I think it's a well balanced class, not as straightforward as the Vestal but with some useful advantages like the stress heal and marking capabilities. Camping skills do suck though.
Please, at least buff the trinkets :/
But I totally can't understand some trinket and same camping skill.
CURE costs too much (6 is definitly too much to remove a disease)
Trinkets: I will not exchange +25% healing skill for -15 dodge when there are other trinkets doing almost the same without negative effects
...this mender does not mend :(
I am so sad because the mod is great.
I totally understand where the creator is coming from with how this class is balanced. But it's the small things like for example, the Camping skills being rather expensive, that sour me when looking for a healer for a specific dungeon.
I often have a semi healer like the Arbalest with her, but he lack of movement and weakness of being in the front is something to consider.
I've played probably 200 hours with her installed, and I can't say I recommend this healer anymore.
I tried to make her more interesting and fun, here's my changes:
Bandage:
Now usable in every position.
Curative Vapours:
Only usable in positions 2 and 3.
Now also have 40/50/60% chance to give 1HealDot for 1/2/3 turns.
Medicinal Blend:
Now also usable in position 2.
Now also add Arbalest's Battlefield Bandage heal received buff.
Sling Shot:
-5 ACC all levels.
Now usable in position 2.
Toxic Shot: (I wish this skill was something different, perhaps another healing skill?).
Now usable in position 2.
I updated the description with the link to older versions of the Mender to bring to people's attention. I'll put the link here too for simplicity: https://www.nexusmods.com/darkestdungeon/mods/1060?tab=files
If you'd prefer to play an older version of the Mender, version 1.5 is before any rebalances were done. 1.6 is the previous version which lacks a few of the tweaks. The specifics of what was changed are in the Change Notes above if you'd like to check
What I want was an alternative to the Vestal. But what I got was "Well I might as well keep having 8 to 12 vestals on my roster, because every other healing class, including modded classes, absolutely sucks!"
Still feels a little barebones to me personally however the trinket values you've included do work in favor of adding some new versatility.
Glad to see that you're already cognizant of it though. Lots of DD artists don't even see it until you specifically point it out with like a side-by-side. Great work otherwise. Keep it up <3
The dirt texture you're talking about is something you can see in Borussa's art streams. Basically he overlays an image of a sort of paper texture underneath the artwork, giving it that dirt-like look. The unfortunate thing is that I'm not sure if that exact texture is released or not. To my knowledge it's not available anywhere (even more frustrating is that while the texture could be taken from the streams, no stream has the texture in plain view. Lineart of something is always in the way of the center).
Big focus on the next mod will be to greatly improve the art quality, and this will be one of the steps taken. Perhaps I could find the exact texture, someone might have it after all, but I'll look for something that works close enough.

I suppose I didn't notice it when playtesting, but the stress heal was too much of a staple. Hopefully the change makes the Laudanum more of a choice than a necessity.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! I'll keep listening in.
I have some ideas to make her more interesting:
Bandage: very small heal and also cure bleed, add decent bleed resist and increase her healing skills.
Curative Vapours: instead of group heal chould be a small single target heal and apply small restoration to others.
Medicinal Herbs: only cures blight and debuff, apply debuff and blight resist, very small heal.
If you want my advice you should tone down all of her skills and trinkets or make her harder to utilize so she could be an appropriate example of a jack of all trades and master of some, otherwise why use the official classes when one modded class can do it all?
