Could you add a policy where you can export unemployed teachers? It could increase teaching quality, improve diplomatic relations, and can help to solve the teacher unemployment issue.
jeg623 7 Dec, 2017 @ 6:00pm
I really don't understand how the teacher:pupil ratio works. It is causing the teacher unemployment debuff to not decrease. Could someone exlpain this to me?
Jakar510 1 Nov, 2017 @ 7:43pm
crashes.
ProfileName 30 Dec, 2016 @ 11:31am
It crashes my game.
byjimini 22 Apr, 2015 @ 9:56am
Sad to see it doesn't work with the expansions, just crashes the game.
Szajko 31 Dec, 2014 @ 12:26am
I love this mod, thank you so much for spending the time designing this! I have one question/proposition though. The Education Standards Agency solely improves teaching quality but it does not have any other effects (i.e. making state employees less happy because they are being harassed by inspectors). Could you fix this please?
Spajetti 2 Dec, 2014 @ 10:00am
Does the mod works with the german version?
Slimboy Fat 3 Nov, 2014 @ 12:16pm
the mod doesn't show up. I'm using social engineering and clones & drones
SHRIKE 8 Jun, 2014 @ 8:34am
can you please make this compatible with other mods + the latest DLC - its such a great mod, it'd be a shame not to use it :P
bant king 25 Mar, 2014 @ 10:19am
Got this working, but it lookslike it is incompatible with the LGBTQ rights mod, which I couldn't get to work at the same time.
bant king 24 Mar, 2014 @ 1:41pm
Not working for me, whenever I try to launch a game, it crashes.
Rosie Roselia 15 Feb, 2014 @ 2:32pm
I think the student:teacher ratio is a little hard to understand; there's two of them named the same thing and sometimes I'm not sure which one I'm increasing and whatnot. May I suggest naming one value "students" and another "teachers" and have them contribute to the ratio, which affects teaching quality?
Rudymeow 10 Feb, 2014 @ 1:32pm
On second thought, I have to admit the more successful students are actualy "resources" in some case, but not without teachers' extra care on the yet to successful students, and they can live without this if enough resources are spent on them.
Rudymeow 10 Feb, 2014 @ 1:23pm
Leaving the more successful kids with the avgerage students always have pros and cons, as they tends to draw resources from the teachers and setting flase "Buttom lines" by exapmle, it actually cause Pupil tail as soon as they see no hope to match them, unless much extra care is taken of.
There may be jokes that asians students feel hopeless when they get 87 out of 100 and stop trying, because his peel got 96 and crying, it is actualy no joke... maybe the no-hope values is 74, it happens.
So IMO the point is how much resources spent on the yet to successful students, not to keeping the more successful students around them, I don't think there should be problems when the state school got budget for free laptops.
Elinor  [author] 10 Feb, 2014 @ 12:56pm
@Rudymeow - Unfortunately, we disagree, then. These kinds of schools will tend to work against those more disadvantaged. For instance, selective schools directly hurt the chances of those who don't get into them by seperating out those doing better at schools. This is because kids learn quite a lot from each other, and when the kids who are more successful are seperated from those who are doing not so well, the ones doing worse are even less successful. There are lots of studies that show this. This isn't just based on natural ability, either, as kids from wealthier backgrounds are much more likely to get into selective schools because of things like more stable home environments, home environments that encourage more learning and private tutoring.

Rudymeow 10 Feb, 2014 @ 12:44pm
But then it should only cause by poor "Average" education, and no way cause by any "Elite" educations (Tech schools, Selective Schools, PrivateSchools unless it become major), that is what I try to point out, maybe it cause inequality (as soon there are someone considered better, there are inequality), but Elite educations should never lead to poverty IMO.
Maybe the only situation it should lead to poverty, is when state school are minority and poor quality.
Elinor  [author] 10 Feb, 2014 @ 11:42am
@Rudymeow - That's not what the education gap represents. The education gap represents the difference in results of the most disadvantaged to the least disadvantaged. That is, how much worse, on average, someone from a poor background/with SEN/etc. does compared to someone without those disadvantages. In every country of the sort that Democracy 3 models, this gap leads to a measurable number of people, mostly from disadvantaged backgrounds, leaving school without the necessary skills to make a living wage, and places where the education gap is larger have a bigger problem with this. This is why it increases poverty and inequality, because it is part of the self-reinforcing cycle of poverty.

The education gap does not exist because a few kids are amazing and most are kind of average. It exists because some are not leaving schools with basic skills and qualifications. Hopefully you can see why it would then have the effects that it does.
Rudymeow 10 Feb, 2014 @ 4:11am
Some people become poor, just because a few others turn out better? The Education Gap's effect is kinna weird.
jrodge12 9 Feb, 2014 @ 2:55pm
Also I disabled the Economic Realism and It does not work
jrodge12 9 Feb, 2014 @ 2:52pm
Where can I go to view current changes
Rosie Roselia 9 Feb, 2014 @ 1:57pm
What about a mod that introduces a federal loan dynamic? I.E. changing the interest rate on student loans to be higher would earn you a ton of money based on your poor and middle class population, but would increase poverty and negatively influence those populations.
Elinor  [author] 9 Feb, 2014 @ 1:29pm
@Trippelbob - I or Xietanu would be happy to discuss the ideas in this mod or some of the things we've done, and possibly even collaborate depending on the situation, but we would not be happy for you to use any of the assets directly, like the icons or any of the code. We have put a lot of work into this mod.

If you're making an education mod, I encourage you to do so; Democracy 3 is great for modding and I like seeing peoples' ideas, but I also like getting appropriate credit and having control over my own creations and how they are presented.
Trippelbob 9 Feb, 2014 @ 7:23am
Would it be ok for you if I implemented your great mod into my own one (still in development^^)? Of course, I will mention it at serval points ;)

I added this mod to the game, and accidentally pressed the X button while looking at it. Now, it doesn't show up anymore, even while un-subscribing, and re-subscribing. Please help. (Also, could you do it via pm, so I see?)

The next update will include something on vocational vs academics in the curriculum, and potentially some further stuff on subjects in the curriculum. See here for more details: http://positech.co.uk/forums/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=8980&sid=dd0f59db7c3f8a1df99b026158f40149&start=15
Bangin' Bimbos & Boppin' Bongos 19 Jan, 2014 @ 10:31pm
Awesome mod, but you know what could make this even BETTER? If you added vocational schools (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocational_school) , parents and youth would love it, unemployment would go down, and education would increase. Also their should be seperate subjects you can add to schools (e.i: physical education, religion, which shouldn't effect equality, technology backwater, or of anything of that matter, et ceterra, et ceterra). Another policy should be tuition fees for state schools, and if you are totalitarian enough, for private schools.

Just some ideas.
Assmode 19 Jan, 2014 @ 8:43pm
This is great! Really expands on the education aspect.

TastedSauce - This is a bug in Democracy 3. Try looking here for a possible solution: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/discussions/-1/666825525028453531/?appid=245470

Xietanu  [author] 13 Jan, 2014 @ 1:40pm
jkobewka - Could you give more details? What are your problems? Are you running other mods? Is your game crashing? If so, when?

rgkelley31 - When does it crash? When you start a mission? And are you running any other mods?

Joe Bidenopolous 12 Jan, 2014 @ 9:40am
@Elinor thank you for the advice i disabled only economic realism and the lite version and it ran perfectly with all the other mods but i miss the economic realism mod please work on that but thank you
Elinor  [author] 12 Jan, 2014 @ 9:07am
astaroth_god - Thanks, I'll add that to the description, I hadn't noticed that. I'm fairly sure the reason it doesn't work is the same as the Economic Realism mod.

STRIKE - It should work with all of those mods, yes, at least it did when we tested it. Let me know if you have any problems. I hope you enjoy it.
SHRIKE 12 Jan, 2014 @ 7:59am
also does it work with the disaster mod?
SHRIKE 12 Jan, 2014 @ 7:56am
It's really fanastic to see that you've actually thought this mod through before creating it - really excited to try it out :)
SHRIKE 12 Jan, 2014 @ 7:52am
is it compatible with Ulq's and Linus' Policy mods ???
astaroth_god 12 Jan, 2014 @ 6:21am
Doesn't work with free society of independance
Elinor  [author] 11 Jan, 2014 @ 5:51pm
Thanks for the positive comments!

Michaellaxer - there is only one mod I know of that it is incompatible with, which is Economic Realism. If there's enough demand, Xietanu and I could look at putting out a compatibility version that work with Economic Realism, though?
