While it still hasn't been updated to 1.6, it prevents pawns from sleeping in their designated sleeping spots. They just collapse on the floor.

i just found out about about a minor incompatibility between keep bed ownership and prisoner utils , which hinders the player's ability to arrest colonists with assigned beds

the arrest will not begin until the pawn you are trying to arrest loses ownership of his original bed/sleeping spot, making it so you have to pause the game, unassign their bed and then attempt an arrest. just tested with only these two mods and respective depencies active and i can confirm removing either makes the problem cease.

is this something related to the other mod or?

It would be nice if that feature ignored bedrolls, I don't always send the same colonist and I have to reasign the bedroll everytimes.

It's not a bug, but it's irritating that babies who grow up keep their crib and just stand around awkwardly when they want to sleep.

Came about the exact thing ChrisB is talking about below, it would be awesome if I could have my sanguophages take their deathrest in the caskets, but still have their regular bed - in their luxurious bedroom with the nice bathroom - still assigned to them. I guess effectively this would mean that the deathrest caskets are never assigned to the pawns in the first place. I wonder if that's doable. Would be an awesome addition to this mod.

took me a while to identify this but yeah, deathrest casket + bed = not compatible (the sanguophage will keep trying to use the casket as a bed, meaning if they have a partner they will suffer a mood loss due to not sleeping with partner, and if you have DBH they won't poop or wash unless you have public facilities).

the only in-game fix i've found is to reassign the bed, draft the pawn, unassign the bed again, then reassign the bed, then undraft. this will be required upon every deathrest. it seems the mod hasn't been updated since around 1.3 and just had About version updates, based on mod author comments - it has worked great for me for quite some time, other than this issue with the casket!

2nd to Divi, had a kid, got put in a bed, checked up on my cribs and had an error, uninstalled a bunch of mods one by one and bed ownership is causing a "object reference not defined" on my cribs.

So yeah, two issues I had:

1) Sending royals out on adventures causes them to permanently claim whatever bedroll or scrap of floor they were lying on at the time. When they come home, they will continue to complain about having an unsuitable bedroom even though their bedroom that they are currently using is just fine.

2) I sold a bunch of dogs and later noticed all my newborn farm animals were now sleeping outside. Apparently the dogs I had sold months before were still claiming ownership of their sleeping spots, preventing animals that actually lived in my base from using them, forcing me to periodically delete and recreate sleeping spots.

So yeah. Between these and the other issues people are talking about, this is not a great mod. Extremely good *idea* to be sure, but right now the implementation literally creates more annoying issues than simply reclaiming everyone's bed when they get home.

Hello.

I think i found a bug with this mod when a baby grows up to be a kid. It seem to try to keep the crib and gets bugged there.

Thanks for the mod, but it messes up with deathrest caskets and beds, can't have both for a sanguophage it seems!

Just found a weird bug with the mod, you need to click on "try to arrest" 2 times for it to work, and if a pawn is sleeping, you just can't arrest them
It's because of the mod assigning a bed to a colonist, when you try to arrest a colonist with a bed at their name, the first click on "try to arrest" unassign the bed, and then the 2nd click give the arrest order
But if a colonist is sleeping in the bed, then the first click will unassign the bed, but the mod will immediately assign it again, so the 2nd click will again try to unassign the bed, again and again and in the end you can't give the arrest order

Is there a way to switch it off for bedrolls? I went to an ancient complex and all my people slept on the floor instead of using the bedrolls I brought along because it remembered their previous users

After some looking, it seems a patch was made on your Github. Did you never push the patch through or did it just have problems? I couldn't find a plain text file for you mod so I wasn't able to test it myself, but that's as far as I have knowledge of modding. The assembly files are beyond my understanding.

@Hultis Any news about a potential fix for the deathrest bug? I'm oblivious to how mods work internally, so I have no clue if it's a complex problem or a code limitation, but I really hope you can find and implement a fix. Love the mod in it's entirety, this is the only problem I've ever had with it.

This seems to have a problem when a baby becomes a child. The child is still assigned their baby crib, but they can't sleep in it, so at night they just stand still doing nothing until they collapse.

I just made a pull request on the github, though I haven't tested my change extensively. All I know is now pawns can own beds and deathrest caskets, and the only thing that unassigns them from the casket is if they choose to sleep in another (as far as I'm aware).

Ok so this mod page says "Hospitality - this mod only affects colonists"
But the Hospitality page says "Keep Bed Ownership (guest beds can't be destroyed)"
So which is true?

Luckily 1/2 of a couple will return to the correct bed. But the others usually go where I don't want them. There's some orbital trade mods that are filling in the gaps of sales/needs but the adventure of visiting far away places (and the hilarious town names) is missed greatly.

@DAOWAce yup I first noticed the problem when this last update was on the unstable branch. I don't understand the development studio at all. How can such simple basic bugs like the prisoner caravan problem and basic functionality like beds getting unassigned, make it onto release candidates let alone make it into production. Even minimal testing would pick them up..

So it was the unstable build that broke the assignments as I guessed, because it was working before switching over for the prisoner/slave caravan fix, which is now FINALLY 1.5 months later pushed to live.

Whatever they did to fix what they broke also broke this mod, bizarre. Rimworld really isn't feeling like it used to back when Tynan was solo developing it.

Granted the mod was broken with biotech deathrest caskets already, but still. Maybe this will be enough to get the author to fix that issue too during the update. I tried to look at the source myself but it's basically alien language to me. Can sort of stumble through XML stuff, but not actual code.

There might be nothing wrong with this mod. The bug occurs after the latest update. Maybe we need to wait until the next update :(
