Ahh...ya I don't actually play much and when I do, I play MP with a friend and we use electrical anchors for towing but I've added a rope anchor. Will be included in an update in a day or two along with some new nav lights etc ;)

I'm not seeing a rear rope connector for towing. Is that just me or is it actually missing one? Or are you going with a rear winch for towing (which tbh is kinda better as you can adjust the length for better stormy weather tow)

I think I found the problem. I can't count. Spaced the connectors at 28 blocks...ISO's are 29. I'm surprised sinking was all it did lol.

Will be fixed in a few minutes...at least I assume that'll fix it...it should...

I've moved maybe one or two containers. Can't really find a good crane to really get them into the boats. I'm pretty sure they were vanilla containers. I didn't do anything different attaching the containers. If i can recreate this i will try to.

It kind sounds like you've moved lots of containers in game...is there anything different about this setup vs others you've used?
Like maybe if all of the other connectors defaulted to 'on' instead of off it wouldn't do that weird pull thing...I'll need to find a way to check this out for myself.
Just to be clear, this is happening with the vanilla game containers or a Workshop creation?
If Workshop, could you link me?

I was just messing around and decided to transport some crates for RP but as soon as the container connected with the ship it just rolled lol. This game is great but a lot of the random quirks kind of break the game for a lot of people. I'm almost to that point as well. It's sad because so could be so many creations if this game played nicely.

Oh? Well that's not good. Sounds like funky electrical connector magic voodoo evil stuff.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen or know how to get a container mission in game since V1.0 so I only tested with an ISO I made. If this is happening with the vanilla containers...I dunno...I think I may write this game off entirely. Some quirks I can live with...but the house is getting crowded :/

So not sure if this was a me thing but i put a crate on the port side and once it connected the entire ship rolled to the starboard and sank.

Sure...

If you want to get it running, replace all 8 'fluid nozzles' with 'fluid exhausts'. You can remove the fluid pumps the nozzles are attached to as well actually. There's 4 in the two corners of the stern. I know, it's an odd placement...but the smoke was invisible so it didn't matter. Now that it does, I'd have to re-pipe it all to another, more realistic location and I just don't have it in me to do that.

Actually...you know what? I think I will make version that an carry a couple containers. It might not handle very many but I think 4 should fit easily enough. Fairly easy to convert I hope. We shall see. I've been inspired! Thanks :)

Sorry, this one isn't going to be able to handle cargo...the rear deck is mostly occupied by a helipad on this one. I don't even think it could be adapted to handle cargo very well given the type of hull it is.
I maybe make another off shore support type of ship down the road but I don't have any plans at the moment except to finish this SAR ship.

Thanks So much for the update! I cant wait to see what amzing creation you can put out! I did have a question though, Will it be kinda of like the Vale/Vista here while it is an exellent SAR, they also from my experiments made pretty good cargo haulers due tho the magnets and large rear deck space, will the new ship be simmilar to this, or are you leaving that concept. Anagin thanks for the updates and im excited to see your new crafts!

Thanks :) I may have a SAR vessel posted this month but it depends on how things go. I'm back to work now after COVID which means my time to work on it is limited. It'll be out before the end of the year though, and probably much sooner...I just can't say for sure.

It's broken as of last week. I don't have the enthusiasm to keep updating. It was fun for me to build but the maintenance is the killer so I think I'll just let this and my older ships fade and make some new ones.

This weeks update broke the exhausts (again) hoping a for a hotfix tomorrow. If not, I'll stick some laggy old standard exhausts on it.

Dynamic Positioning System...basically it's to hold the ship in place at the co-ords you set. I'm not entirely sure it's working 100%. With the new wind characteristics, I doubt very much it stays in position now. I'll have to have a look...thanks for mentioning.

There's two in the bow (side), two in the stern (side) near the directional thrusters.. They're activated by the 'Systems' button on the center console and intended to be 'always on' with the ship systems.

To mark the occasion, I went ahead and fixed the 'kite characteristics' and made the stern crane radio controlled. Not entirely happy with these R/C units so will update the other crane and winches when/if the devs make some updates to the R/C. They don't work as precisely as a seat/helm...there's no 'Control Help' like a seat and the winch seems to drop to full extension when you activate the R/C. Hope they get updated soon, as having the cranes as R/C is very handy.

Some bad news.

I think I'll be pulling this ship from the Workshop. I used some lightweight wing surface blocks for a fair bit of the floors on this ship and now the wind can pick it up like a kite. Basically, it's junk now.

Leaving it up for the time being to see if the wind and wing surfaces characteristics get adjusted but I'm stopping any updates until I see what happens.

Sorry for the trouble if you lose control in high wind conditions. It was an unforeseen change.

The Vale's captain seat also immediately takes damage once power turns on. Probably something to do with the seat swivel

By "practicle" i just meant i didn't like the idea of spending more money on extra parts for a function i wouldn't be using. Practical probably wasn't the right word.

Ahh, yes, it is kind of a ship without a mission at the moment. When the update drops stuff like that should be possible, and hopefully the Vale is already equipped for it. We'll see. Glad you are enjoying it as is for the time being.

This one was my 'sinkable ship ' project so I doubt I'll go back to it, BUT, at some point after 1.0 drops and gets the inevitable bugs ironed out, I'll get back into Stormworks and build something new along the same lines of the Vale and the Vista.

You don't find it practical? I mean, you don't have to sink it and it would be hard to sink unless you wanted it to. I did try to make it useful in career as well. I'm just curious what it's missing for you?

I love the look of this ship except for the fact that its sinkable, could there maybe be a version without the sinkable feature to make it more practical in career after the 1.0 update?
