@SIMΩMEGA:

Back when I built CV I didn't exactly know what I was doing all too much for that; but you're supposed to tap B repeatedly after the paddle swings out. I should have made that clearer in retrospect, lmao.

Since RERUNNER's recently released(very good game), I might come back to this character for another minor visual/gameplay overhaul. God knows his Dspecial needs a serious reevaluation, Nspecial aside.
SIMΩMEGA 12 Sep, 2023 @ 2:04am
I don't get it, how is the firing from N-B supposed to work? Sometimes it fires, sometimes it doesn't, it's inconsistent, regardless if I spam B, time it or not lol. Any explanation on how to make it work? But regardless great character man.

this is so fucking cool, any Bit.Trip content is nice to see nowadays.
MildTomfoolery 26 Dec, 2021 @ 2:17pm
not that easy to find BIT.TRIP fans out there nowadays. Wanna make this comment section the remains of community here?
Fatih 31 Oct, 2021 @ 2:03pm
I didn't know the classic fans existed still oh my god

yo, the final smash buddy has mod support. are you gonna give CV one, too? :core:
klevmeister 15 Feb, 2021 @ 8:41pm
Good fun to play as, lots of representation of the entire BIT.TRIP series, my only complaints are that there is a lot of audio spam if you are stuck between two modes, and that his taunt is not the annoying dance from the first cutscene of Void. Good work!

Very excited on the upcoming update, I personally really enjoyed this character but his basic moves are simply way too stubby, and his N-B cooldown doesn't make much sense. I really liked the first Bit.Trip Runner so this was amazing.

THANK. YOU.

@PC-98 Fan:
Thank you so much! Eventually I want to roll out a patch to add even more compatibility(there's so much more now), and I'm completely aware that Abyss Runes are now a DE thing. I'm gonna look into it soon and push it together with some balance/visual tweaks.
Pc-98 Fan 28 Sep, 2020 @ 8:46am
OML, where do i start, first of all, congratulations on how it came out, a job done very well. :p4g_smiling:
also, I would like you to make CV compatible with Abyss mode (since abyss runes are no longer required).

@Skycheese:
Hey, thanks! I made sure I used all his games this way, from BEAT in the Nspecial to Runner2/3 in his looks. I've played them a few times, so I felt it was important get his whole series referenced fairly.
Tabs 30 May, 2020 @ 4:19pm
I love that the character represents the whole bit trip series and not only the runner games.

Nabbit, Commander Video is property of Bit. Trip, not Team Meat

This mod is... just okay. I feel like the moves are functional, but they're rather boring and bland - Side Special is your standard dash move (and I don't really remember Commander Video dashing in that manner in ANY of the games), Up Special is just "you go up", Down Special is a shine, Neutral Special is the only move that sort of breaks the mold but it feels very inconsistent. Also BAir is jank as heck.
Nabbit66 16 May, 2020 @ 3:27pm
i see meat boy, i give a like... simple as that
Stormghetti 15 May, 2020 @ 6:14pm
Having gotten that out of the way (hopefully), I do feel like B-Air, for example, is a little problematic. Very long range, but also limited at the same time because the hitboxes are connected to "projectiles" that start off behind him and travel away from him, leaving only 3 frames for him to properly space the move when opponents are very close. It's also pretty easy to spam it to zone out opponents without even interacting.

The other problem is that those "projectiles" aren't real. They move along with him and that doesn't look natural, so I think you'll have to look into a way to incorporate B-Air as a true projectile-based move somehow.

There's also N-Air, which stays active even during landing, but that's probably just an oversight.

For now, that's all I had to provide until I keep labbing him. (3/3)
Stormghetti 15 May, 2020 @ 6:14pm
You got your hopes up by the wait and maybe even the teaser prior to release, but keep in mind that even a character like this can take a long time to design, develop and code even if you think they're too close to Sandbert in terms of moveset. What I said is especially true for someone who's just starting. It's also likely they haven't been working on this on and off.

Yes, the clone part is a little true to some extent, admittedly, but "clone" is a strong word and not true in this context. They're similar. (2/3)
Stormghetti 15 May, 2020 @ 6:13pm
Now I may not be familiar with the BIT.TRIP games at all, but I have come to provide constructive criticism from a balance stand-point, rather than providing semi-vague criticism by calling your rendition of the character a, "Weak, over-hyped (?) Sandbert clone."

While, yes, the wait might be a valid point for disappointment if you think the character didn't "deliver," I still wouldn't demean someone else's work by calling their character something as low as that.

D , by seeing your previous, available work and by reading the description of this character alone, it's clear you're just starting off. I generally think looking into the author's background (if easily available) is a good practice before you go off on them; be thoughtful and respect the fact that they're probably trying their best. It's freelance work; they don't owe you nothing. The author can work at their own pace without fear for deadlines. (1/3)

@iamasnail - Dspecial's getting changed.
Nspecial's meant to double as a combo starter and a stage control device. It changes depending on Modes, and is a two-step thing. Close quarters allows you to hit with it(two times which can be canceled right into a combo), and you can fire up to five Beats at a distance before it locks you out of firing for a second or so.
Fspecial changes from a simple quick-dash to a full three-hit grab move after hitting HYPER and every Mode higher.
Nstrong has two hitboxes and is meant to function as such for people at reasonable distances instead of what would be Bowser's Nstrong.
[BAG] Duh Binky 15 May, 2020 @ 2:15pm
the only real unique parts CV has are his taunt and mode gimmick
his down special is the same as sandberts
his neutral special is the same as sandberts
his forward special is the same as sandberts
his neutral strong is the same with the slight difference that it pushes CV away instead of moves him forward like sandberts nstrong
its almost not even subtle.
D The Hedgehog  [author] 15 May, 2020 @ 1:44pm
@iamasnail - Could you at least give out pointers instead of calling him a weak Sandbert clone? I thought I did everything I could to distance him from being the training dummy.
[BAG] Duh Binky 15 May, 2020 @ 1:34pm
7 months for a weak sandbert clone.
even more dissapointing because i was so excited to play as C.Vid in a fighting game.
Zombiepigs0972 15 May, 2020 @ 10:36am
This was my #1 most wanted character thank you
