What Epic weapons give you are the skill abilities that a character can get so that when the gun is equipped the player gets that skill. The skills that the epic weapons have are just references to the actual skill data. So to get an improvement in that skill you need both A Better Arsenal and A Better Agent.

Thanks Tradik for the feedback and extra testing. I'll be interested to hear what you found. I've thought about adjusting my mods to support the Shen mod due to its popularity. I'm not sure why reinforcements would cause a crash from my mods but maybe its how I must have modified them some where. Even so it should only be a problem with A Better Agent... ugh, but then again it may be in A Better Start.. I could have mistaken "reinforcements" to be the good guys as the robots you can have on the squad are called "reinforcements"... I'll take a look either way. Let me know what you find.

I've been experiencing crashes since I activated these mods, usually when reinforcement waves spawn. It happened when using all three base A better mods, and also with the 3 lite versions. Haven't tried with just one of the mods, but at a guess I think it might be an interaction with the mod 'New Agent: Julian Shen,' because I think I might have had him in the squad with most or all of the crashes.

I'm starting again now without Shen to see if it happens again.

Yea, I can only update the character templates of the game. I would have to know the other mod's agent templates so that I could apply my changes to it. I've toyed with the idea after seeing the popularity of the recent agent mods.
Actually if you take a look at the files under my DIY Modding section in the details you will see how I buff the characters. You can easily open up the agent mod and make similar changes.

Mighty Moe, I'll go look and see what buffs I gave to the gauntlet Zeph wears. That could either be in the WeaponsData.ini under A Better Arsenal or under the SoldiersSkills.ini. If you don't have the A Better Arsenal you can give that a look and see. Eitherway I'll check it out and see if I missed a buff.

Kltjon, Dodge boosts confused me on what the dodge cap and magnitude are. I would see boosts that were in the tens of points and then boosts that were just a couple of points. I took the approach that it was like X2 and assumed it was in the 10s. I am not totally sure if some boosts are the-chance-to-dodge and some are the points or to-hit-percent mitigated. Some times my boosts are not visible in the descriptions at certain places/times in the UI. I'll go look at Claymore's unlock though.

is dodge capped at 100? With my fix torque had dodge base at 50 after Training. Unlock potential said it boosted it further by 65, but stat is boosted by 50 only. Also, I can't see what defense is, but in game the breach bonus is like +25 or so. Claymore's unlock potential boosted it by 2. Was that supposed to be 20?

really love your mods man but idk if i failed to realize or if its the case but zephyr feels way weaker than her teammates who shred enemies in 1 hit dealing 10 dmg easily while she punches the
enemies for a measily 6 if you know how i can buff her manually that would be amazing i just want to go full one punch man on their ass

Thanks for the catch. I'll go take a look at the Inquisitor. Problem with CS is that some of the mob types fit both the enemy and the player. I always fear that I'll misinterpret that and give the buffs to the undeserving forces of evil. ...but then again with all the other buffs one can still make easy work of them.

Thanks for checking. I read this was a pretty involved edit for WOTC, although unlike the other game, CS does let me equip a laser sight and a scope at the same time (no mods enabed). I noticed Torque lost her 20 point dodge advantage compared to other agents. I edited the Inquisitor entity to fix this.

Just cracked open the Weapons Data file to see if there was a slot count upgrade. There isn't such a field that I could see. I think it is because there are categories of weapons mods. You can't have both tranq and talon ammo or possibly two different kinds of scopes. I even looked to see if you could add multiple bonus abilities to a single weapon mod. Nope, that's hard coded too. Without writing scripts and code this may not be possible by just adjusting configs.

No doubt, but its all good. I doing my best to keep up. I'm still getting go backs on LWOTC X2. Just pushed an update to LWOTC A Better Arsenal to fix Psi abilities.

Kttjon, I'll see if that is possible. I think it is an easy change but I'm not sure what the UI will do with it.

Just pushed an update,
Fixed Axiom's shrug-it-off ability to correctly reduce damage instead of increasing it. - Thanks Daemon.

Fixed Stupor so that it will always stun for 2 turns and increased it to a 90% chance from a 50% chance it will stun. - Thanks Mournsorrow.

I always worry about this. I try to get these mods out quick and don't typically get to play the game through. In most cases when I don't know if adding higher or lower numbers is a postive change for the player I will leave it untouched. On this one I dug into the ability and actually found the text in the code that describes "shrug it off" in the UI to the player. I clearly read it wrong. I thought this was the amount of damage that Axiom avoided.. like armor mitigation.

It looks like this actually makes axiom's "shrug it off" worse; the ability usually reduces the damage to 1.

Just a suggestion you may want to change Verge's Stupor_short to 2 as well as that will make it actually stun the target every time, essentially turning it into a sure thing to stop an enemy for a bit.

No, he typically keeps them separate so people have the choice of what to use. I, for example, use the Lite versions of Agent, Start, but the full version of Arsenal.

look at the files in my DIY modding section above. The StrategyTuning.ini holds the starting values. You will also find in the files how I add or change prices in the market. The method is a little more involved than with a regular name=value pair. With lists of things (arrays) you need to add and remove things. You will see this used in several places. So in your own mods just follow the same examples.

I would like to know how to do overrides into my mods myself. So I can have a better supply. I have the same idea, this is 5 years after X-Com 2 and this is an elite squad. So why do they have to pay for medkits smoke grenades and such. Hence why I love this mod.
