So if subscribing dont work here.. Why tell us how you opened it and make it so it opens from here or your collectsion. Looks like a great map:liked seeing you added the blizzard,DEEP snow,only thing you should have added "For a spot not so valubal in your map {Like the star the AI has when you control 2 and then win... If you would add a watch tower or 1 at each star whatever would have been the only building u mesed,

no it does not work, think i got alienware thingy, but I fixed it by having a friend download them and then I just created the folder and added the maps into that foder and the maps work now

Hi, just click subscribe and wait till the map is downloaded. If you have already many maps installed it can take a while. After that the map will show up.

Sadly I am not able to contribute anymore to this game with maps due to this problem. http://community.companyofheroes.com/forum/company-of-heroes-2/company-of-heroes-2-general-discussion/company-of-heroes-2-bug-reporting/84859-error-writing-file-when-publishing-no-error And as you can see, this colleague mapmaker is already waiting for months and no help what so ever from relic. So I guess this is the end. So playing the game is what I am going to do now and trying all the new mods :)

Replaced the watchtower with a radio tower. This radio tower does not only give the option to reveal the enemys positon (each time 15 seconds for 30 ammo) but it also gives 6 ammo and 4 fuel, there can also be put a fuel or ammo cache on top of it. Yes units can cross the ice ;) (That's also why I've put more bunkers near the river to stop infantry assaults early on).
But once on the ice you can make tanks sink by a mortar, at gun, artillary or a shot from a tank. :)

Hi, the bridges can be destroyed, yes. In the middle however there isn't a bridge but a narrow crossing and deep snow. Units can on this winter map always cross the ice though but this makes them vulnerable of course :) If you want a more choke point map you can play the summer version with 2 destroyable bridges, no way to cross the water and the narrow muddy crossing in the mid. Arty fun of course :)

Thanks for the quick reply. Still one question though ;-) I managed to change the popcap on my own map and a vanilla map. Now i would like to change the popcap on maps i downloaded from steam workshop (sadly i'm not quite the mapbuilder artist myself). However i cant seem to find them and i dont understand how to use the archiver to archive them... Thanks a lot!

About adding a day/night cycle. to this map as well ... I could do that but on this map there is then one drawback, if I implement the day/night transitions it disables the gameplay effects from blizzards. Meaning, soldiers won't freeze to death anymore and pios and engineers can't build campfires. They are then useless anyway as troops don't need to warm up anymore. (good news, the water effects are still intact, so open water still freezes back to solid ice) So if I implement a day/night cycle to this winter map i'll do the same as with my latest map 'reverse defence'. I'll make a 'by night' version. As a day/night cycle has nice lightning effects. So I'll leave this map intact, as it is and people who like a day/night cycle implemented in this winter version of vire river can download the by night map that can be expected soon, still working on it.

One sidenode though. Panther-bunkers and mortar-bunkers have no offensive function and both only can take a few hits. If this cannot be fixed, maybe replacing them with other "beefy" structures would be an improvement.

Really appreciate this vanilla map in CoH2 (both seasons) with just the right amount of popcap. Self-adjusting popcap is something coh2 should have had from the start. Good job and shame on the CoH2 devs for punishing the players with just one stupidly low cap-setting.

Yes [OR]STPatrick the ai is sometimes a bit dumb and it can hinder your units everywhere in fact. Last game I ordered 5 tanks to attack a base .. 4 tanks arrived .. I looked where the other one left .. I found it at our side of the river, blocked by 2 of my ai teammates
tanks that were repairing near a trench. My 5 th tank was blocked between these 2 tanks and the trench. I couldn't go forward, back, left or right. I had to wait till they were repaired and moved on. The ai was blocking in coh1 as well. Like the entrance to the base north on the hochwald map for example. But since this doesn't happen often it doesn't hinder gameplay to much.

I like the map, only one small critique would be when playing with multiple AI players. AI units get bottlenecked at the bridges.They park a tank, ect and not even your units can pass. Other then that great map.

Seems that steam was under a DDos attack. That explains the problems we had. I just reuploaded the map and before I did that I added some more search lights to the map like on the main entrance from each base. I like it when their lights turn on for 20 seconds just before a Blizzard strikes. Enjoy :)
