Pedestrian paths are wonky.. indeed they often make connections with roads and other paths merely by proximity. We need a mod like TM:PE to have a feature that recognizes all pedestrian paths (especially those embedded inside assets) and allows us to prevent them from being used.

@Agamemnicon wow. I love what you did with it! @YUMBLtv glad you both like it.

I can take a look re: crossing at the ends of the platform, but I think the issue might be that the pathways for the platforms are just close enough together because of the width of the tracks that the game can find a path between the nodes at the ends, sort of like how you can have a vanilla paved path near a road with a sidewalk and pedestrians will find their way between them. I'm not sure if there's much I can do about that (or frankly, if I actually know enough about asset creation to fix it), but if any asset creator has suggestions I'd gladly hear them!

@Chris6d I started trying to make one that works as a bypass station inspired by Beverley/Cortelyou Rd. stations in Brooklyn, but the technical issues I was having with them were... a lot. I might try again but I was getting reaaaaaaaaally frustrated. sorry about responding so late, I needed to take a long break from the game and now I'm back to work so I don't have as much free time.
Agamemnicon 9 Jul, 2020 @ 8:43pm
@YUMBLtv I'm noticing that too. I've been drawing a pedestrian path across that top walkway, although I need to check if those pedestrians are just walking THROUGH the station or actually using the platform. Check the 3rd photo in the link I posted July 1st

In my experience the peds won't use the overpass. Theyll cross the tracks at either end of the station. Any fix for this? Otherwise it's wonderful.

I absolutely love this station. I'm not a fan of metro in the game because you can't see what's happening. I wouldn't be using the new vanilla metro with Sunset Harbor without your station. Thank you!

Here's some of the work I've done with it so far: https://imgur.com/a/t8Lvx3F

Can you please make one with 4 tracks, like a bypass station? That'd be epic :steamhappy:
NWriot19 31 May, 2020 @ 12:57am
Wow! This is just what my city needs, and I haven't found any other assets like this. Thank you so much for your hard work!

@gamer_110 hey, thanks a bunch, that's real kind of you to say.

This is an amazing tube station, there are barely any sunken train/tube stations on the workshop.
It fits really well in any area of a city that looks like outer London :)
internetfamousdog  [author] 17 May, 2020 @ 3:23pm
@Sint Holo yeah, it's a lil' on the hefty side, I'll give you that. Unfortunately to get the whole model properly functioning with all the textures displayed properly I had to split the building into a couple of smaller sub-buildings, which definitely increases the file size. A lot of that is also the props, though. Tube stations have a lot of signage and I was trying to make it as realistic as I could in that regard. If you don't subscribe to those (maybe you don't want a London theme, idk), that should help. Every other prop I used is vanilla so your game is already loading those anyways.

All that said, I'm working on another one that's giving me a bit more trouble, but I've managed to do a better job cleaning up the model so that it only needs two parts. Hopefully that'll help the file size.

@melbchef2 I wasn't planning on making this into a train version just because I'm focusing on the new vanilla metro updates, but I'll end up working on some train stations as well I'm sure.
Allystrya 16 May, 2020 @ 10:46am
@Sint Holo - I will take 30 over the 140MB that MOM is which does NOT include all the additional assets it requires just to have a decent looking above-ground metro. Right now it is one of the very extremely few non-vanilla looking Metro stations that is above ground that does not require MOM.
Sint Holo 16 May, 2020 @ 6:57am
30mb!? Are you bloody kidding? It looks great, but not 30mb great!
melbchef2 14 May, 2020 @ 6:22pm
love this asset any chance of a train version of it ?
Allystrya 12 May, 2020 @ 12:03am
I have been trying to look up pictures of the ones you have mentioned LOL But I can only seem to find tracks and vehicles :P and signs but not the actual pics of stations :) See for me, I finally have a little metro I love to watch on the tracks. So I want to be able to see it. The vanilla one covers the tracks, yours does not so I was excited. That was the big thing for me LOL Otherwise I would have stuck to underground :)

I have been planning on using this set of houses with an above ground metro as part of more...touristy but yet cozy elite?

I have been playing with roads and colors to try and make it better blend with the whole area as I still am trying to get it as I envision it if you will. I will get it to mesh. It will just take me a minute :)
Allystrya 11 May, 2020 @ 11:53pm
Uh... I have areas and they blend into other areas. I am still at the beginning of this map. I tend to redo things frequently until I find them perfect. So pardon the incompleteness of places as I jump around.

Keeping this one by my hospital: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2093716535

I want to replace this one. It is my power/waste/services area

Also replacing this one

I am thinking of replacing the Harbor but the bus station is staying.

@Allystra thank YOU! just out of curiosity, what city style are you working on? My original idea for a sunken metro station was actually based on the BMT Brighton Beach line in Brooklyn, NY, but I started looking at London and forgot all about NYC for a bit. But I'm super open to checking out inspiration from around the world, I have four or five different builds based on places around the world and jump back and forth between them depending on my mood. If there's a style that you're going for in particular I'd love to check it out, especially if it's something I haven't seen before. No promises that I make anything in particular but I'm always looking for interesting design elements!

(also I have a couple of actual ground level metro stations that don't require MOM in the works, hopefully one of those will be up in a few days?!)
Sp3ctre18 10 May, 2020 @ 2:40am
buildings in it look really cool!
Allystrya 9 May, 2020 @ 4:11pm
Thank you so much

I just the day before had been looking for an above ground metro that DID NOT require MOM. I couldn't believe I couldn't find one since it is now part of the base game now.... I have no desire to get a whole mod just to have one :) It doesn't exactly fit my city style but I honestly don't care at this point :p LOL It is beautiful nonetheless and I now have it in my game in use and it works wonderfully. I actually leveled to ground level for my particular use which now it just looks like it has taller doors but not in a bad way.

I hope more take to your example and please keep up the good work!!

looks fantastic, wish i had a use for it though.
internetfamousdog  [author] 6 May, 2020 @ 8:10am
@clus thanks! coming from you that means a ton :)
@hemeac thank you, and I actually tried dialling back the brightness using the same textures for another station I'm working on, and I see exactly what you mean. I was hesitant to turn down the brightness at all because I find a lot of the themes I like have beautiful colours but are just way too dark and I end up having to use relight to turn the brightness back up again, but changing it in blender wasn't as drastic as I thought it was!
hemeac 5 May, 2020 @ 3:08am
I'd follow @clus advice over mine, but I find that colours that work well in CS are a bit dark within Blender and it helps for me to know if it is coming together the way that I like. Regardless, a thumbs up and excited to see what your next projects are.
clus 5 May, 2020 @ 12:29am
Hey ! I haven't used it so far, but it looks great on the pictures ! Well done ! Thumbs up ! :)
internetfamousdog  [author] 4 May, 2020 @ 6:49pm
@hemeac thanks for the feedback! I had been dialling back the saturation while texturing in Blender, but I didn't actually touch the diffuse after baking it. I'll try it out!
hemeac 4 May, 2020 @ 4:45pm
Looks really great, working on stations can be a pain. Only based on your screenshots and depending on what it would look like in real life, I may make the diffuse map just a touch darker. After modelling in Blender, I've started knocking down the saturation -15 and lightness -30 in Photoshop for the diffuse map that I import to the game. I think that helps the assets keep their colour in the mid-day shots.
GregThunder 4 May, 2020 @ 9:27am
Great Asset! There have been a lack of ground metro stations so this is nice.
