ohh yeah i know about that (built an on screen keyboard a while ago myself) but its way slower than using your actual keyboard. for now i settled with chat commands and using a small loop hole to get chat commands with workshop mods (and no manual installation process)

Well the mod itself is outdated so it's not working anymore. I crated it shortly before the survival update to show the possibilities of the (at the time) current system. My plan was to expand that idea in the integrated processor so that you can have editors etc inside scrap mechanic to edit code / view files or images without external tools. I hope that the signs presented in the devblog will allow text input in GUIs so that i can expand on the idea as planned :)

So... i have done a lot of prototyping and i have created a working version of the modular behavior i want in the programmable processor mod where you can add custom system functions to accelerate your program in lua.... i hope i can pull of the same thing with this mod :) so far there is full mouse support (you can move the mouse like in windows and clicks are registered) i will have to rewrite the hole click event system to match some requirements to streamline "module development" im also able to spawn button elements that can be registered but its the same like the mouse stuff.... i have to rewrite it into a better api for the modules to use. I have also worked on a simple selection system to allow multiple layers of menus. How soon i can release a core mod with some functionalities depends on how much time i will have in the future to continue this mod :(

is the new mod done as it is the 29th of august and the servival update has come and been around for a long time now so is the new mod done?

i have (somewhat) good news for you :) im currently working on a new mod that continues this prototype. sadly (due to technical limitations) the quality of images will not be as good as in this prototype (more specifically the character a pixel is displayed as is not supported). ill still give my best to implement cool features. the biggest change that i try to achive is that most of the "skills" of the mod come from extensions (like a paint extension, music maker extension or an editor extension (and maybe games but im not sure about that)).

It's just a prototype / showcase of what is currently possible in the game. I wanted to give you an insight on project(idea) s / features that I want to develop in the future. One big misters are the changes to the Modding environment which I can explore in the next couple of days (on these changes depends what I can do and what projects I have to leave behind).

Just as a quick note: as far as i know this update will change / add a lot when it comes to modding so ill try to update this prototype as soon as im done messing around with all the new stuff to see how far i can push scrap mechanic modding :)

I looked at the code and noticed that hex values are highlighted the wrong way (I'll fix that after the survival release)

This small update brings you a text viewer with a simple code highlighting feature that you can turn on or off as you like! The highlighting and the code in the example (example 6) are more or less how the new language of the processor mod will look like (atleast i hope that i can get the interpreter to work and than the language is finished)
