---------------------------------------------------------
Launched in 2031, she's a small off shore Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). Fictional, of course, but an ideal working vessel in the world of Stormworks for ISO transfer, oil spill clean-up, fire response, search and rescue and more.

Having learned a lot since my last big ship, I've had another go at a largish off shore vessel. I've tried to make it user friendly and functional while being semi-realistic in it's features and performance. I have taken some small liberties such as the cranes and winches which you may or may not find on a real world PSV. They are only really meant for handling small items such as drones, buoys and perhaps some spill recovery gear. Anyway, with those, she'll be helpful to those research people and probably tow an oil tanker, maybe put out some fires. You get the idea.

I say small, but it's still a fairly large boat in Stormworks with a lot of lights and sub-grids, but hopefully performance is reasonable for you.

Fire Suppression in Engine Room and Above the Back Up Generator
There's a Harness hanging down in Cargo. You can disconnect it from there, take it up and attach it to the cargo crane for rescue.
The main deck backup generator will explode / catch fire creating a 'Fire at Sea' scenario. There is fire suppression right there and several fire extinguishers or call for help in MP :)
There's more, but I have to cut this short. Just explore. I tried to 'fill in the corners' to try and make her seem like a lived on, working vessel without going crazy with paint blocks and stuff.

*Choose the ships state from 1x1 screen on center console (leave untouched for normal sailing)

Start Up and Getting Underway
Make your way down to the engine room, (Pro-Tip: short cut through the cargo hatch), turn on the 6 electrical relays (Port side) and the 4 fuel valves (Starboard side), then (optional) start each engine using its key ignition (other option is to start engines from the bridge).

Go to bridge and hop in the Captain's seat.
To your left, on the upper center console (see final screenshot above as reference) you'll find 4 arrow buttons, Press and Hold (you are turning key that the engine room) to start each engine. (Press again to switch off, or turn off key in engine room).

While revs are stabilizing, turn on the 'Bridge Systems, Instrument Lights, Running Lights and Navigation Lights' via the line of button on the lower center console.
When revs have stabilized, apply throttle (via lower console buttons or W/S)

Reverse: With throttle lowered, engage reverse via key button on right console. Note it's advised to wait a minute for the props to stop spinning before reversing so I find using the reverse directional thrusters is much more convenient.

Directional Thruster Controls are also located on the console to your right. The 6 directional arrow buttons, use as indicated.

Captain Seat Hotkeys:
A/D---Rudders
W/S---Combined Throttles

Hopefully most of the systems are familiar to you, if not, everything is labelled and I tried to make things intuitive but there's a lot going on and Steam only allows these descriptions to be so long. Post here if you have any issue and will try to assist.

Special thanks to Taijin for Taijin's Stormwork Toolbox which I always forget to thank because it's not a WS subscription. Not this time. Awesome tool that does most of my lettering.

Special thanks to Talia Kuznetsova for creating and installing the horn and lighting systems.

As usual, many thanks to those who share their creations on Workshop for all to use and enjoy. These cool things went into the Vale...
Happy Sails!!

Ahh...ya I don't actually play much and when I do, I play MP with a friend and we use electrical anchors for towing but I've added a rope anchor. Will be included in an update in a day or two along with some new nav lights etc ;)

I'm not seeing a rear rope connector for towing. Is that just me or is it actually missing one? Or are you going with a rear winch for towing (which tbh is kinda better as you can adjust the length for better stormy weather tow)

I'm glad i could help :D

I think I found the problem. I can't count. Spaced the connectors at 28 blocks...ISO's are 29. I'm surprised sinking was all it did lol.

Will be fixed in a few minutes...at least I assume that'll fix it...it should...

Thanks for pointing it out White Brow

OK thanks for the info!
I'll see if I can find a container in game....and something to lift it with. Probably a helo will be easiest :)

I've moved maybe one or two containers. Can't really find a good crane to really get them into the boats. I'm pretty sure they were vanilla containers. I didn't do anything different attaching the containers. If i can recreate this i will try to.
Megahurts  [author] 24 Nov, 2020 @ 4:06am
It kind sounds like you've moved lots of containers in game...is there anything different about this setup vs others you've used?
Like maybe if all of the other connectors defaulted to 'on' instead of off it wouldn't do that weird pull thing...I'll need to find a way to check this out for myself.
Just to be clear, this is happening with the vanilla game containers or a Workshop creation?
If Workshop, could you link me?
Thanks!

I was just messing around and decided to transport some crates for RP but as soon as the container connected with the ship it just rolled lol. This game is great but a lot of the random quirks kind of break the game for a lot of people. I'm almost to that point as well. It's sad because so could be so many creations if this game played nicely.

Oh? Well that's not good. Sounds like funky electrical connector magic voodoo evil stuff.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen or know how to get a container mission in game since V1.0 so I only tested with an ISO I made. If this is happening with the vanilla containers...I dunno...I think I may write this game off entirely. Some quirks I can live with...but the house is getting crowded :/
