Thanks for telling me. I checked my local files and seems I really didn't change the values and only updated the descripton. It's fixed now you may have to unsub and sub again since some times it steam doesn't update mods.

After using this mod, I noticed that even after significantly increasing the probability of virtue, there's still a high chance of entering the affliction state. Upon checking the mod files, I found that both affliction_min_chance and affliction_max_chance are set to 0.5. Does this mean the mod doesn't match its description and actually locks the probability at 50%, unaffected by other effects?

It's overstressed_modifier close to the end of the file. On that same line it will list the custum affliction/virtue ids, it can also contain the % between affiction and virtue and at the end of the line it usually has the % chance of the custom setting to override the shared settings.

Only classes with custom settings have this line. So you would have to add them manually if you want those settings on classes without them.

@kweynn A bit late since I haven't been very active on steam for a while, but a made an affliction/virtue mod for 60/40 and another one for 40/60 because might as well for completions sake.

@Whiskeyjack it doesn't matter as long as you are not using any mod that completely replaces rules.json but might want to move it up just in case.

@Lobosystem indeed it just reduces a bit how stressful DD runs can be with all that rng

Where should something like this go as far as load order? Had a string of runs where it seemed more 75/25 affliction rate, so I'm not sure if it's actually working for my game or not

No exctly because this mod doesn't mess with trinkets. To put it simple the base game unmodded has a minimum cap of 5% and maxium cap of 99% for affliction chance with a base value of 75%/25% for affliction/virtue. Trinkets change the base value but it can't go beyond the cap so on the base game you can't have an affliction chance lower than 5% even if you somehow got the base value to 100% virtue chance with trinkets.

So what this mod does is lock both minium and maxium cap at 50% so the game will just ignore the changes to the base value. So trinkets that only change affliction/virtue chance technically still work but the game is just ignoring the changes to the base value if the trink has other effects those will work but chance to affliction/virtue will still be ingnored.

It's capped at 50% both minimum and maxium chance so it'll never go below nor above 50%. I was going to revert the changes I made to the mod but I just don't have the free time.

Sorry for the stupid questions but I wanna know something. So, I had the virtue event (+15) so all my guys would have a base 65%. Raynuald had +15 from his holy orders and dismas had his crimson court set for +45......I got afflicted with all of them. Dismas got one virtur but that didn't last on endless harvest and despite his 95% virtue chance, he got afflicted afterwards.

So, after this roundabout nonsense I shall ask. Do virtue increases just not work or did I get fucked hard by RNGuses

I hate it that this mod doesn't allow any more affliction chance items...
There is just 1 other option, which doesn't work with most of mods on the market

I hate this new uptdate....
why not make it as a standalone mod that users could go their own way, how they like?

If anyone is debating if you should use this mod or the other popular 50/50 affliction mod, use this one. Its made in a way more "clean" way, meaning it only modifies the 4 lines that govern the virtue or affliction chances, while in the other mod, the modder did not remove the other lines that he did not modify, making his mod way and I mean WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY less compatible with other mods (popular mods as well, like the 7 quirk mods).

Is this compatible with build 25661 as of Feb 2021? Just bought this on sale, been wanting to play it after watching a lot of streamers/LP's. And I agree that 50/50 makes more sense for virtues/afflictions!

Minimum and maxium affliction values decide the cap for both affliction and virtue change.

Base game with not mods that interfere with that has a 5% minum affliction chance meaning you can have a maximum of 95% virtue change and 99% maxium affliction chance meaning 1% minium virtue change with the base vales as 25% for virtue and 75% for affliction.

Honestly I considered changing both values to 50% to lock it at 50%/50% regardless of trinkets, I might actually do that eventually.

There seems to be a problem with the mod. I had my antiquarian at 100 Stress, with the heroes ring, and the BC trinket that gives a + 30% virtue buff (I got a mod installed that adds the BC Trinkets to Singleplayer) and she still got fearful, even though her virtue chance should have been 105%. I will write a similar message to the creator of the BC Mod, because I don't know which one of the two mods doesn't work, but I would still appreciate it, if you could look at it again.

The whole idea of afflictions was to show how desperate world is and how miserable chances are considering our "heroes" are mostly just cannonfodder in the end (besides Reyunald and Dismas + some other heroes that ppl tend to save at all costs), but you're idea is great too in terms of balance and thanks for this mod as it is
