Same issue as previous commenter. Tried looking through the files for the problem but can't figure it out.

For some reason my mender that was given to me at the event came with all the skills and I can't remove them.
DahiriVaart 31 Dec, 2024 @ 5:40am
For those who are whining about the mod, do yourself a favor and learn to mod. It is pretty straight forward. Even a dumb donkey like me can do it. There some active and compassionate modders out there that are willing to teach you. Some even made a whole tutorial video from A to Z. Be kind to others and to yourself most importantly. :steamhappy:
thelastlemming 3 Jan, 2023 @ 9:09am
This mod is not in active development so no need for your pleas here lol

I think it's a well balanced class, not as straightforward as the Vestal but with some useful advantages like the stress heal and marking capabilities. Camping skills do suck though.
diziothevoice 2 Jan, 2023 @ 1:42pm
Like a vestal but worst :(
Please, at least buff the trinkets :/
diziothevoice 25 Dec, 2022 @ 7:08am
I like the lore, the graphic, the idea of this class.
But I totally can't understand some trinket and same camping skill.
CURE costs too much (6 is definitly too much to remove a disease)
Trinkets: I will not exchange +25% healing skill for -15 dodge when there are other trinkets doing almost the same without negative effects
...this mender does not mend :(
I am so sad because the mod is great.
NordicHorde 22 Nov, 2022 @ 10:35am
Does she have a canon name?
Packie12 8 Sep, 2022 @ 10:38pm
I mean its a vestal but she stress heals and clears horror instead of judgement, tuning down the healing aspect seems a good counter balance. I mean you can now simply run her instead of vestal+jester.

I love this mod
Lord Rith 5 Apr, 2021 @ 5:21pm
I have mixed feelings on this class because during the base game, this character to me feels just slightly underpowered. The class specific trinkets are loathsome in my experience. They never feel really worth using. And I often opt for anything else, as the negative outweigh the positives.
I totally understand where the creator is coming from with how this class is balanced. But it's the small things like for example, the Camping skills being rather expensive, that sour me when looking for a healer for a specific dungeon.
I often have a semi healer like the Arbalest with her, but he lack of movement and weakness of being in the front is something to consider.
I've played probably 200 hours with her installed, and I can't say I recommend this healer anymore.
Voidwalker 10 Mar, 2021 @ 7:40am
Why would anyone want to run straight up worse vestal?
ConnorUrbanDictionary 5 Feb, 2021 @ 1:45pm
Maybe its in conflict with a different mod but heavy ammunition trinket doesn't seem to work for me. Either that or its running calculations wrong. The damage for the ability is listing as 2-4 when base is 4-8 so I thought the damage range with trinket would be a +25%, 5-10. Am i misreading something?
StarrySunset 5 Dec, 2020 @ 5:24pm
Like most ppl I also think that she's very bland but she's a very necessary addition to the game.
I tried to make her more interesting and fun, here's my changes:

Bandage:
Now usable in every position.

Curative Vapours:
Only usable in positions 2 and 3.
Now also have 40/50/60% chance to give 1HealDot for 1/2/3 turns.

Medicinal Blend:
Now also usable in position 2.
Now also add Arbalest's Battlefield Bandage heal received buff.

Sling Shot:
-5 ACC all levels.
Now usable in position 2.

Toxic Shot: (I wish this skill was something different, perhaps another healing skill?).
Now usable in position 2.

The ping has been received sir, that's a wise way to future proof your design choices.
A Guy Named Guy  [author] 5 Nov, 2020 @ 10:31pm
Hopefully this'll ping some people:

I updated the description with the link to older versions of the Mender to bring to people's attention. I'll put the link here too for simplicity: https://www.nexusmods.com/darkestdungeon/mods/1060?tab=files

If you'd prefer to play an older version of the Mender, version 1.5 is before any rebalances were done. 1.6 is the previous version which lacks a few of the tweaks. The specifics of what was changed are in the Change Notes above if you'd like to check
Smugass Braixen-Chan 5 Nov, 2020 @ 2:17pm
Why do all the interesting sounding classes get nerfed into oblivion? It has gotten to the point where I keep backups of every mod class I do have out of fear of them being ruined by their developer.

What I want was an alternative to the Vestal. But what I got was "Well I might as well keep having 8 to 12 vestals on my roster, because every other healing class, including modded classes, absolutely sucks!"
Beef Wellington 4 Nov, 2020 @ 7:09pm
Very bland and doesn't really do anything with the mender theme other than aesthetically. The only reason you'd get her really is to have a second healer but there are just better alternative healer mods like the Grovetender
thelastlemming 2 Nov, 2020 @ 1:09pm
I think some of the skill benefits being reduced is a healthy step; you're in a close competition here with the Vestal. The challenge of course is to make a viable alternative, which means you really need to play up the Mender's unique aspects.

Still feels a little barebones to me personally however the trinket values you've included do work in favor of adding some new versatility.
Stolas 29 Oct, 2020 @ 8:15pm
Honestly an all around decent class. A less-combat savvy vestal with no armor, but with mark synergy and a stun. A good alternative to the one-and-only team healer that comes with the game.
thelastlemming 19 Oct, 2020 @ 10:45pm
Can someone help me with their interpretation of the comic? I have a certain reading of it but the summary text doesn't necessarily jive with that sense, lol :cozybrawlhalla2:
Warplord 3 Oct, 2020 @ 11:41am
Amazing class - we could always use more good and useful heroes, especially supports! Well done
polenya 2 Oct, 2020 @ 3:09pm
Great hero! I think keeping her skills tame actually benefits the class quite a bit, since it makes her more versatile in more comps (I'll definitely be playing her on my main save). I was kind of curious on if there's going to be an art update later on? Her sprites look a little weak compared to the mod preview art.
St. George of Houston 30 Sep, 2020 @ 6:51am
this one is kind of lame. Just a meta player's wet dream, an almost exclusively healer AND stress reliever class to be guarded by someone like the man-at-arms and to come out alive from almost any fight. boring stuff
wen_nug 30 Sep, 2020 @ 2:04am
once you used this class, there's no turning back.
-`💗 Nikki V 💗´- 28 Sep, 2020 @ 8:27pm
Excellent work!
Ornstein 25 Sep, 2020 @ 5:05pm
She is definitely one of my favorites c:
Scorpiova 12 Sep, 2020 @ 3:17pm
Looks awesome, I will definitely use this class. I love extra healers :)
Vulnavia Phibes 2 Sep, 2020 @ 1:16pm
I love her, she's a fantastic addition to the roster! <3
RamboTurkey 28 Aug, 2020 @ 7:04pm
the sling shot skill i think needs a damage buff
IceMaverick 25 Aug, 2020 @ 6:41pm
Yeah, if you have a solid photo editing software, it should actually be fairly easy to splice together a sampling of various different things together to get the same kind of splotchy texture. I've stitched some together a few times for DD-esque art I've done before. Obviously it'd be super easy to just use a pre-made, but if you take the time to really work on a nice texture, you'll have it for every other time you'll ever need it.

Glad to see that you're already cognizant of it though. Lots of DD artists don't even see it until you specifically point it out with like a side-by-side. Great work otherwise. Keep it up <3
A Guy Named Guy  [author] 25 Aug, 2020 @ 6:21pm
@IceMaverick I'm aware of the issue, and it will be fixed in the future.

The dirt texture you're talking about is something you can see in Borussa's art streams. Basically he overlays an image of a sort of paper texture underneath the artwork, giving it that dirt-like look. The unfortunate thing is that I'm not sure if that exact texture is released or not. To my knowledge it's not available anywhere (even more frustrating is that while the texture could be taken from the streams, no stream has the texture in plain view. Lineart of something is always in the way of the center).

Big focus on the next mod will be to greatly improve the art quality, and this will be one of the steps taken. Perhaps I could find the exact texture, someone might have it after all, but I'll look for something that works close enough.
IceMaverick 25 Aug, 2020 @ 6:10am
Hey, if you'd like some unsolicited feedback on the artwork, this class seems to have the same issue that most attempts at the DD artstyle suffer from. Since I've gone over this kind of thing before for a lot of other classes and basically the entire statement applies here, I'll just link that:

A Guy Named Guy  [author] 19 Aug, 2020 @ 12:29pm
@TheThomas (not sure if there's a way to tag people) Yes, there is a canon name like the other heroes usually have. The Mender's name is "Fleur".
Fate Inker 19 Aug, 2020 @ 8:02am
She seems interesting. Also, love your name.
TheThomas 18 Aug, 2020 @ 3:44pm
I absolutely love this class! Does she have a canon name?
A Guy Named Guy  [author] 15 Aug, 2020 @ 8:48am
Thanks for the heads up everyone, Diagnose should be fixed now
Vortexlortex 15 Aug, 2020 @ 1:00am
It´s a very well done class, however the diagnose skill lacks the bypass stealth that all other similar abilities that destealth the enemy have, other than that it´s a solid healer class and with a lot of utilities
Vantez 14 Aug, 2020 @ 6:41am
Finally a healer class!!!
Skeleton Knight 14 Aug, 2020 @ 6:25am
Diagnose has de-stealth effect but cannot target enemies in stealth. What's the point?
Pinkillah 12 Aug, 2020 @ 7:04pm
This looks awesome, can't wait to try it out! Thank you!
A Guy Named Guy  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 6:01pm
Hello everyone. Thanks for the feedback so far, I've taken it into consideration and have made some changes. Bandage is one step down from Vestal's heal, and the Laudanum stress heal is heavily lowered (now it's a step above the Crusader's heal), but now has an added stress resistance buff. Slingshot deals a little less damage and Toxic Shot's blight has been reduced, and its ACC lowered to equal Judgement from the Vestal.

I suppose I didn't notice it when playtesting, but the stress heal was too much of a staple. Hopefully the change makes the Laudanum more of a choice than a necessity.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! I'll keep listening in.
StarrySunset 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:44pm
This character looks pretty strong. Didn't get to play with this mod yet tho. Reminds me of the Rescuer but easier.

I have some ideas to make her more interesting:
Bandage: very small heal and also cure bleed, add decent bleed resist and increase her healing skills.
Curative Vapours: instead of group heal chould be a small single target heal and apply small restoration to others.
Medicinal Herbs: only cures blight and debuff, apply debuff and blight resist, very small heal.
The Bean Hunter 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:30pm
im with zalgo, most of the skills are just better versions of existing class skills, toning down the healing and stress healing amount just a bit would definetly make this more fair, i also believe medicinal herbs should not heal at all and have a limit to how many times you can use it in battle since curing debuffs can be very op late game.
[Khorne] Shits'N'Giggles 12 Aug, 2020 @ 9:38am
having stun and blight make this hero extremely powerful, you might want to consider removing the blight or stun/both, and replacing it with a force guard ability or movement ability
Hooby2025 12 Aug, 2020 @ 7:36am
Indeed shardinhand, indeed

Kranot 12 Aug, 2020 @ 4:23am
YES MORE HEALERS!
CoolINaturrBoy 12 Aug, 2020 @ 3:36am
looks cool !
zalgo210 12 Aug, 2020 @ 12:12am
Seems like you were going for a jack of all trades hero but you ended up with a jack of all trades and master of some as some her skills overshadow the official heroes with similar abilities, its not an issue for the occultist, plague doctor or jester since they have other roles in combat but it is an issue for the vestal since she is nothing beyond a healbot that can occasionally stun, de-stealth and prevent ambush and mender can do all of that but better and the last nail in the vestal's coffin is the mender's ability to cure diseases which make the superior healer in the farmstead.

If you want my advice you should tone down all of her skills and trinkets or make her harder to utilize so she could be an appropriate example of a jack of all trades and master of some, otherwise why use the official classes when one modded class can do it all?
